Answer:	My adult cat's didn't play with it, but the kittens I had loved it. That being said, it was destroyed by the kittens quickly and the rods inside it were fiber glass, so when I tried to shove them back into the fabric, I ended up with fiber glass slivers all in my fingers. I don't think 12 pounds is too big for it, but it won't last long.

Answer:	You could by using just the sticky side. It also comes with upholstery pins to help keep it in place, which you may not want to use on your leather furniture. I do love that the product covers more area than double back tape and is sturdy. I applied one whole piece on each corner of the boxsprings of the bed and it fits & works perfectly!
Question:	Will it affect the beauty of the furniture if it is installed on the furniture
Answer:	Yes. Your furniture will look awful. Not being funny here. The sheets of plastic adhere to your sofa/chair for about 4 minutes before peeling away. Of course you could use the ultra tacky corkscrew pins to have to stay in place. But then your neighbors/mother in law/friends will mock you when they see the trashy plastic sheets. Buy a few more scratching posts, sprinkle with lots of cat nip and you will be fine. Don't buy these. Not kidding.

Answer:	I have 7 cats and 2 of these Toys. 2 of my cats don’t usually play with toys but love this one. They have never gotten the balls out. 2 of my cats are large and strong - 20 & 21 pounds. Answer:	No. It will help shed the old nail but under that is a fresh new sharp claw. Only clipping will trim the nails shorter.
Question:	Can this be cut to size & attached to an old scratching post that needs to be re-covered? I'd use glue but am concerned this can't be cut or is heavy
Answer:	Heavy, but you could cut. Probably will ravel if edges not glued.
Question:	Can this be used outdoors
Answer:	You certainly can, it will not last long out in the weather. My cat do not scratch on the mat, the do not scratch on the post! They scratch on real 4X4 of their porch. As of right now I’m using the mat as door mat.

Answer:	No it's not heavy enough to stay in place. It might if your cat isn't overly enthusiastic about using it. Mine is to the point she half drags it across our carpeted floor.
