Answer:	Welcome to the murky world of sizing up compasses. I had trouble shopping too. The photo doesn't match my 30L, and there's no metric scale. On the left is inches. On the top is miles in 1:50,000 scale. On the right is miles in 1:24,000 scale. I like my compass and would recommend it. Hope this helps.

Answer:	I have the snap clip on mine and it will take a lot of pull to get the clip to release. This is a safety feature and I would not disconnect it. Either that or use a cord that will break if an accident does happen. Your life is worth more than a thirty dollar compass.

It’s the best use I see for that part, outside of kitten napping. I also removed the bottom “hammock”, as he never used it, and he now plays more with the bottom hole.

Answer:	It comes in parts and is put together with large screws and bolts. The base is wide, heavy and very stable so it does not need to be secured to the floor. Our cat does a running leap at it and it has never fallen over. We've had it for almost a year and it still looks brand new. Of course, maybe other cats would be more aggressive in playing on it but I can recommend this product for quality!

Answer:	I believe so. I've seen them stretch for a few seconds then start scratching it up. And it's holding up very well

Answer:	Outside dimensions I get are close to 16" tall at highest point and 18" long at bottom, inside 12" long at bottom by 11" tall, this is a triangle so the inside is not all at 11" tall. My cat is around 18lbs, he loves to lay inside of it.

Answer:	It's true that the cardboard is durable. We have two cats, and we managed to keep the large 3-Sided Scratching Post in use for a year or more by flipping the triangle, as suggested, but also by turning each side upside down, as the cats tend to scratch only the upper half. However, it is also true that the cardboard is an intricate part of the design, and is not replaceable. And, sorry to say, due to the expense of the item, we cannot afford to replace it each year.

Answer:	Probably. If your cat seems to like the solid, long vertical surfaces of a door frame, this would be the closest thing, and the fact that it's sisal covered should make it more appealing than a door frame. If I had this problem, I would get this and keep a squirt bottle handy. Praise him when he uses the post, squirt him when he uses the door frame.
Question:	I've had mine airing outside for a week due to strong chemical odor - anyone else experience this? Would not let cats near it unless it clears up
Answer:	Mine arrived today and yes, it has a strong chemical odor. I am sensitive to chemical smells and I can’t be around it and have placed it outside, just as the other reviewer did. If I can’t stand the smell, I am quite sure it is just as unappealing to my cats. Also it does not include any instructions for how to attach the base, which comes in two pieces and it isn’t readily apparent how to do this intuitively. I came back to their page to look for instructions and found none. So, without having had the opportunity to assemble and try it yet, I wouldn’t recommend this product for the above reasons. Two strikes against before even using it. Disappointing, considering the high cost of this product

Answer:	I have 3 cats. One is a large stray I picked up in New York City. Big ole cat. About 20 lbs. He likes to use this thing as a jumping off point to get onto the top of our entertainment center and he scratches at it too. Never even tipped to the side. It’s very, very sturdy. I’m about to purchase my third. With three active and scratch-happy cats, this thing lasts about 1.5 years.

Answer:	I don’t have this particular post. but I have several posts scratchers etc for my cats. If they are scratching your furniture put package tape on it for a period of time; when you take it off make sure they do not see you as they may start again. The idea is for them to forget that area as they do not like the tape; so they just quit going to that particular spot.

Answer:	Oh yes, twice the fun! And they're rather compact so they don't take up a lot of room. If I still had 8 cats, I would definitely have two. These have honestly been the best scratching post trees I've ever owned. Their sturdiness is a huge plus, over the single posts which always seem tippy and a turnoff to cats. Plus the two flat surfaces for sleeping. Once in a while, I spray it all with spray catnip and the fun ramps up!
