Answer:	Sorry to hear that you are having issues with your pump. We have found that the impeller which is held in by a magnet can become off balance. There is a quick fix for this problem. If you look on page 9 & 10 of your manual there are instruction on how to take apart the pump. If you no longer have your manual you can go to www.pioneerpet.com and go under instructions/products and they will show you how to take apart your pump. When you do this and remove the impeller after you put it back in give it a few spins this will help it stay in balance. You should be doing this once a month when you change your filters. Answer:	The fountain is entirely stainless. The inner pump is housed in plastic. It runs very quiet. I'm really pleased w/ this one. It was easy to assemble and clean as well.

Answer:	I've owned this fountain since November 2014 and the pump is still going strong. You just need to take it apart and clean it thoroughly every time you clean the fountain. My cats and I love this fountains.
Question:	Does anyone else have a problem with foaming or bubbles on the surface of the water? It looks like scum, but it's not, and the fountain is clean
Answer:	The 'bubbles' you see are an indicator that you need to clean your fountain and change (or rinse VERY well) your filters more often. There is a difference in aeration bubbles and saliva residue. When your cat drinks, saliva gets into the water dish and is re-circulated through the pump. If you have the residue on your water surface; your pump and filter probably feel slimy to the touch. We have 7 indoor cats that use 4 fountains (stainless steel really is better; the flower brands now have stainless steel bowls (well worth it to replace older plastic ones). Some weeks all of them are slimy, others none are. I take apart and clean them all every week regardless. I use Clorox Clean-up and brushes. After cleanimg, I leave them to soak in VERY hot water with ~1 T vinegar (until water cools), rinse again and reassemble. I replace the filters every week. I also run them through the dishwasher every 4 to 6 weeks so they get washed in water hotter than my hands can bear. This sounds like lot of work, but the benefit to the cats of having clean, running water is worth it. It only takes about 2 hours to do all four. When compared to the weeks we spent at veterinary offices and emergency clinics (not to mention the thousands of dollars we spent and the suffering he went throuh) with one of our males that had a urinary blockage; it doesn't seem like much time at all! Fountains really do encourage cats to drink more water which is necessary for urinary tract health. Therefore, in my opinion, the small amount of extra work they make is a reasonable trade off. Although I can hear it during the day when all is quiet. It is more of a soothing sound to me. I would say if the sound is going to bother you get a flowing type fountain not one that drips. Aside from that I really recommend this fountain it is my favorite one and is easiest to clean.

It was slimy and almost like it had a slimy mold/moss growing on the filter (the debris it collected even seemed slightly green-tinted). I've always used my Britta filtered water in this so I decided to give it a try without the filter and it works perfectly fine. I change the water weekly and there are no issues. I feel like because this design is so low to the grown and large a lot of dust/dirt/debris from the floor plus cat fur and cat spit ends up in it so I'm happy replacing their water every week. Also, I'd never want to drink water that old.

Take the Pump Apart

Taking the pump apart to clean helps keep your fountain working optimally. Start by removing the faceplate & keeping it. You may need to use a fingernail inserted into the seam to pry it off.

Remove the Stator

Remove & keep the teardrop-shaped stator by pulling up on the small lip.

Remove the Impeller

Use a fingernail to pull out the impeller, which is held in place magnetically, & keep it. Clean the pump, impeller, stator and faceplate with warm water and soap, then reassemble.

Remove Pump from Bowl

Unplug and remove the pump from the base of the fountain. Rinse out the foam filter with water or replace it before replacing the pump.

Question:	I love this fountain and so do my cats! To refill, when the water gets low, do I just pour it in or do I have to take apart to refill
Answer:	I just pour in to refill until it is time to clean it again. I try to do that weekly or every other week depending on how on top of things I am. Just don't pour too fast or it will overflow and spill.

Answer:	For the most part, yes. It makes the same amount of noise that a serenity water fountain makes. You hear the water falling off of the flower but far as the motor goes, it’s very quiet. You don’t hear the machine itself at all.

Answer:	NO! I ordered the Catit filters and they did not fit and returned them. I then ordered: MEWTOGO 10 Pack Cat Fountain Filters- Pet Water Fountain Replacement Filters Filled with Activated Carbon for 1.6L Cat Automatic Water Dispenser . These are the same as what came with the fountain. Purrfit !!!

Answer:	I use the same filtered water to fill it as I drink. I have a Pur filter on my facet which makes the water taste fine. It's the same filtered water I drink and the same filtered water my dog drank before I got the fountain. So when the filter died, I didn't bother replacing it since I only add good water and replace it regularly. Distilled water? I wouldn't want to have to drink that so I wouldn't expect my buddy to drink it either.

Just bought it in July and pump keeps stopping, I used to be able to gently poke the opening to the motor with a wooden stick, give it a little push and get it to run again, but now it quit completely. I love the look and quality of the stainless steel fountain, but now I am back here wondering if the motor can be replaced. I only use water that has gone through my Pur filter and make sure it us always full.
