| Answer: | I think the "1" refers to the age. I have a large breed but the chunks are not giant. Not tiny either, so for like a chihuahua, might be big? For a beagle or doxie size, probably ok. Chunks are about 1/2" sq and 1/4" thick. I have fed this for years (althoigh they do change it from time to time....it used to be "lamb". My current dog is neutered; previous 2 bitches were spayed. This helped with weight control. I do not feed canned. I do not put much water in it (hardly any). I think the dry crunch is good for the teeth. And my dogs have lived a long time...17, 16; current one 11 in excellent health; unusual for larger breeds. Vet is always VERY happy with their senior blood work checkup. |
