You will definitely want to use sand to fill the base as it is much heavier than using water. Answer:	Sand weighs more than water but water is easier to work with. Try it with water first. Depending on how vigorously you strike the bar you may find, like most people, that water provide sufficient ballast. If, after you use the set, you find you need more weight you can change the water out and replace it with sand. For the most weight, you can also use a combination of sand and water. Mixing both will give you the heaviest and most effective ballast.

Answer:	Three sides are completely closed. The forth side has a long slit across the entire width. The slit is about 1/16" wide and thus the Bubble is not air tight. I put kibble in my Bubble and it does not fall out. I do wish the slit wasn't so wide, because when I squeeze the Bubble I need to be careful kibble doesn't flow too freely. If you use the clip, the slit side will face down.

Answer:	You need the sand. You can knock it off smooth concrete with feet alone. Use polymeric sand in a sealed bucket from home stores. It's finer, pours easier and is dryer. It would take an exceptional punch to knock it over when filled with sand.

Answer:	Not really easily removed or inserted. Only water is much more easily inserted and removed. But it is much more easily tilted and rolled like a spare tire to easily move from place to place. You think you won't move it but you will find that you need it to be in the center of the room so you can hit it and it can give from the hit. then you need it to be out of the way when you are done.

Answer:	We filled ours with water. I am guessing that we added over 20 gallons. We thought of using sand but it seemed like it would take all day.
