Answer:	It is NOT waterproof. As I figured out the hard way when my dog got sick in his crate. Amazon just replaced the bed than Goodness! I ended up going to Walmart and buying a $4 twin size vinyl mattress cover. I put that on the foam, tucked in the extra vinyl and then zipped it all into the white cover. Answer:	So, Maggie is my 2 year old Rottie. She weighs about 90-95lbs. She is a power chewer but doesn't chew her bed. The angles of everything don't make it easy for her to chew, so no issues there. She does scratch vigorously on her cover and has for a year now and it has not damaged the cover. HOWEVER, she gets excited and jumps on it and slides it into the wall. She has just started to bend the corner supports. So I am replacing it with a new one. At $28/$30 bucks, it cant be beat! She loves her Coolaroo. Oh and it helps keep her off of her humans' furniture. I'm thinking because it is elevated. We just love this bed.

Answer:	I donated the bed, but as I recall it was at least 1” around the back and about 1-1/2” on the bottom. It was well made and the cover comes off for washing.

Answer:	No, even my English bulldog puppy, who chews everything, didn't destroy this one. Not sure why, maybe doesn't taste like his new Costco bed

Answer:	Do you want the beagle to have some extra room to move around in the bed, or do you want it to fit her/him fairly snugly. There are advantages to both. Having room lets a dog rearrange their body multiple ways in the bed. If it is fairly snug, it surrounds them comfortably and probably feels protective. A little 10 pound shihtsu visited yesterday and cuddled up in a corner and rested her head on the side. Sometimes her sister gets in there with her. So, they like big beds and small. It depends on what you want for your beagle. Maybe look at the pics of the dogs and their sizes and see what seems right. Our 50 pound Pit-Rottie mix fits very comfortably in the one we have with a little room to spare - I think we have the large. If so, you could probably go with a medium if you want it snug. I'll check the size and report back if I'm wrong that we have the large.
