Answer:	OK everybody, get our your rulers with inches on one side and metric on the other side. Looks like 7mm is just a hair over 1/4 ", so 9/32 is probably correct. 12mm looks a hair under 1/2", so I think 15/32. The typo is the 1 is missing from 15 in 15/32.

Answer:	Use the guards! I’m assuming you’re asking about a trim rather than a shave down. Trim with the guards on to shorten the hair and use a razor to shave it to a clean finish. People who don’t use the guards are doing it all wrong! Who the heck uses clippers straight up on skin like that. If you did, you deserved to get nicked.

Answer:	Yes it will. My long hair cat gets those too! The best way to get those off, I've found, is to use it without the comb attachements. I put the dial on 0.8 or 1.4. I get right in there, close to his skin. It doesn't hurt him, and the knots come off. Hope that helps! :)

Answer:	I am not sure what you mean as “long haired,” but Sampson is a black lab / Great Pyrenees and is more long haired than my black lab / Schnauzer was. You do have to use a circular motion for best results, although the typical “brushing” motion works. I would be afraid that using the circular motion may tangle a long haired dog (Golden, sheltie, Irish setter). Hope this helps.

Answer:	Yes! I have 3 long haired, thick coated cats and this brush is great for them. It really reaches down and helps pull out the deeper layers of fur, without any pain to the cat. On all three, it pulls out huge amounts of fur without much effort, and even 2 or 3 minutes of grooming leaves them noticeably smoother and softer. I still use a wire brush, but this is my main one.The cats also seem to like it - all three will sit still for it and purr while I'm using it. The hair clings to the brush a bit, but it will also get on your hands and wrists. It's easy to collect in a little ball and toss out. I don't find it much messier than any other cat brush.

Answer:	Yesss! Our 15-year-old cat loves it. He is short-haired, and I brush him with it daily. He literally DEMANDS to be brushed and massaged with it. I brush in the direction the fur grows, and it drastically decreases the amount of fur on my furniture and carpeting. I clean the fur from the brush several times each session. He likes to have the sides of his cheeks gently rubbed with it after the all-over brushing. This Kong brush is probably 12 years old and it is still like new. I bought one as a gift for my daughter who has two six-month-old kittens and one likes it more than the other does, but they love the attention and massage. They are too young to actually be shedding fur yet.
