Answer:	In my opinion, they seem to run a little large. I have a 100 pound mastiff mix. I measured his paw as per the instructions and ordered an XXL. They were way too big. I exchanged for the XL size and those are perfect.

Answer:	Measure the foot as suggested by the manufacturer. I don't know if your 80 pound golden is a big dog or an over weight dog. So I am not sure the size of its paws. My 55 pound Aussie, which was her perfect weight normally wore large but w/ these she wore mediums. You will need either large or extra large. Another thing to consider, my Aussie's front paws were larger than her hind paws. I am not sure if that is a norm for Goldens as well, if so, go with the large. Just guessing, but I think large would work for you.

■ Put a piece of paper on a hard floor, place the dog's paw on it and press down on the top, imitate how the paw spreads when walking.

■ Measure the longest and widest distance of the paw. We recommend you to measure all the four paws.

■ If your dog is in-between sizes, select the larger size.

■ If your dog has trimmed nails and hair, choose a smaller size.



Tips:

Please measure your lovely dog's forepaw and hindpaw both.

The size of forepaw and hindpaw are a little different.

Answer:	Yes, I would think that they would be helpful for her. They have been helpful for our (elderly) dog (after she had a stroke, she has been having issues with her equilibrium and gait) - she doesn't slip and seems to get around much better once they are on . The only trick is actually getting them on - they are supposed to be snug so that they don't fall off while she is walking around, but it seems to consistently be a 2 person job to get them on (one person to hold her foot steady and one person to actually get the sock on). She isn't a big fan of that whole process and she walks funny for the first minute or 2 after they are on but then she remembers how much easier they make it for her to walk around, and then she has no problem and things are golden :)
