Question:	Can you open the bottom container without having to move/take off the top container
Answer:	The bottom of the top container has a lip that fits in the groove on the top of the bottom container. I find I can lift the lid of the bottom with the one on top enough to get food without having problems. More than enough to get food out. I couldn’t open it al the way, but it works well enough for my daily use.

Answer:	Big bin is 18-1/2" tall from the wheels to the top lid. 16-1/2 wide from side to side i measured the lid cause it is the widest part of the bin, the clear bin is 16" wide, side to side. front is 10-1/2 wide or 10" wide from the clear bin. The small bin is 6-1/2 tall. 16-1/2 wide, from the lid. clear bin part is 16".front is 10-1/2 wide. the bottom has a small lip that makes it fit securely on the large bin so you can move it around without having the small bin slide off. Answer:	No.... peanuts have a lower density than dog food. It would take a much larger container to hold 25 lbs of peanuts.
Question:	is it hard or softer plastic (like scratched by fingernail)? Does it absorb the food odors/flavors, or can you switch up what you store in them
Answer:	These are a hard plastic and in my home conditions with 2 dogs, does not scratch. One dog pushes/taps the bin when he knows it is feeding time. No marks or scratches. I keep a variety of treats in the top bin, and as long as you keep them tightly closed, (I use clothes pins to keep bags tightly closed as resealable pouches seem to break.) There is no cross aroma between the milk-carton type and the pouches. Some things I empty out and keep treats in better resealable bags simply to keep the bin clean. I empty the large dog food bags into the bottom, and there is aroma, but it doesn't travel up to the top. I did a smell test for you and there is no aroma odor on the plastic. We used to have different dog foods because of one dog needing softer food because she was old, and I just kept them in large zip bags. The smaller batches in the zip bags remained soft and fresh. No cross contamination between the bags and the poured in crunchier dog food. Overall, this has been a very good food container. The seals are really tight. And, if you change up food, I would just recommend washing out the bin with a very mild detergent or just plain water and drying thoroughly before spilling in the new food. I love this bin as it has made my kitchen so much more organized!

Answer:	I fit 48 lbs. of the Purina indoor dry cat food in the 69 qt. container. It has a little room to spare, but enough to put a scoop in it as well.

Answer:	Hi. I am using a 23 Qt container for 15 lbs. of bagged of dog food and that bag is in there very tight. If I poured loose kibble into the container, I could maybe fit another 5 lbs in there. My cabinet is 19 inches tall, and the container is 18 inches tall, so I can't use the wheels. And don't really need the wheels. It is 9 inches wide at the very top of the lid. Because a person is always adding new kibble to a dwindling supply of kibble being used, you'd probably need the next size offered. And if you're not keeping it in a cabinet, you would also need the wheels because 25+ lbs. gets heavy to lug around. Please let me know if other questions need to be answered, thank you. By the way, a really good alternative for containing dog food is the Vittle Vault series. It's food grade plastic, completely air, water, waterproof, varmit and light proof. They make the containers in all kinds of sizes now. And you can put the little redwood dolly (wheels) they make for under large potted house plants under the vault to keep it mobile and clean underneath. I have several of those vaults. Answer:	I returned mine. I didn't like the fact that the whole lid comes off when you open it. It is not hinged on the opposite side. I'm sorry I don't remember if it has a rubber and foam seal. I was not impressed with the quality. I think it would be a pain to use...
Question:	What are the dimensions, esp height
Answer:	Mine is the 23 Qt. size. (Dog Food = 18lbs). Height from top to bottom is 17+1/2 inches. Width across the top is 9 inches. The container is a little bit tapered down to the bottom. Depth, from front to back at the widest point, is a tad less than 14 inches. In a cabinet that 26 inches wide, by 18 inches tall, by 16 inches in depth, I can easily get 3 of these containers to fit, side by side. Hope that helps! Sorry, no I do not use wheels as it probably wouldn't fit then. But even with it filled with food, it's easy to pick up and move.

Answer:	Probably depends on the shape of the measuring cup. I personally think it’s get frustrating trying to stick a measuring cup in the whole especially if the container is not full. You definitely can’t fit your hand down the whole so not much working room to scoop anything from the whole area.

Question:	How do I clean this before using? There were no instructions
Answer:	I used hot water and some paper towels just to make sure it wasn’t dusty at least but I didn’t use soap because I didn’t want to miss any of it and put the dog food in it.

Answer:	There really isn’t a number of turns just don’t close it to tight . I have had mine for 6 months and it works great . I bought a smaller one for rice and I use it nearly every day and it works great too .

Answer:	no, our scooper came in great condition but we have yet to use it. I found it easier just to use a standard measuring cup found at the Dollar Store.
Question:	Why doesn’t the 35lb container fit a 34lb bag of dog food as advertised
Answer:	I have two 35 lb. vittle vaults. One holds a 30 pound bag of small bites food. The other holds a 25 pound bag of larger kibble for a much bigger dog. Both are equally full when I empty in a new bag. I would say the size of your dog food really affects how much it will actually hold. I ordered the vaults that were slightly larger than what I knew my bags of dog food were. I also empty the bag into it a little at a time, then shake the vault to gradually pack in the food. I have been very satisfied with my purchase.

Answer:	Yes, I think it should keep out moisture and bugs. It has a rubber gasket around the perimeter of the lid. The only problem you may have is keeping coons, skunks, rats out of it. The plastic could be easily eaten through by tenacious vermin. If you made a raised shelf with an enclosed metal screen, that may keep vermin out of it or prevent them from chewing through the plastic enclosure.

Answer:	IRIS does make some BPA-free containers, but this doesn't appear to be one of them (there's no mention of it on the product page: http://irisusainc.com/p-539-nmp-xl.aspx). The 65 QT MP 400 is described as BPA-free here: http://irisusainc.com/p-800-mp-400.aspx.
Question:	What is the width (widest point including lid) of the 28-quart container? How many lbs of dry food will it hold
Answer:	The container easily holds the 18.5lbs of cat food I purchase with a bit of room for my scoops. The front/lid latch side is 10-1/4"wide x15-3/4"deep(sides)x19-1/4" high (including the top of lid & with the wheels). Without the wheels it is 17-3/4"high. Wheels are sturdy, roll & turn easily. The sides of container are opaque & a front latch side strip4-1/" wide & running the height of container is clear= easy to see how much food is left in the container. The interior lid is lined all the way around with a white flexible seal & keeps the cat food fresh. My cats do not like or eat stale food (neither do I) & I have been battling trying to seal the large/small store bags of cat food for years to no avail. My cats are now eating down to the last nibble in this container. I am very happy with this IRIS container!
Question:	exactly how many lbs of dog food will this hold
Answer:	I put about 44 pounds in the 67 quart bin, with about 3 1/2" left at the top. So, I would guess you could get 50 pounds in the 67 quart size. The kibble I use is a smaller size: Kirkland Healthy Weight. I put the full 40 pounds into the bin, then stirred about 4 pounds of Science Diet into the top few inches, as I'm changing my dog's food. this left plenty of room for the measuring cup I use to sit on top of the food in the bin. I love this bin! Just the right size and I love that I can wheel it around, and that it's not ugly to have in my kitchen.

A raccoon toted one about 40 feet, got the lid off and enjoyed our "barn cat" food. Another raccoon ate many $'s worth of dehydrated meal worms. We are back to locking it all up. What a pain! :) Any suggestions??

Question:	Are the 10-pound containers stackable? Thank you
Answer:	They are not stackable. At least not designed to be. You can in the sense of if you wish to balance them, but the lids and bottoms do not match up. I was hoping they were but would not buy if you were intending on this.

Answer:	The dimensions are 12"tall x 9"wide at the widest point at the rear of container and 11.5" deep

Answer:	Yes I love them for storing flour. I own and operate a bakery and found the flour containers too expensive. These are great. they are also great for storing sugar. they have a tight seal around the lid. I purchased another brand that I had problems with the wheels falling off...but the IRIS seems to hold 50 lbs of flour with no problem. I have 5 of them for each type of flour.

Answer:	I use this for storing food and I love it. I have a mischievous kitten that gets into everything except this. It has a very good snap lock. I am really, really pleased with how it keeps the dry food fresh. If you wanted a nice bin for your litter, I guess you could use it. I buy litter in the 35# plastic bins.
Question:	Can these be put in a freezer
Answer:	It is 12 1/2x9 1/2 so I think it’s too big for a regular freezer. Maybe would fit in a chest freezer

Answer:	The specs said 33lbs but when I stared using it a 24lb bag was filling it close to the top. So I would say get the next size up for 33lbs.

Answer:	Weight and volume are completely different measurements. A 31.1 lb bag of Purina One completely fills it. To figure how much of your dog food will fit, convert your food to quarts, as this holds 47 quarts. Asking how many pounds of your food it will hold is an unfair question. All kibble is not the same.

Answer:	Im sorry I dont know, purchased as a gift and my sister said it was cheap plastic and used a storage tub instead
Question:	If these are full and you stack them do they keep their shape or do they crush and really not able to be stacked
Answer:	Mine has held its shape but the lids are flimsy and the bottom lid has cracked under the two feet from the bin on top. I have two of them stacked. The bottom one has 50 lbs of dog food and the top one is the same size but has 35 lbs of dog food. The top lid is bowing under the weight of a few boxes of dog treats and odds and ends that get set on it as we pass through the room. I've had them for more than a year. I still like them and am glad to have them, but wish the lids were stronger. And, I'd say they aren't for outside use; there are gaps in the lid hinges large enough for mice to get in and to attract racoons.
