I suppose that if your hamster tends to pee on the wheel often, that could create a potential slipping situation. So if your hamster tends use their wheel as a bathroom, a wheel with grippers on the track would help prevent slipping. |

| Answer: | You have to remove the hair pin at the front, separate the wheel from the metal stand, and pull the whole thing apart. The front, back, and middle are all separate pieces. I usually clean the middle green part every couple days and wipe the other parts down. The hair pin needs pliers to get off the first time, but it gets easier after that. |

| Answer: | This is a pretty silent wheel when the axel has been oiled lightly (use a natural hamster safe veggie oil). I found that my female syrian could get it moving and bouncing a little when she was REALLY running. I mounted it to a heavy round piece of wood so it could be weighted down and it never made noise. I had her in the bedroom with me for 2 years and it was silent, until she stored her food and half her bedding in it and then tried to run all night. |

| Answer: | I guess if they have adhesive in the back of the strips they can exercise and trim their nails as well. |

| Answer: | Yes, chinchillas are compatible with this. Make sure you get the 12" diameter one, the smaller one will not fit a chinchilla. Unfortunately, the stem isn't sturdy and tend to snap after about a month of use. I would recommend getting a stainless steel version. |

| Answer: | The large 12" fit my two Degus perfectly. The could run together or separately on it. The only down side was that the spindle cracked after about a month of use. After the 3rd wheel, we bought a metal saucer wheel. |
