Answer:	I recently bought the Jumbo size. Using a tape measure, the interior dimensions I got at the very BASE (floor) of the pan are approx. 16"L × 15.5"W. There are semi-rounded corners at the base, which I did not include in my measurements. The pan flares out a bit from bottom to top, so the interior dimensions I got for the upper portion of the litter pan (not including the hooded cover) are approx. 21"L × 18"W. The height of the pan (not including the hooded cover) is approx. 6.5" at the front end & 11" at the back end. I apologize if my measurements aren't precisely accurate, but it's a bit difficult to take exact measurements due to curved corners, tapered side walls, etc. Hope this helps a little, though. I do love this litter box and so do my "twin" 1-yr-old tabby boys, who already weigh 16 lbs each...Yikes! Now that I have a great litter box they both like, the bigger challenge is finding a low-cal. food they'll actually eat...no luck so far. Answer:	Any large cat liner can be used. However, I have found if you use good clumping litter, you really do not need a liner and if you have a cat with claws they will just tear them up anyways.

Question:	Has anyone tried using this with pine/cedar/walnut pellets? The pellets would need to stay in the top pan and the sawdust fall through
Answer:	The holes are too big to use pellet litter. The pellets fall through. You need the holes to be smaller so that the "sawdust" (pellets broken down from pee) falls through the holes to be dumped out, so you can save the whole pellets and put them back in the litter pan to be used.
Question:	Can this be used with non-clumping pine litter
Answer:	Yes, it can. I prefer it to the litter box meant for feline pine litter. You use this one differently, however. The litter is used in a solid bottom pan. I scoop the poop regularly and shake the pan to make the saw dust go to the bottom of that pan. After about a week, I empty the litter into the shifting pan and shakes the sawdust through to into the second pan. Toss out the saw dust and pour the remaining pine litter back into the original pan. It is fast and easy. The pans are easy to wipe clean.
Question:	How much litter do you add? How do I get the sifter back under the litter after emptying it
Answer:	Usually 3-4 inches of litter will suffice. Step 1.Lift the sifting tray and shake from side to side. clean litter will fall through sifting tray into bottom pan. Step 2.Clumped litter will remain on top of sifting tray. Discard clumps in a trash receptacle and then clean the tray. Step 3. Reassemble litter pan using empty bottom pan. Step 4. Pour sifted litter from original pan onto sifting tray. Add more clean litter if needed. Clean original pan and place under assembled litter pan for storage.
Question:	Anyone find a hood or method for keeping the cats from kicking litter out? I love the sifting but now I have to deal with litter outside the box
Answer:	I upcycle those wonderful Amazon boxes. Since my cats love those boxes anyway, I set one on it's side and slide the litter box into the open box. That way, I have sides and a top and the litter stays in the box. It also keeps mine from scratching walls near their litter box - mine love scratching cardboard. When I empty the litter box, I pour the spilled litter back into the clean box. By the way, the Amazon boxes are sturdy enough to spray paint if you need to color coordinate. The best thing is that if they destroy the covering box, I know I will have another Amazon delivery coming!

Question:	this is just a starter kit
Answer:	I love this litter box - though I wish I'd waited to buy it after the released the model with the hood. A few caveats. I don't know how anyone could swap pads just twice a week. I have two cats and 3 litter boxes - 2 breezes and one traditional with a hood. I change pads every 2 days. The boys alternate which box they pee more in, but in 2 days, one pad is full and the other is well on its way. To save money, I just buy a 100-count box of the smallest sized puppy training pads (I think they are like 22x22") and cut one fold's width from the length. Then I fold over the extra width and slide the tray back in. The over-sized pad just means it absorbs that much more before I change it, which is a blessing. And though I have considerably less mess, my cats do kick some of those pellets about. Careful, stepping on one is akin to stepping on a Lego. Mamaaaa!!
Question:	Have any of you ever reused/washed the pellets? I'm thinking about taking them out once a week and rinsing them in hot water to keep the box pristine
Answer:	I just want to follow-up on this answer and report that I have tried this and am not happy with the results -- but I think it could definitely work for other people (see Goldwave's response below). Honestly, I think the reason it doesn't work for me is that I live in and rent a 1 bedroom apartment without a utility sink for doing "yucky" things in (just my bathroom sink and kitchen sink), and I don't have a hose for the outdoor hook-up. Additionally, I don't have my own porch that I can leave stuff out on, I don't have a clothesline... Basically, if I had my own place, with a utility sink, and my own outdoor space and items, I think it would totally be doable, based on Goldwave's explanation below. But as it stands in my current situation, it did not work well. I had to clean out my kitchen sink, dump dirty water into it, clean it very very thoroughly.... Didn't have a way to hang up the pellets (in a newly purchased delicates laundry bag), so I left it sitting on something solid (plastic lid of a big orange Home Depot barrel) where I thought the sun woudl catch it while I was at work today. When I got back, the pellets were "clean" and 99% dry, but they were now darker in color than they originally come, some dust had come off of them (so I knew that there was only so long they could last if they kept losing their mass), and honestly, they smelled like cat pee. It's funny but when I originally dumped the pellets into the big Home Depot barrel, SOME Of the pellets smelled like pee (b/c my cat only pees on one end of the litter box), and the others had only a faint odor or a SLIGHT poo odor (b/c poo had been near those pellets but then the poo had been discarded) -- and I'm talking if I put my nose up close to the pellets, ya know? But once I combined them all together in a barrel, they all took on the same smell. And just to recap what I did, I: Poured all the used but not poopy pellets into a big Home Depot orange bucket (removing any pieces that were somewhat unclean looking but I KEPT the pieces that were darker in color because they had been saturated by pee -- I think this was a mistake!), filled with water and some white vinegar. Swished around. Covered up for half a day. Poured out the liquid. Covered again with water but instead of white vinegar, I used unscented Dr. Bronner's soap this time. Left that for another half day. Pour that out. Poured the pellets into the new delicates bag and then put it outside (as explained below). Ok, so my mistake, I think, was not removing all of the darker colored pieces that had been saturated with pee. Unfortunately, my cat does not pee directly over the slats of the litter box, which do not cover the entire bottom of the litter box. So some of her pee ends up coating certain pellets. I've considered picking them out when I scoop her poop, but honestly, they don't smell unless you put your nose right up to the litter box (and why would anyone do that unless they are testing out how well a litter box is functioning??). I *should* have picked them all out before combining them all in the bucket. If I ever do this again, that is what I will make sure to do. But I don't plan to do it again until I have a more suitable living situation to accommodate this kind of project. I have now thrown out those pellets, the Home Depot barrel, and the delicates washable bag. All in all, about $4 or $5 and some time/effort down the drain. Not that big of deal. Final recommendations:1) Have a utility sink and/or outdoor hose.2) Pick out any pellets that are saturated by pee before combining all used pellets in a barrel with water.3) Do not overly agitate the pellets with the water or you will lose mass.

Question:	Do you have to use these boxes? Or could you use a plastic or glass tray that fits the space and just refill the blue crystals? I'm OK with that
Answer:	One of the many benefits of ScoopFree litter is that it comes with filled trays, does not need to be handled or strained and when replacing it with a fresh filled tray you slip the used tray into the enclosed plastic trash bag for disposal. Question:	How does the dye-free crystals compare to the regular blue ones? I am interested in knowing because the price has risen $10.00 for the blue
Answer:	I like the blue better ONLY because I can see them better on the floor than the dye free, which look like shards of glass to me. They both work the same for me. And both track less than regular litter.
Question:	is there a bag to put old tray in
Answer:	Not that it comes with. What I do is get a garbage bag to slip the tray into. The lid covers it well enough however I am germ-a-phob and use a bag for extra coverage.
Question:	Is there a difference between dye-free and regular crystals? Contemplating switching over with the price increase
Answer:	Good question, Kamariah! The only difference between them is that the dye-free crystals are free of perfumes and dyes. They also come in trays made from recycled material.
