Answer:	I am not sure on composite decks, but the salt did not damage our wooden decks.

Answer:	Used only on the brick stoop and the bluestone walkway and only for a week yet or so no damage is seen so far. I bought it for pet and plant safety as rock salt damages the plantings and rock salt also brings larger beasts and other animals to lick it up

Answer:	My dog did fine with it. I just put on a bit of my porch and stairs down to yard. BUT what did make my dog limp was once he got on the icy yard. THEN he wasn't able to stand long enough to do what we went out for. Pets can get ice burn just like people. Imagine if we had to go out barefoot? Even though the skin on their pads may be thicker, still really cold and the warmth of their paws with the ice...not good. During really icy freezing time, I cut up squares of garbage bag big enough to wrap around his pads and secure with a rubber band. It's only for the like TWO mins he goes into the yard, this wouldn't work to walk your dog, but saves his paws as it isn't the cold, but the ICE sticking to his pads that causes the pain.

Answer:	I live in the UP of Michigan, heart of winter we have -20 and that's before wind chill. Yes this will work. I use this on the outside along the bottom of my garage door to keep the door from freezing close/stuck. Also on my threshold to the side door to my garage right after bad freeze after a semi melt. While it is not as bad as some brands it's not 100% pet friendly. (haven't found one yet that truly is) I push broom or shovel the melt off the walk way as it does annoy my paws and claws.

Answer:	Easy Calculation 15 amps running full out for 1 hour is about 1.5 KWH Average price for a KWH in the USA is about 12-14 Cents. So you are looking at about 20 - 25 cents an hour. Way cheaper option than gas and it starts every time!

Answer:	You will have to buy an extension cord. Be sure to get one that is 12 gauge and rated at 15 amps. I would buy one that is made for cold weather so it isn't stiff and it remains flexible when snow blowing.

Answer:	Hmm, how many inches of snow was there? I just used mine this morning with 13 inches of snow and it was throwing it about 6-8 feet, quite impressive actually for a $150 machine.

Otherwise, you are backing up and running through again (which is not really a problem because the blower is light).After doing a couple runs with 2 days of snow falling, and some melting, I can give these measurements that it should run through without problem:Light Snow: 8"-12"Medium Snow: 5"-8"Heavy Snow (not packed): Going above the amounts in the specific weight of snow, and the Joe may clog, or start to chug. Otherwise, no issues.

Suggested Use:

Plow or shovel snow prior to spreading Ice Melt. Spread evenly using a cup, scoop, or spreader. Use ¼ to ½ cup per square yard. Remove melted slush.



Storage:

Store in a sealed container in a dry location.

Answer:	I don't know exactly but I can tell you that when we were experiencing the -54 degree (with wind chill) temperatures, it DID help and it did NOT irritate my dog's feet at all. You can hear it working and kind of sounds like Rice Krispies... Hahaha

Answer:	I will presume you mean decks. Yes. We have a serious amount of decks facing into the woods. Every snow or ice event, we use this and similar products on the decks. It has never been a problem.
Question:	Is it safe on composite decks
Answer:	You should know that Calcium Chloride isn't the only ingredient. It also contains Sodium Chloride, Magnesium Chloride, and other highly effective snow melters. There has been some studies that showed that using salt (Sodium Chloride) can build up in the soil, causing the plants unable to efficiently take up water through their roots. This is especially true for shallow root plants like grass and most crops. But this can be prevented if you simply avoid the salt from contacting your lawn. Magnesium Chloride and Calcium Chloride may actually be HELPFUL to plants, as magnesium and calcium are crucial elements for maintaining healthy strong leaves. Infact, these two compounds are used as fertilizers. Although, animals can have magnesium poisoning. In short, they're no more harmful to the environment than regular snow melt (if used properly), maybe even better.

Answer:	Here are 2-step directions for removing the lid from Pure Organic Ingredients Ice Melt Pellets: 1. For a 1-gallon bucket, cut the tabs using a box cutter or scissors. For a 3.5-gallon or 5-gallon bucket, break loose the start of the pull tab with scissors or a screw driver and pull the band off by pulling out or back until that band is completely removed. If you are having trouble pulling on the tab with your hands, pliers can be used for an easier grip. 2. For all buckets, loosen the lid by prying it up one section at a time, working around the lid in sections using a bucket opener, screw driver, or other sturdy tool. Continue working around the lid until it pulls off easily with your hands.
