Training Pads are ideal for puppies and dogs that stay indoors for long periods of time. What you should do; Unfold the training pad and place it in a confined area. (Blue plastic side down). It is important to place your puppy or dog on the training pad several times a day in order to get him used it. on the average, a puppy must relieve himself every few hours, based on his age (a 2 month old puppy every 2 hours, a 3 month old every hours etc). If your pet relieves himself somewhere other than the designated spot where the pad is placed, bring him back to the correct spot immediately. Keep in mind that your pet will have to relive himself shortly after a meal and will need to eliminate more frequently during the summer when his water intake is higher. The minute your dog begins to relieve himself on the pad, be sure to use cures like “go potty”. You should use this cue every time that your dog relives himself on the pad so that he associates the phrase with the action of elimination. Every time that your pet used the pad successfully, make sure that you give him a treat and lots of praise. Treating helps your dog to understand that he is doing what you want him to do. Always remember to dispose of soiled pads and replace them as needed. When your pet begins to relieve himself on the pads, on consistent basic, it is time to begin moving the pad closer to the door. Keep moving the pads closer to the door until they are actually outside. At this time, the training process will be complete.

Question:	I have elderly dogs. Will they know what these pads are for? They were not trained originally to use them inside
Answer:	IF you are trying to train your dog, do whatever you do to take her/him out for a bathroom break... but don't go outside. Walk him/her to the pee pad and use the leash to keep them there until they do their business. Follow with showers of praise... then let them off the leash. Do it as often as you do for going outside. Keep the routine as accurate as you can, just never go out... just take him/her to the pad. S/he will get the idea and when s/he uses it the first time without the leash, shower with praise as you always do. We follow with a small piece of a treat (we own a 9 pound Chihuahua - now about 12 pounds since we're really homebound these days... (grin)) as reinforcement, she almost never has an accident. In fact, her accidents are pretty much deliberate because we ignored her over something else, and she wants to get our attention (along with another treat...). Depending on your breed of dog and its experience with indoor plumbing, it should take no longer that 3-5 days for them to get the idea. * * * 𝐘𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 the one who has to be consistent with the training... (wink) They really do want to please you and follow your instructions. * * * Once s/he pees there, leave it as a scent reinforcement identifier until the pad gets soaked well and/or begins to smell before you replace it. * * * Ours was a rescue dog that was afraid to hear my voice or stand at her bowl to eat. She is the queen now after several years of better treatment and has all of us trained very well to her every whim and whimsy... LOL * * * Until that tme. . .

Answer:	NO they do not have adhesive tabs. You can use them just as is but they work the best with a puppy pad holder.

Answer:	I took a tape measure after a pad and came up with 18.75 X 20. Despite the size, they are some of the best pads I have purchased.

Answer:	These are HORRIBLE! I am a potty pad pro as I have 2 small dogs who have no idea what outside is, they only use the potty pads indoors and I can tell you from my very recent experience that these leak, track, do NOT turn into gel, and with a 10 pound dog and a 3 pound dog, they are not putting out that much urine to be flooding the floor under the pads every single time. And no, the pad is not dry to the touch after they go. One of my dog's is diabetic and I was able to get urine samples for his ketone tests right off the pad up to 15 minutes after he urinated. Yeah, it's that bad. I will stick with Amazon Basics pads, they are the best quality I have found, are about the lowest price, and do not leak. I would not recommend these at all! Hope this helps.

Answer:	Yes, you can buy a replacement cover for the large bed. It's just a little hard to find. The replacement covers are on the same page as the beds. They are the three right hand boxes at the bottom. To add to the confusion, they're referred to as "sheets". Contact Barkbox's excellent customer service if you need help. I just received two fleece covers which are made just like the original covers. They fit well, but are not yet dog-tested. I've had good luck with the original covers with the exception of the waterproof backing breaking down after 10 months because my young English Setter is a nester. I wash the covers in cool water and always dry them outside or on a drying rack.
Question:	How waterproof is the cover
Answer:	Not waterproof at all!!! Dog went pee on it and it went through the cover all the way into the foam. Unfortunately you can't take off the white cover over the foam. So even after washing the cover, the pee smell stayed in the foam and reeked our home. Had to throw away. Biggest waste of money and lie.

Answer:	The tag says it isn't washable which would have stop me from buying it if I'd realized it. I washed it after the dog got sick on it and while the bed came out fine, it's just... weird. It's like the water and soap beaded off and didn't do anything to it. It seems like scrubbing with a rag or paper towel does more to clean it. I guess if the water doesn't soak in, neither does the gross stuff. It is sturdy, and it's seemed to clean up enough that I haven't needed to pitch it yet.

Answer:	Yes, you can buy a replacement cover for the large bed. It's just a little hard to find. The replacement covers are on the same page as the beds. They are the three right hand boxes at the bottom. To add to the confusion, they're referred to as "sheets". Contact Barkbox's excellent customer service if you need help. I just received two fleece covers which are made just like the original covers. They fit well, but are not yet dog-tested. I've had good luck with the original covers with the exception of the waterproof backing breaking down after 10 months because my young English Setter is a nester. I wash the covers in cool water and always dry them outside or on a drying rack.
Question:	I have a chocolate lab puppy who chews up rugs and the paper pee pads. Wondering if this will last with him in his crate
Answer:	Not waterproof at all!!! Dog went pee on it and it went through the cover all the way into the foam. Unfortunately you can't take off the white cover over the foam. So even after washing the cover, the pee smell stayed in the foam and reeked our home. Had to throw away. Biggest waste of money and lie.
