It was sturdy, the felt piece never fell off, however....in the spring of this year, the wand SNAPPED off a piece (about a 6" piece of it snapped off) as I held it and was playing with it with our cat! So, it lasted, in its original length, for just over two years. Even though it broke, we still use it. Of course, this happened way after the window of return or exchange! As to whether "the wand is sturdy and rigid or more flexible"? The wand can bend a little, like when our cat is tugging on it as she's playing. And, I can say it's sturdy.....but just know that it CAN break unexpectedly.

Question:	What's the difference between ultra and regular
Answer:	Ultra has the lid which is why it is $169.00 without the lid it is $139.00. The base of the litter box at a step counter (how many uses) and timer intervals of 5/10/15. The 2nd generation appears to have a small front lip which my cats tender to pee towards the front so with shorter front step the pee gets on the cardboard replacements. I have both ultra and 2nd generation- with two cats I prefer the ultra. In my opinion it is made better. The 2nd generation doesn’t have the timer intervals and the front step is cheaply made.
Question:	How do you know it's time to change the tray? We have a kitten, so will it go longer at first
Answer:	I change the litter (we use the Forever Litter Tray) after about 24 uses - that's about 4-5 days in our house with 2 cats. Our cats must pee in larger amounts, because at 24 uses, I start to notice a smell from the box and the litter looks saturated. I see other owners that get 50-100 uses before they change out the litter. For a kitten, they would pee in smaller amounts, so it should last quite a bit longer.

Answer:	Manufacturers response is bogus. I have 3.1 and 3.2. 3.1 is about six months old and I have had almost no problems with it. 3.2 is total garbage. Never cleaned well. Always looks dirty. The comb set up makes it so it doesn't rake well. It jammed every day until it died last week. It is 3 months old. Do not waste your money on 3.2! (And the blue color shows all the cat litter dust so that was just stupid design).

Question:	It says a tray lasts 30 days, but my cat's urine always goes through the bottom of the box and the bathroom smells terrible from urine leaks
Answer:	We have one 3 y.o. male cat. In addition to the crystals, I typically add some arm and hammer cat deodorizer both when putting in a fresh tray and again every 10 days or so to help with liquid absorption. This is usually sufficient to get 28-30 days out of the litter without worrying about a strong persistent urine smell.
Question:	I've had mine three weeks and my cat refuses to use it. I will have to send it back soon. Any suggestions on getting him to use it
Answer:	My only suggestion is this: try using 1/2 CRYSTALS & 1/2 of your regular kitty litter that you were using. I did this for my 3 cats and they all took to it fine. After a couple of weeks, I was able to stop using the old litter & now I only use the Crystals which last so much longer. Good luck, because it is a wonderful litter box!

Answer:	The litter robot is, bar none, the best automated litter system out there (and has been for many years). The only downsides of the litter robot are the size (it’s so, so big on the outside for being not that big on the inside, and won’t even fit in a smaller bathroom. The other downside is the cost, but I’ll be honest and say that it’s worth every penny in the long run. If you have the space, and you can afford it, get the litter robot and don’t look back. Fwiw, we have 7 cats at the house right now (2 of ours, 4 foster kittens who are nearly full grown due to Covid shelter closures, and a cat we rescued who is going to his new home next week), and a single litter robot is EASILY handling 7 cats worth of waste. We just change the little plastic bag in the bottom drawer every other night instead of once a week. It’s amazing, there’s zero smell, it works for years without issue (this is our second. Our first lasted 6 years for 4 cats).

Answer:	There are only 3 differences, and for the record, I bought the Original and I love it and it does fine for what I need. So here are the differences:1) Ultra has a Privacy Hood. I don't need that. My cat has no shame. She can go out in the open. If your cat is used to having a little more privacy, maybe you should get the Ultra. But if not, it's not worth the price increase (although it looks like, right now on Amazon, the Ultra is actually $4 cheaper, so...).2) The Ultra has an Adjustable Rake Delay. Now, I can see how this might be an attractive feature. The Original has a preset delay, and I'm guessing it's about 20 minutes (the max setting on Ultra). That can be kind of gross because I don't know why the waste would need to sit that long before being scooped. So with the Ultra you can shorten that time to 5 or 10 minutes if you prefer.The thing about the rake delay is that on the Original (and probably Ultra too) there's a button so you can manually control the raking. This means that if I'm home and my cat makes it stinky, I can walk over to the machine, push the button, and the rake will scoop because I told it to. When I'm not home, the smell obviously doesn't bother me. So this is like a luxury feature if you don't want to go push that button every once in a while. But for my needs, the Original is just fine. 20 minutes is fine. If she only urinates, then I don't need it to scoop right away, and if I'm around when she makes a poo, I can just go over and push a button. If you don't want the waste ever sitting in the tray for 20 full minutes, then get the Ultra and you can program it to scoop at 5 or 10.3) The Ultra has a Health Counter. I have a kitten, and she's fine. I'm not overly worried about her health. But if your cat is older, this is a way for the box to track how often your cat is using the box. I suppose if the box feels your cat is using it too frequently, it might be able to alert you to a health problem so you can take your cat to the vet. But for me, I don't need it.The Health Meter doesn't measure the "life" of the litter. It isn't like "Oh, this litter is getting pretty gross in here you should probably put in a fresh tray." And that, to me, might be more useful. But it's not a huge deal as it's pretty apparent when you need to change trays because the crystals get more white than blue.So like I said, I have the Original and I love it and it's perfect for what I need out of an automatic litter box. However, if you have an older cat, a more sensitive nose combined with limited mobility, or your cat is used to privacy, the Ultra is the one for you.With all that info, again, I notice that the "luxury" version is currently cheaper on Amazon. Answer:	The price goes up and down, but it certainly has gone up over time. THE GREAT PROBLEM, though, which I am writing as of March 2017, is that they CHANGED the refill system. There are less pieces (which I assume means more profit) but it now takes me about 12 minutes to change the litter, whereas the old system was about 4 minutes. THIS IS TERRIBLE AND I WILL BE LEAVING THEM. The whole point of scoop free was that it was easy to swap out the trays.

Question:	How does the diameter of the bowl compare to the older version
Answer:	Thank you for such a great question! The diameter of both versions is about the same, around 19”, but we have re-positioned the conveyor and made some plastic pieces in the bowl smaller, giving your cat about 20% more usable space in the litter bowl. The bowl is also deeper with a higher litter guard, ensuring that litter stays in the actual bowl.
Question:	I had the previous model of this litter box. I loved how it worked, but the motor burned out twice in a year. How long is the warranty for this model
Answer:	The first year, the motor broke three times. They sent me new litter boxes each time. The third time, the guy sent me the new model with a motor that can be removed. That litter box lasted quite a while. It just broke again (probably my fault for letting the box get so full), and they are sending me a new motor. It's way past the warranty date on the original box that I received. So, although the motors do break somewhat frequently, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this box. The new model has a good motor, and when they break, the company replaces it. I have no worries about durability when their customer service is second to none.

Answer:	Not that it comes with. What I do is get a garbage bag to slip the tray into. The lid covers it well enough however I am germ-a-phob and use a bag for extra coverage.

Question:	I have back issues, is this litter box heavy to lift
Answer:	Not moreso than most others . The lid does not add much weight. If you reach a point of needing to dump the entire box of litter (which I recommend periodically) it will be heavy because of the litter, unless you scoop it out. But, there are lightweight cat litter brands, if that helps. The box is not heavy to roll back and forth, but of course, you have to bend or kneel down, and that might be more difficult with some back problems.
Question:	When changing the litter out from used litter to new what do you do? How often? Do you spray container out with hose? Suggestions
Answer:	The litter changes itself because a certain amount of loose litter is sacrificed along with the clumped waste. Thus you needn't do anything. It is quite difficult to clean out any clumping litter with a hose, for the bentonite clay is quite water resistant. You have to sort of scrape it off. Thus we roll the boxes over every day and don't concern ourselves with more--the cats don't mind and we detect no odor.
Question:	Has anybody ever used this with natural clumping litter, particularly World's Best
Answer:	I use it with World’s Best in the red bag and it works well. I just bang the bottom when it’s upside down to knock off anything that’s sticking. I also flush it and that’s fine too, although I end up cleaning the toilet more often.

Question:	What can I do if the ramp breaks off
Answer:	The plastic ramp has little hooks on either side that hang on a rod by the waist receptacle. I would use a Dremel to make a hole in the ramp and use a paperclip to go around the rod. Better yet contact the manufacture and get a replacement for the ramp. The ramp has notches to hold the cover for the waste receptacle when cleaning and falls back in place to close and cover the waste when done so the ramp seems important for the design. Answer:	I have a 98lb German Shepherd that runs the fence. I anchored 14 rolls of it into the ground. It took about 4 months for him to completely stop running on it. He did run on the top of it at first but I gave it time and he has stopped running on top of it. I have a different brand but the same stuff. Its the only thing other than an e-collar that works.

Question:	Litter for self cleaning litter box
Answer:	I placed my 3 cats on the top of my new cedar fence (I have the "wrong" side) by setting them, without the triangles, on the top horizontal 2"x 4", then using the holes meant for the triangles to screw them flush against the part of the pickets that stick up higher than the 2" x 4". That means I get to see the whole cats, and the people on the other side see the cat heads, with the sun gleaming on their green marble eyes. The same way any critter travels along the tops of fences. And I covered the top, "hanging", holes with a little snip of black electric tape (Gorilla tape would work) so they don't all look like they've been shot in the head. It's really cute, if I say so myself!
Question:	how long does one filter last
Answer:	I bought a set purely for garden decor because it's a joke that neither my living cats nor this set of "scare cats" has any impact on keeping rabbits away from plants. Deer, rabbits, squirrels, chipmunks, raccoons, mice, opossum, groundhogs and skunks wander by the "scare cats" at all hours of the day and night without a second glance. You might want to try one of the organic or chemical deterrents that are available in granules and spray. Check with your local AG office to see if anyone has any suggestions. I've just learned that the critters were here first so I don't let the wildlife bother me too much and I'm thankful for a really good local farmer's market where I can buy produce that someone else has saved from the bunny population.
