Question:	How long does a 2 lb. box of Prowl usually last for the average to large sized cat
Answer:	That's a hard question to answer since I received only small pouches as samples. However...a 2lb box only contains about 4cups (1lb = 8oz), and I say "about" because with dry ingredients, it can be a bit more, or even less depending on the dried food settling in the box. My large boy, Simba, weighs approximately 18lbs. He gets a couple of 5.5oz cans of food per day. That's 11 oz of food everyday. Using Prowl will also depend on how much water you use to make it palatable to a feline's taste...and mine are finicky. Now...if this was just for Simba, out of a 2lb box of Prowl, he'd get 3/4 to 1cup of dried food mixed with 3/4 to a cup of water each day. I think you can see that a 2lb box won't last long. According to their own feeding guidelines, a cat between 6-10 lbs would get 1/2 cup per day (not including the water). At my house, a box of Prowl would last not even a week. In my opinion, contact them and ask for samples. A good business will always do that for future clients. I saved lots of money by doing that. My crew just wouldn't go near it. Hope this helped.
Question:	Can this product be prepared in advance and refrigerated for later use say, within three days? Thank you
Answer:	Yes, that is exactly how I use all Honest Kitchen products. It's really inconvenient to mix it up every time meal time comes around so I make enough for 2-3 days and refrigerate until I'm ready to use it. Sometimes you need to add a little extra warm water after the 1st meal because it can thicken in the fridge.
Question:	Maybe I'm missing something, but shouldn't cat food contain taurine? It's important for heart and eye health
Answer:	Cat food, in order to be balanced, must contain many things. Of which Taurine is extremely important and veggies are 100% useless. Cats can process squash but nothing else. So the veggies in this food are the same as using grain as a filler. I'd recommend almost any other food in it's price range.

Answer:	We use them as treats as is no water added or I sprinkle on top of our prescription wet food. But all of our babies LOVE them! As long as tour just using as a treat or occasional feeding then I'd say dry is fine. We add water to our wet food as well. Your cats can never have enough water.

Question:	Is this really $27.28 for less than one pound of food
Answer:	It's actually 3 pounds of food once water is added. If you look at the front of the bag, it shows that the 14 ounce bag of food makes 3 pounds of food when the correct amount of water is added during feeding.
Question:	Does anyone have any suggestions of what to do with the dusty, ground food meal at the bottom of the bag? There is a lot of it and I hate to waste it
Answer:	Actually, I run each serving (3 bricks/nuggets) through my mini-food processor in order to break them down. It had been messy when I tried breaking them down in the bowl with a spoon. I take the time to process the whole bag 3 bricks at a time ahead of time. I put each serving in a small zip-lock bag so that it's ready to put in the food bowl and add water to when I want it. Any remaining clods of food can be crushed with my fingers while it's in the bag, making it easier to mix with the water. I got this to feed a 20 lbs cat who had allergies that was making him lick areas bald and go into seizures, during which he peed everything. The vets gave him steroid shots which controlled the itching for only a few weeks, and I was told the meds would lead to worse problems over time. He was too fat to clean himself as well. The nuggets help me control the portions. My cat slowly lost 5 lbs, no longer has that itchiness or those seizures. His fur is soft and glossy now.

Question:	whats the protein and fat percentages
Answer:	The serving instructions are a bit vague as the instructions are written to provide this product in Tablespoons based on a cats’ weight. It would have been easier understood based on number of bites, since each freeze dried raw boost topper is quite large. For my 8 lb cat I feed her 5 freeze dried raw boost toppers per day. This is provided with her 1/4 cup of Instinct Duck and Instinct Rabbit dry food that I’ve mixed together. She has maintained her weight on this diet for the last 3 years.
Question:	How much should I use to top each meal
Answer:	Sorry for the delay. Yes, it is hard food. Use a fork to make a powder and then mix with wet food. My cat loved it. My cat also had teeth problems. It took some time to find the proper proportion of powder and wet food, try 25% powder 75% wet first. Too much powder = constipation. I hope it works for you.

Answer:	Of course that will depend on your serving size. However, the bag lists 1/4c for kittens and seniors and 1/2c for adults. I feed my 13# kitty both this (in smaller quantity) and dry food. So, it lasts several (~3)months. The first three ingredients are turkey,sweet potato, and whole egg; followed by 5+ real food items. You may also want to look at Prowl dehydrated foods by Honest Kitchen. The presentation difference is that Sojos is chunky; Prowl is primarily smooth. I feed both the same way.

Answer:	I was just there, so go log into the Honest Kitchen.com site and near the top, click on the "Help Center" and then the first choice is "How much to feed". It references a 7 and 10 pound box (various formulas), the weight of the dog and one column tells you about how long it will last. This would be a great place for you to start reading, think it will answer your question and more :) I have used their food for years....really and tried all of them. My dog as well as other is allergic to chicken, so we stay away from the formulas with that. It's great food and you won't find a better company with better practices (I really believe that). Question:	I have a 45 lb high energy pit bull; how long should I expect a 10 lb box to last
Answer:	According to the box, they recommend splitting the daily food into two servings, or 2-4 cups DRY per day with 3-6 cups of water. According to the box, this means one 10 lb box will last 10-20 days. My dog is around 60 pounds and also active (5 years old) and should get a little more than your dog. I can't afford those kind of prices, so I halve the amount of Honest Kitchen Force and supplement with Blue Buffalo Wilderness. So I get 1.5 months out of a box, and more than that from the Blue Buffalo Bag (40 lb.). Note that I have found Force available $5 cheaper at a local store than on the internet.

Question:	Is this as good as raw goats milk? I have a cat with liver failure I was told goat whey would help, but living in Ohio fresh goats milk isn't for sale
Answer:	I would give this a whirl. It's really a good product. I have one little one whose food has to be liquified and I use this in it. She's super healthy! If you are having liver problems, go get some powdered Milk Thistle capsules from the drug store and put in your cat's food. My vet really endorses me using this on a foster dog with high liver enzymes.
