Answer:	you must have it up too high there should be a space below the roof of the car ceiling of several inches--and then can securely strap on both right t and left headrest-- and velcro strap on middle headrest-- I think the issue you are having is that you have started securing the gate too high!!

Answer:	I have one for my crown Vic and it is about 31" top to bottom, 56" wide at the bottom and it narrows down to about 41" wide at the top. I know it was designed for the grand marquis and crown Vic but I'm not sure about the Excursion. Good luck.
Question:	Will this fit behind the very back seats of an SUV (in cargo area) instead of just behind the driver's seat
Answer:	It is curved forward and has securing straps that wrap around the head rest and outer side of seat to secure it. I used it in a GMC Yukon XL and there was some room at the top and down the sides so with some coaxing would work in smaller SUV. As long as you have something to attach the top and side to it should work. I made a 3000 mile trip with 3 german shepherds and 1 lab and despite trying to come over or around it stayed in place.
Question:	Does this work if a driver seat and the passenger seat are not lined up due to driver's seat pull forward for a short driver
Answer:	Yes it will work. The two seats do not need to be in a line. First attach the barrier to the head rest. Then adjust the seats to where you want them and then attach the stabilizing straps at the bottom of the barrier to lower seats.

Answer:	It would really depend on your vehicle. I just measured mine and it's about 31 inches in height. You will need about 45 1/2 inches width clearance for the top portion of the screen and 54 inches at widest point (which is at the middle horizontal bar). I have a 1999 Dodge Durango. I could probably fit it behind my second row seat. But, that is only because I have the third row seat option. I could have the third seat folded down. But the flap that lays to cover the opening between the cargo and the back of the seat would need to be folded up to allow the screen to fit height-wise. I love mine! But, I needed one that went behind the driver's seat to keep my retrievers from trying to crawl in my lap as I was driving. They ride in the second row seat with a hammock in place.

Answer:	My initial thought is no. I don’t know the measurements of your sliding deck, but I see 2 potential problems that you should check: 1. If your sliding deck needs to extend all the way to the rear seats, it can’t cover the 2 D rings located in the floor at the base of the rear seat. Note retaining bars that extend just inside the screen. 2. There is only about 2-3 inches of clearance below the screen...I assume that your cargo deck is too thick. Hope this helps...

Answer:	It is fully adjustable, so I would think that it would fit any vehicle. Trombone sections slide sideways, and height supports are also adjustable. I have a 2018 Escape, which is probably a similar trunk size to your Subaru.

Answer:	I had to take the unit apart and strapped the part that fit to the headrests with web straps. Works well.

Answer:	You have a lot of adjustment options and you can even install it upside down. It is very easy to take in and out of the car as well

Answer:	I use it in a full size pick up, opened up all the way and it works. I would assume it would fit in a Forester. It leaves a slight indentation on my ceiling, but doesn't damage it.
Question:	Will this fit s 2013 ford escape (the newer clone model of all suvs out there)? and does it stay secure
Answer:	I'm using it in a 2016 Subaru Forrester and it works well. It is very adjustable with two add on pieces to make it wider. I'm not sure about the Ford Escape but I would think as long as the main component of the barrier is not too wide for your vehicle you'd be okay. You can always make it wider.

Answer:	Yes it can I have 2 dogs about 45 lbs each. The only thing I noticed to just make sure the bars are clipped in place.sometimes the dogs can loosen them from the clips holying them. I would definitely buy this product again. It has a nice advantage of being able to fold down. And also the way it's mounted doesn't ruin the interior of the vehicle.
Question:	Will this work if i have coach chairs instead of the bench seats ? I am not sure it would secure the open space to the floor
Answer:	You must have headrest extended for the barrier to attach. It will work yes. The open space can be filled with a net which we do not have available. I hope this helps.

Answer:	No! It stays pretty tight to the headrests. I added a couple of zip tie on the sides to help. No rattling

Answer:	It might. I'm not sure I have a 2017 Rav4 that this works for. It should considering the ravs & escapes are similar width wise. The Explorer is a bit wider but not by a vast amount. Its a better deal than petco or petsmart they want way more.

Answer:	It fits my 2018 Subaru Forester. Not sure about the Honda. The sides are expandable. Check dimensions on the description.
Question:	What is the height from where it attaches to the headrest? Trying to measure my car to see if it will fit
Answer:	It attaches to the headrest in my Toyota Highlander at 4" from the bottom on the short pieces and 6" from the bottom on the larger middle portion. That leaves about 6.25" above the headrest attachment for the short pieces and about 10.5" above on the larger middle portion. Fits very well in our vehicle. Secured it to the headrest posts with a couple of plastic zip ties to keep it tight.
