Answer:	Hi there John, the large white unit is the transmitter. The wires in the ground connects to this and it controls the signal. The smaller unit is a lightening protector that reduces the risk of power surges.
Question:	How much wire will I need to get for about 2 acres of property
Answer:	Hi there, for 2 acres of property you will need a minimum of 1,200 feet of wire. It will probably be best to have a total of 3 spools of wire (500 ft. each) so that you don't run out as the layout may call for extra.
Question:	How many feet of wire is included
Answer:	This system includes 500 feet of 20 gauge wire. However, I did a good deal of research before purchasing this system and I found that this is was not going to be enough for my yard and more importantly, this 20 gauge is a very light weight wire and many people had to replace it after just two years. As a result, I did use this system, but I did not use the cheap wire that came with it. I, instead, went to FlexPetz.com and used their "Heavy Duty 16-Gauge Dog Fence Wire (1000 ft)". The SKU number was HD-16AWG-1000. It cost me $117.95 and the shipping was free. They also have a good selection of various lengths if you do not need 1000 feet. I finished installing my fence myself two weeks ago and it is working great. I have no complaints and I feel confident knowing that I will not need to replace the wire anytime soon.

Answer:	Thank you for this question! When using PetSafe YardMax Cordless Underground Fence for one to three sides of your property you will want to complete a double loop layout. First, run the wire around the perimeter. When you get to the end, make a U-turn with your wire and back-track around the coverage area while keeping the wires 5 feet apart. Answer:	We had some naughty teenagers walk by and try to kick out 3 of the pickets on one end. All they accomplished was to "dent" the pickets. I was able to bend the creased pickets back into position. The fence is in a sunny spot so the vinyl conformed back into it's original state within a few days. You'd never know there was any damage!

Answer:	Yes, it's easy. If you place two units the perimeter will be the shape of a figure 8. Moving them closer together changes the shape to a 0. The area inside is free range. Three can make the shape of a three petaled flower or a long potato. Four makes more of a square. An issue to consider is interference caused by buildings and such. You just need electricity and protection from weather.
Question:	how to set up the fence
Answer:	Hmmm, this is a whacky system of Q&A, as I see nothing relating to the product in question onscreen. I can only assume that it's for the petsafe wireless fencing system, because I reviewed it a long time ago. In which case, I'd recommend searching youtube "how to set up petsafe wireless fencing system" or something along those lines. That is what I did, and found not only that but also visuals on how to train the animal to it....and, just to add to my last review a year ago, thank you, Petsafe, for continually providing some of the best customer service that I have ever experienced.
Question:	Can the range of the system be reduced to something less than the 90 feet? We want to use in our RV so area for containment would need to be smaller
Answer:	Yes it can be reduced to a very small area. The PetSafe company has a video online that explains it very well and how to test the exact distance you have set by changing the dial on the transmitter. Some friends of mine take it camping ( when an electric outlet is available) to contain their dog within their campsite. Main thing to remember that the broadcast area is round. Also follow instructions on training your pet to understand the system which is also on the afforementioned PetSafe video.Hope that helps.

Answer:	If you have Internet through a cable company, it is possible for it to mess with your modem (not the wifi but the actual cable signal coming into the modem that gives you internet). It's really close to the upstream frequencies and could potentially cause problems

Answer:	Mine and many others (read reviews) at times go off randomly no where near the perimeter. My dog has been shocked as far as 30 feet from the boundary. It has happened enough that my dog is now scared to go into the yard at all. Customer service was no help at all. Save your money and buy a better brand. When the unit is working like it should, the distance can be set by a dial on the transmitter, anywhere from about 1 foot to 6 feet.

Answer:	I bought some cheap tubing from HD and ran the wire through the tubing and over the driveway. I think the tubing was for irrigation and would be found near the sprinkler heads at HD. It worked for years.

Question:	Can we add additional collars in the future for other dogs
Answer:	Yes, it did work for me. I got two small pet pygmy goats (Wethers), for the kids (pun intended). The goats have a large fenced in area, to keep out predators, however I sometimes like to let the goats out so that they can roam around our yard, and they never seem interested in wandering off. The only issue is that the goats would come on to our porches to poop and pee and eat also eat the potted flowers on our porches as well as the flowers planted around the house. it drove my wife crazy. so i put the wire around the house and play area, as a kind of reverse electric fence, to keep the animals outside of the invisible fence/circle instead of inside the invisible fence/circle as most people would use this product. I put the flags along the fence, and I also laid bright electric cords on top of the ground where the wire is so that the goats would have an additional visual queue on the location of the fence. When i ran out of electric cord I used bright orange "mark-it" spray paint to mark along the ground where the wire is located. I also followed the training instructions as closely as possible to get the goats used to the fence (maybe 10 minutes of total training per goat). From there the goats learned own their own pretty quickly. As I sit here to write this, I'm looking out my window at the goats happily grazing in the yard, outside of the invisible fence. The goats stay about 10' away from the fence and work their way around the house, without crossing over the fence towards the house. We've had no goats on our porch since we installed the fence. In my opinion its been a 100% success! This is my first time writing a product review...I hope it helps.
Question:	does the wire have to be buried
Answer:	Hi, your dog need rest. We don't recommend that your dog wear the collar all day. If you want to use it 24hours per day, that is not a problem, please dont worry.
Question:	How deep does the wire need to be buried
Answer:	Some dogs are extremely hard to train no matter what fence you may use. I believe this fence would work as well as any other.
Question:	Can you set it to do the tone at a certain distance away from the fence and then do the static correction as they get closer
Answer:	No experience with that.

Digital Transmitter

Dimensions: 4.5" high x 5.5" wide x 1" deep

The fence transmitter is the brain of your eXtreme Dog Fence. You not only set your signal field width here (which is the distance from the wire that the collar will activate), but you also program your collar's correction level here.

You can also change AM radio frequencies here, if you have a neighboring fence system that is causing interference with your fence.

The transmitter should be mounted indoors, so as to avoid any moisture getting into the electronics, and at least 3' away from any large metal objects.

Waterproof "Active" Collar

Receiver Dimensions: 1" high x 2" wide x 1" deep

Strap Dimensions: 3/4" wide (fits necks from 10" to 30")

Contact Probe Dimensions: small = 5/8", large = 7/8"

The "Active" collar is waterproof and submersible to 10 feet, with no impact on the receiver's performance.

It includes a long set of contact probes for dogs with long neck hair, and a short set for dogs with shorter hair. A set of metal infused rubber comfort covers are included to help keep the contact probes comfortable on your dog's neck.

The receiver weighs a mere 1.1 ounce and runs on a proprietary 6v battery, which lasts an average of 4 months (after the battery used during the training period).

14 AWG Boundary Wire

This heavy duty boundary wire is so durable that it allows for many installation options you won't find possible with a thin 20 gauge wire:

Burial: You can bury the wire from 1" to 18" deep

Above Ground: You can secure your wire to the ground, using 6" landscape staples at every 5' of wire

Existing Fence: You can attach the wire to an existing traditional type fence (if metal, it must be galvanized)

Waterfront: It can even be submerged into water, to allow your dog some swim area in a lake or creek

No matter your installation preference, this wire will perform for over 20 years, even in eXtreme elements.

16 AWG Twisted Wire

Specs: 16 gauge, solid copper core wire with .045 polyethylene jacket (UV resistant, direct ground burial rated)

This wire comes pre-twisted to meet the standard recommended 5-7 twists per foot.

Twisted wire can only be used in certain situations, and will not work in others:

Successful Uses:

1. When containing front and back yard, and house is not bordering containment area - The twisted wire carries signal from transmitter to the boundary wire loop
2. Connecting the main perimeter loop to a smaller loop inside the containment area (restricting access to a garden or swimming pool, for example)
3. Allowing an entry/exit point for your dog in a "Double Loop" wire layout.

Unsuccessful Uses:

1. In single loop, backyard only layout - Trying to splice twisted wire into the boundary wire to allow the dog to go in and out of the house without activating the collar
