Question:	How is the texture supposed to compare to other flavors? We feed her lamb and beef, but the chicken flavor we just received is very dry and hard
Answer:	I find the texture soft when compared to the venison which is very hard...I add organic chicken broth to this and my girls love it. It is important to add liquid as the texture/flavor is enhanced.

Answer:	Maybe 15-18. I don't worry about the patties. It is the weight that I go by. At the bottom of the bag is powdery food but use it anyway. Fiona chomps it all down. She finally got over the 3lbs! Today she weighed in at a whopping 3.3 yay! LOL Life's little pleasures...that food is a miracle for Fiona and me.
Question:	How would this compare to giving raw meat? I live in a rural setting. I can get fresh beef or buffalo, or frozen. My dog is an outdoor German shepherd
Answer:	Unless you’re rich I don’t know how it’s possible to feed a large dog solely Stella & Chewy freeze dried patties. My dog is 70 pounds and he’d eat a $50 bag every 2-3 days to fulfill his calorie and nutrient requirements. If you have access to quality raw meat it will likely be much cheaper but more work to make your dog raw food. My dog loves Stella & Chewy food but it isn’t affordable to give besides as treats and even then it is by far the most expensive thing we buy even though he eats good quality dog food.
Question:	Why has there been such a huge price increase? I bought two 16 oz bags for $26 few months ago. Now one bag of 16 oz costs
Answer:	Two 16 Oz bags for $28 is not typically the price. The 25 Oz bag has always been $50 (some flavors even more.) the smallest bags are always at least $10 and the middle sized bag is always $30-ish. I wish they were cheaper, too.

Can ZIWI Peak be fed as a topper or mixed with another food? There’s no wrong way to feed ZIWI, it works great as a complete meal or as a topper for a nutritional boost on your existing food.

Why is there sometimes variability in my ZIWI Peak food? ZIWI Peak uses natural ingredients, handcrafted in small batches, featuring high inclusions of meat and organs and excludes artificial fillers, dyes and preservatives. This, in combination other natural factors such as age and seasonality of the ingredients we use, often results in variability of shape, size, color, texture and odor. This variation is perfectly normal and is an indicator as to how natural the food really is!

How do I transition my dog to Ziwi? ZIWI Peak is nutrient dense. A little goes a long way, don’t be surprised if you feed less! Introduce a new recipe slowly over 6-8 days, gradually increasing the amount of the new recipe while decreasing the old, until you are fully transitioned. Please refer to our transition guide on the packaging.

Can I rotate my dog through different Ziwi recipes? We recommend a gradual transition between proteins, to minimize the potential for digestive upset. Please refer to our transition guide on the packaging.

Question:	Garlic is contained in the main ingredient. but garlic is one of the most harmful foods as onion, plums and chocolate. Why? I cannot believe
Answer:	I was aware of chocolate, onion, garlic, grapes, raisins but not plums. Plums would be an unusual item to feed to a dog in any event. Note---a bit of milk chocolate is harmless. It is the dark chocolate and bakers chocolate which are the problem. My 90 lb. dog once got hold of about 10 hershey kisses, and when I called the emergency poison they asked for his weight. When I told them 90 lbs. they laughed and said it would take a couple of pounds of pure bakers chocolate to be a problem. PS Im not advocating feeding your dog chocolate. :)

Answer:	From the time we produce and package our Freeze Dried food, there is about 24 months until expiry. Heat, moisture, and light have the biggest impact on shelf life. Food is good until best before date that is located on the back of each package if stored correctly. Once opened, you can safely store ORIJEN Freeze Dried food in its packaging by resealing the bag after each use. Refrigeration of ORIJEN is not required. Rather than a garage with large temperature fluctuations, the best storage is in your home in a cool, dry place at room temperature.

Question:	Do you need to rehydrate this before topping the food
Answer:	It depends how you use it... if as snacks, no. But if as a meal or larger amount, yes. I like theither their wet food packets, I split one packet between the girls every 3 days as a special meal, there is left over gravy in the packet, I add warm water to clean out packet and poor it over the mixer and stir. They go CRAZY on these special days. It's really up to you. I use them as treats... very versitile. I love this line as do my girls!!!!! A 17 lb JRT and a 8LB mix.

Answer:	There should be an expiration date on the back of the bag, lower half. Should be around 6 - 9 months from the time you purchase it. This is the absolute greatest dog food period.

Answer:	It varies based on the size of your dog. For a Maltese I fed two to three cubes a day and at that rate probably enough for a week and a half or so.

Answer:	This product is a freeze-dried complete raw diet. If reconstituted with water, the 14 oz. bag equals about 3 lbs wet food. So, this is a very pricey food at about $10.00 a lb. The 14 oz. Bag contains about 56 nuggets- a chunk about 1/3 the size of a deck of cards. The bag instructs a 10 lb dog to eat about 4 nuggets per day to maintain weight. So for a 10 lb dog, the bag would last about 14 days. However, this is a very nutrient dense, ultra premium product, with vitamins from sources like organic pumpkin seeds, celery, ginger, quinoa sprouts, alfalfa, kelp, etc. It nearly approximates the ketogenic, raw foods diet that is popular among natural or homeopathic vets. I have a 58 lb dog. She would eat about 24 nuggets per day, or about $15.00 daily if fed exclusively. Answer:	My pom is 16 lbs and I feed her 8 nuggets for her evening meal. Nuggets are about 1" in diameter by 2" long but are easily breakable to mix with warm water

Answer:	Gosh, I never counted the amount of nuggets. I have a 23 pound French bulldog and he eats 12 nuggets a day. A 14 ounce bag of primal lasts 3.5 days usually.
