| Answer: | I have two cats that weigh about ten pounds each. I have two finches inside this cage which they watch all the time. They lay on the cage and attack the cage but have never been able to get a paw in the cage. They also have not figured out how to lift the door and its not locked. I think it would be perfect for parakeets. I have a parrotlet, which I think is about the same size as a parakeet. It would be perfect with lots of room for accessories. The only thing to make sure of is that you have a base that is 18" deep. I noticed, when I went to set it up that most of my end tables and dressers are only 17" deep! |

| Answer: | This cage measure 30x18x18. I prefer these cages for finches and canaries as these birds need to stretch their wings regularly and the length of this cage gives them that opportunity. I would say 4 finches at the most and a pair of canaries would the most this cage should hold. Other cages although they may look fancier and have more style they just aren't as easy to clean or do they truly satisfy the bird's needs like these flight cages. |

| Answer: | I don’t use this for water. I use two of these for seed for my love bird and princess of whales bird. I would recommend getting a Lix water bottle that attaches outside the cage. They keep the water clean, makes it very easy to refill as you don’t have to reach inside the cage. You would have to open the cage to refill this. I had parakeets for many years and the Lix water bottle worked very well. |

Super easy removable from its attached base for refills. Easy two clean. Water doesn't get dirty as much as it gets in bowl kinda dishes. We just rinse it on very hot water. We change it every third day. And it doesn't leak. At least ours doesn't. So, I'm pretty satisfied with the purchase and am thinking to get another one too. |

My parakeets i doubt could sit in this very easily, so i'm pretty sure it will work well for your cockatiel in size and function. Of course there's always that rare bird that is a gymnast that might prove me wrong LOL but over all i think you are safe with this product |

| Answer: | The cover is glued on, but I'm not sure why you would want to use it without the cover, that is what keeps the seeds from being scattered. And I use the cover to separate the hulls from the seeds. I tip the feeder a bit, and shake the contents. The hulls go to the top, remaining in the top. I turn it to dump them, and since the heavier seeds are in the colored base, they don't get dumped. Works slick! |

The large Sz would be an ok for a macaw but your bird may still throw food. Also, I wonder if a larger bird like a macaw would be interested in eating the plastic on the cup? My little Conure isn’t a chewer but I know some big birds can be. Hope this helps. |
