Answer:	These clippers had no problem cutting through my female and male Doberman Pinschers' nails, which are thick and black. My Dobes are about 100 lbs each. Be sure to use the safety guard because they cut fast and easy.
Question:	Is the safety stop adjustable
Answer:	Yes and no. The safety stop can be rotated parallel to the blades to an "on" or "off" position but the depth of the cut is not adjustable. However, the distance between the safety stop and the cutting edge is only 3/16" so you can cut in small, safe increments until you have cut the desired amount. This approach works very well with my nervous rabbits because I can easily avoid cutting the kwik by mistake.

Answer:	I’m trying to decide if this the best of the newer cutters. I’ve got a German Shepherd mix, Tinker, with black claws, and an American Bulldog, Karma, with nice translucent nails. Tinker is so averse to trimming, even holding his paw, for any loving reason, is impossible. He’s so determined on this, he chews his nails off on his own, 20, 30, 60 or ... so LEISURELY minutes a date: he lies across my lap and bites and gnaws his nails. This resembles a king being fed grapes somehow. His contentment seems a result of doing work he knows must be done, (and doing a rather good job) and almost equally—his control over a situation involving nail trimming WITH A BIG SHINY TOOL and someone, one of his loving owners trying so gently to hold one paw, another, another. We rescued him from unspeakable people and treatment when he was four weeks old. His tail curls because it’s broken in two places, and old fractures are apparent even a year later in his hips. And more. He has NEVER wanted his paws touched, with light affection. He is the sweetest pup, but he will never really be healed. Ignorantly, we pushed just a little to cut one nail a few months ago; he carries enormous fear of most things, but though we outweigh our 50 pound Tink, we weren’t sure if he’d let us survive his powerful, aggressive anger that day. The outbursts are scary, but he’s never hurt me. We continue to hold his paws innocently, briefly with no agenda hoping for trust, maybe one day granting this set of humans the courageous gift of his full trust. Meantime, the American Bulldog (who was given up at the late age of 4, so Karma is in recovery also) came to us with Tinker surely seeming to feel a comfort she envied. My heart breaks and heals many, many times each day, these two refugees of the heart who only want to please, but are sometimes so painfully confused about what’s right to us, or what their complicated emotions cause. Karma wants to do what Tinker does, so now she’s also chewing her own nails. She terrible at it! Daggers! But she's refusing...The Bully Breed, they are professionally stubborn, could give TED Talks on the value of always standing your ground. What do we do?? Attempt to create an isolated time with her, and continue necessary cutting with extra love and peanut butter, many thanks for the distraction idea? (sympathy to the other Bulldog owners—their nails grow like bean stalks!). And yes, finally, on the subject of these tools—I’ve tried so MANY—are they good enough to get through the thickest nails like that, bulldog, pit bull, etc without that nauseating crunch? Are they a quick action cut, and do you have to squeeze extremely hard to ensure the clippers make it through completely? We will let him observe her nonplussed attitude in hopes of the obvious. I’m hoping to win her back over from self-trimming ASAP. I’d feel so lucky if these are the right tools for the job! Answer:	Yes, I would say it is. A few tips as I've been doing dog's nails all my life. 1) If the nails are long or you're unfamiliar with their nails, only trim the very tip. Do this every 7-10 days. 2) Bend their paws toward the rear. You can see their cuticle on the underside plus it won't pull their joint out and hurt them. Added benefit is if they try to bite, they can only reach your side. Nothing vital. Good luck!

Answer:	I've not used the 7700, so I'm not familiar with it. The dremel rotates horizontally. I have big dogs, so I usually trim their nails after a walk to burn off some energy first. They lay on their side w/me kneeling next to them to trim their nails. With my biggest dog (German Shepherd), I trim the nails on the feet on the paws she's laying on, then have her lay on her other side to do the same thing on the other 2 paws. The dremel has been a life safer. It's so much less stressful than a trip to the vet.
Question:	What size grit for small dogs should i use
Answer:	Eric II is our very small pedigree Maltese 2kg and we use 100 to 120 grit which is excellent for him. Hope this helps.

Answer:	The drum is the attachment to the dremel. It rotates like the electric toothbrush. The band is the replaceable gritted paper - like the Emory board you use to file your nails - that goes in the band and you would replace them as they wear out.

Answer:	If you've been paying attention the last couple years Wal Mart is cheaper on a lot of things, and quality control is a lot better in my experience - meaning, you're less likely to get open boxed returned items missing manuals and original packaging from Wal Mart. Also, Wal Mart offers free shipping, you don't need to step foot in a store if you're a prude. Prime is becoming more of an all-in-one media entertainment "thingy". Pure retailers will provide better shopping experiences as amazon continues to branch in different areas. Just simple observations. Amazon is also good for odd things like idk....taxidermy hippo head. Price is exactly the same right now for this product, but Amazon lists retail 45.99!!!!! trying to trick you into thinking they're giving you a hell of a deal, or something.
