Answer:	I think it does. It makes be a few points off, not sure, but our salt reader went out on our pool and was going to cost a boatload of money. Our pool guy recommended getting a meter. Since I keep our salt in a range of 2900-3400ppm I am not too concerned if it is perfect so I haven’t tested it. I am pleased with this. Serves me well.

But once the ppm of the salt solution exceeds 10,000, the salinity checker display went blank and was not able to read anything. Note that the instrument is rated to measure a ppm of 9999.

Answer:	The one that I received did not. Only brix so I returned it.

Answer:	Yes. But perhaps not in the way you are thinking. This measures the concentration of sugar in a sugar/water mixture. That ultimately translates to the final gravity of beer or wine AFTER fermentation (limited by the type of yeast used). Cheers!

Operation Instructions of Aquatic Refractometer:

1. Calibration: Accurate measurement depends on careful calibration. To calibrate the ATC salinity refractometer accurately, firstly you should make sure the ambient temperature is about 68℉.Recommend you do the calibration in an Air-conditioned room in which the temperature is set on 68℉. You can use distilled water to calibrate. Open the cover plate,place 2-3 drops of distilled water on the prism, then close the cover plate and make sure the water spreads across the prism without air bubbles or dry spots. Wait for about 30 seconds to let the reading to stabilize. Look into the eyepiece and turn the calibration screw with the screw driver until the reading is "0".

2. Clean the prism with soft cloth, and then place 2-3 drops of the liquid sample to be tested on the prism, look into the eyepiece and you can get the reading.

3. Clean the refractometer with soft cloth and put it back into the box.Keep the refractometer dry and clean, which can make the instrument accurate and durable.
