In the case of this dog food, the beef is sourced from the usa but all other variations are from "international sources" so I am trying the beef version. I will mix this with their current food and slowly transition. I would rather have 100% usa sourced ingredients but this is next to impossible to find.

Answer:	I had the same problem with "Wilderness". It am unsure what they call the "bits" in this food, but my dogs stopped eating this product, too, even though I LOVE IT. They don't like the flavor, even though the food is excellent for them. The grain-free / gluten-free aspect really helped my dogs' energy levels, playfulness, and overall "brightness" of appearance. I switched to another gluten-free brand, with the same positive results, and both dogs like the flavor much more.

Answer:	There is a difference between edible and industrial forms of canola oil. There is also a difference between cultivated rapeseed oil, the primary source of edible canola oil, and the wild variety, which is much higher in erucic acid. The FDA has determined that canola oil for humans and animals is safe. Sounds like the person who asked this question only picked up fragments about a discussion of canola oil. This is a healthy and safe kibble that I have been buying for my dogs for years.

Answer:	No, chicken meal is not a grain, it is dehydrated chicken. It's an ingredient that you want to see high on the list. A lot of dog foods will list chicken or other meats as the first ingredient which is deceiving because once the water content is removed from the meat, in reality, it's much farther down the ingredient list. When you see any meat "meal" as one of the first few ingredients, it has a high meat content.
