11 best gl flea collars for kittens

GL flea collars for kittens are a type of pet product designed to help protect young cats from fleas and ticks. These collars are specifically tailored for kittens, as their smaller size and weight require a different formulation and dosage of flea and tick control compared to adult cats.

Here are some key points about GL flea collars for kittens and their relation to Flea Drops, Flea Tick Control, Cats, and Pet Supplies:

  1. Flea and Tick Control: GL flea collars are primarily used to prevent and control infestations of fleas and ticks on kittens. These parasites can cause discomfort, skin irritation, and even transmit diseases to your pet.

  2. Kitten-Friendly: GL flea collars are formulated to be safe and effective for kittens. They are designed to fit comfortably around a kitten's neck without causing irritation or discomfort.

  3. Long-Lasting Protection: Many flea collars offer long-lasting protection, typically ranging from several weeks to several months. This can provide continuous defense against fleas and ticks without the need for frequent reapplication.

  4. Pet Supplies: GL flea collars for kittens are categorized as pet supplies, specifically under the section for flea and tick control products. They can be found in pet stores, online retailers, or through veterinary clinics.

  5. Application: To use a GL flea collar, you typically place it around your kitten's neck, ensuring it fits snugly but not too tight. The active ingredients in the collar gradually release to provide protection over time.

  6. Consultation with a Veterinarian: Before using any flea control product, including flea collars, on your kitten, it's advisable to consult with a veterinarian. They can recommend the most suitable product for your kitten's age, weight, and health status.

  7. Monitoring: While flea collars can be effective, it's essential to monitor your kitten for any signs of discomfort or adverse reactions. If you notice any unusual behavior or symptoms, contact your veterinarian promptly.

It's crucial to choose the right flea collar for your kitten's age and size and to follow the manufacturer's instructions for proper use. Additionally, remember that while flea collars can be part of a flea control strategy, maintaining a clean living environment and regular grooming of your kitten are also important in preventing flea infestations.

User questions & answers

Question: I have 3 cats, they usually licking each other, I was wondering is there any problem if they keep doing that while using their collars
Answer: Hello, cats are notorious for their cleanliness and being tidy. Not only will they spend time grooming themselves but also other cats as well. Because of this, Seresto was carefully designed with this mind by using ingredients that can be used on cats, even if they groom themselves or their other feline friends. We would not anticipate any issues with Seresto treated cats grooming themselves or other feline companions.
Question: Its been a few weeks and both cats are still biting at their fleas and after bombing the house i am still being bitten. Why is this not working
Answer: Hello, thank you for letting us know about your experience. It is not an uncommon scenario to still see fleas on your pet. In fact, it is an expected and normal part of treatment process. This is true of any flea product. The important part is to stay the course because treating a flea infestation takes time, sometimes up to several months. The fleas you are seeing on your pet today are not the same fleas that you initially saw when you applied Seresto®. This is because these are new fleas from the environment (home, yard, carpet, bedding, etc.) that have since developed into adults jumped on your dog. As the weeks go by, these developing stages should eventually run their course and disappear. Vacuuming carpets, washing bedding and keeping your yard trimmed can help speed this process up. Also, it is important every pet in the household be treated for fleas, otherwise the infestation will linger. We would be happy to help answer any questions by calling our veterinary team at 1-800-255-6826.
Question: Are these really odorless? I can’t stand the smell of flea collars
Answer: I never smelled anything bad from them. My little dogs are next to me all the time and I never smelled the collars. They work so well on my pets I don't have a flea problem anymore. I love them and will keep buying them.
Question: Are both collars in the same can or separate
Answer: Hi, thanks for reaching out. There should be one Seresto® collar per can.

FRONTLINE Plus Flea and Tick Treatment for Cats

Made with two tough ingredients, FRONTLINE Plus helps you rid your pet of fleas and ticks, and prevent further infestations.

The first, fipronil, attacks adult fleas and ticks. The second, (S)-methoprene, attacks flea eggs and larvae. They work together to exterminate all month long.

FRONTLINE Plus also breaks the flea life cycle by destroying the next generation of flea eggs and larvae—giving you the power to help prevent a flea infestation on your pet.

Because it stores in the sebaceous glands in the skin, it constantly replenishes the protection for 30 days, working even if your pet gets wet.

Break the Flea Life Cycle

Flea infestations start with just two fleas laying hundreds of flea eggs within a matter of days. FRONTLINE Plus prevents an infestation by not only exterminating adult fleas—which comprise only 5% of the total flea population—but also by destroying flea eggs and larvae too.

User questions & answers

Question: Does it have a smell - chopped it up put in wet food cat would not touch it
Answer: No it does not smell. Do not chop it up . Take a little bit of the cat food and roll the pill in it. Then place the pill covered in cat food on top of the rest of the cat food. Make sure your cat is hungry, like the first thing in the morning.
Question: Can this be given in addition to a topical flea solution
Answer: A vet tech told me it is ok , but I play it safe and apply the topical (Advantage) 24 hours after the Capstar.
Question: Is this the medicine that makes the cat act nervous like something is biting it after about 20 minutes giving the pill
Answer: Capstar affect the nervous system of the fleas and they get spastic. The fleas get into a frenzy and squirm around on the cat. All that movement on the cats skin drive them a little crazy for 30-60 minutes.
Question: What is the difference between this and blue label Capstar
Answer: I would call the company, and see if they say, "We can get double our money for anyone with a small dog AND a cat." Many do not like cats as well as dogs and if the designers of this drug are members of those who like one species of pets, they may not care if your cat gets poisoned. and there are many foods that cats or dogs find poisonous, and for many who have indoor cats, the pills may expire before needing to use more.

Bayer Tapeworm Dewormer (Praziquantel Tablets) for Cats, 3-Count Praziquantel Tablets for Cats and Kittens 6 Weeks and Older

Bayer Animal Health- Pets

Based on 20 reviews Check latest price

Product description

If your cat has had fleas, there’s a chance they have tapeworms too. Tapeworm segments look similar to grains of white rice and are visible when stuck in your cat’s hair under the tail or by the back legs or in their poop. It’s not always obvious that your cat has tapeworms, so the best way to identify a problem is through an exam performed by a veterinarian. Use Bayer Tapeworm Dewormer for Cats to treat your pet. Cats' everyday grooming behavior puts them at risk for ingesting fleas, which means a risk of tapeworms. Fleas can carry immature tapeworms, and they are the main source of tapeworm infections in cats. A cat that has been infested by fleas may develop tapeworms. Outdoor cats that hunt small rodents may be at risk of infection from tapeworms as well. In addition to treating with tapeworm dewormer, take steps to control fleas and rodents on the premises in order to prevent reinfection; Otherwise another round of the tapeworm dewormer for cats will be necessary. This is especially true in cases of tapeworms transmitted by fleas where reinfection is almost certain to occur if fleas are not removed from the animal and its environment. Consult your veterinarian for assistance in the diagnosis, treatment and control of parasitism. Keep away from children.

  • 3-count bottle of tapeworm dewormer for cats
  • Easy effective way to remove common tapeworms in cats
  • Tablets may be crumbled and mixed with food or taken by mouth
  • Tapeworm Dewormer for Cats will remove the common tapeworms, Dipylidium caninum and Taenia taeniaeformis, from cats and kittens
  • For use in cats over 6 weeks of age

User questions & answers

Question: Do the bottles not come with a protective seal on them
Answer: The bottle that comes from Chewy's has a protective metal seal under the cap. If it does not have a seal, beware. I ordered a bottle from Amazon and will get it tomorrow 11/25/2019. I will update if it does not have a seal.
Question: I have 2 cats do I have to buy a bottle for each
Answer: There are 3 tablets in a bottle. 1/2 tablet for 4 lb or under cat, 1 tablet for 5-11 lb cat, and over 11 lbs 1 & 1/2 tablet. So it depends on the weight of your cats. My cat is medium-small, so I gave him 1.
Question: How quickly does this kill the tapeworms
Answer: Very quickly but it's recommended by my vet to do a second dose 2 weeks later. I have no problems administering pills/capsules of anything if I use, depending on the kitty's preference, chicken, fish, or BACON (most seem to truly love bacon flavor) flavored pill wraps (available as a paste on Amazon!).
Question: my cat refuses to eat food with the crushed pill, it tastes bad to her. How do you get the pill in her
Answer: MY cat WILL NOT eat his food if pills are crushed in them. He can taste it.. I used to have the WORST time trying to get my stubborn kitty to swallow a pill. It would take me a minimum of an hour (..and numerous scratches) to get a SINGLE pill down his throat ... **UNTIL I watched a YouTube tutorial on how to administer a pill to a cat.. after watching I thought "this will never work with MY cat..", but I tried anyway way and I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT.. It was like a miracle! I got him to take the pill in like 10 seconds! I can TRY to explain it to you, but it's SO MUCH easier if you just watch ther tutorial video of them actually doing it.. 1. place your cat in front of you, cuz they tend to back up to avoid it. 2. Put your finger in btwn their back teeth to enforce them to open their mouth 3. Put a little wet food on the pill so it'll slide down easier 4. Put the pill in the back of their throat & IMMEDIATELY close their mouth, pointing their nose to the ceiling WHILE rubbing their throat in a downward motion.. WATCH THE VIDEOS.. They saved me so much time & energy attempting to administer the pills..(not to mention all the scratches & bites.. lol) Good luck!

User questions & answers

Question: Anyone else notice that recent capsules/powder have unpleasant smell
Answer: Yes! Ordered 2 bottles back in Jan. 2017 (both with EXP date on Jan 2020), one bottle was ok but the secomd one had a very strong distinct stale smell right as soon as I opened it; gave it to my cat anyway, less than a week after he developed a bad itchy reaction all over his head to the point I had to take him to the vet where we also compared the Cosequin bottles and the vet agreed that mine had a very bad smell. I've been using Cosequin for about 2 years, pills have a bit of smell but not that strong and aweful smell I experienced last; cannot return it cause, by the time I opened the second bottle 30 days has gone by :-( . Next time, 1 bottle at the time and I won't order from a third party merchant.
Question: I see no msm in this. I thought cats needed this as well. Has anyone tried something with msm? Does it make a difference
Answer: 1."MSM" stands for "Methylsulfonylmethane"; and Chondroitin is basically the Chondroitin Sulphate form in the joints.2.MSM helps in controlling rheumatoid arthritis; Chondroitin helps in controlling osteoarthritis.Pasted from Cosequin® for Cats?Cosequln, the #1 Veterinarian recommended retail joint health supplement brand, plays an important role in maintaining optimal joint function. Healthy articular (joint) cartilage is crucial to joint utility. Cosequin helps support cartilage production and protect against existing cartilage from breakdown. Cosequin contains FCHG49® Glucosamine Hydrochloride and TRH122® Sodium Chondroitin Sulfate*, an exclusive trademarked combination of ingredients. Cosequin is manufactured following standards similar to those practiced by the pharmaceutical industry. There are not many joint support options available specifically for cats. There are some products used in dogs that are not as safe in cats. Cosequin for Cats has been shown to be safe in cats. Cosequin provides joint health support while maintaining your cats comfort level. Some veterinarians also recommend Cosequin for cats to help support urinary bladder health. The inner lining of the bladder wall is protected by a layer that contains some of the same compounds found in cartilage. This layer helps protect against urine and the waste products contained within it from seeping into and affecting the inner lining of the bladder. Since the low molecular weight chondroitin sulfate found in Cosequin is available to more than just cartilage cells, the bladder may use it to help support this protective layer. Cosequin for Cats comes in a convenient sprinkle capsule specially formulated for cats. Pasted from For Dogs: All of the ingredients used in Cosequin are listed on the manufacturer's web site. The formula is a combination of Glucosamine HCl, Chondroitin Sulfate, and MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane). MSM provides elemental sulfur, a basic building block for joints and cartilage. However, MSM has not been recognized as GRAS (Generally Recommended As Safe) The purpose of this product is to provide support for healthy connective tissues in aging dogs. - Pasted from No mention was given to usage in Cats. However after research : Nutramax Laboratories does has a supplement "Cosequin® for Cats - Professional Line" with Boswellia Serrata Extract --- Extracts of Boswellia serrata have been clinically studied for osteoarthritis and joint function, particularly for osteoarthritis of the knee, with the research showing a slight improvement of both pain and function compared to a placebo.4 Positive effects of Boswellia in some chronic inflammatory diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, bronchial asthma, osteoarthritis, ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease have been reported.5 A Boswellia extract marketed under the name Wokvel has undergone human efficacy, comparative, pharmacokinetic studies.678 Some see Boswellia serrata as a promising alternative to NSAIDs, warranting further investigation in pharmacological studies and clinical trials.
Question: Can this safely be used with begining stage kidney issues
Answer: I called the company (888-886-6442) because my 16 yr. old cat also has kidney issues and I was told by them that it is fine to given them the Cosequin. Their safety studies have shown no problems. FYI, my cat has shown good improvement with the product.
Question: Can you break the capsules into the cats food easily
Answer: I open the capsule and thoroughly dissolve it with 1 teaspoon of water. Then I thoroughly mix it with 1/2 package of Delectables Bisque, Senior 15 years+ for Digestion and Kidney Support (Tuna & Chicken flavor). My 18 year old cat is extremely finicky but she will eat this combination. She leaves the chunky portions of the Bisque and I wonder if she can't lap it on her tongue. Initially I gave her the Bisque and added the Cosequin a week later. That little bugger could smell the Cosequin and refused to eat it. I kept putting it out and I think she liked the Bisque so much that she caved and started eating it with the Cosequin.

Question: LICE
Answer: It worked on lice for the cats I put it on. One of them had a bad infestation. She’ll need more applied again. The life cycle is 3-4 weeks of a louse.
Question: How do you get the packaging open from Walmart? It is in a hard plastic case. Cannot open
Answer: Did you steal this? The hard case is for anti theft. The product is taken out of the case at checkout. Take your receipt back to Walmart and have them take it out of the case!

User questions & answers

Question: Can this be used on kittens
Answer: Cheristin products do not have an expiration date on them. This is because they are controlled by the EPA, not the FDA. The EPA says that because these products are produced with 5 years of shelf life and that they are packaged in either 1 packs or 6 packs, it is reasonable to assume that they will be used within 2 years and therefore no expiration date on the packaging is required.
Question: Do I need to separate other pets
Answer: Not that I have noticed, but I have sinus issues so may not be as sensitive to smell!
Question: i couldn't find the product for kitten less than 1 pound (about 4 month). can this one work
Answer: No. Cheristin is for cats only.
Question: Does this come in 4 dose
Answer: Yes rhis one is only a single dose however you can get 6 pack doses as well usually around 70 to 80 bucks but its well worth the money.
