Answer:	I have used Oh Yuk Healthy Hot Tub Cleaner for both cleaning the hot tub and the filter. I started with a clean tub (cleaned with Oh Yuk) and a new filter. I wash (rinse in sink) the filter every week (our particular hot tub stops heating if filter is not kept VERY clean). After several weeks, I decided to try Oh Yuk for cleaning the filter. I soak it a solution of 2oz per 1-2 gallons of water (as describe in product description on Amazon listing) for at least 2 hours; I have never soaked for longer than 4. I have tried both rinsing filter first, then soaking and also soaking first. With rinsing first, I did not notice too much difference after soaking, but filter did appear a little brighter and smelled fresher. With soaking first, the rinsing seems to be easier; again, filter is brighter and smells fresher using Oh Yuk than if I had not used. Hope this helps!

Answer:	Yes. I let it float around. Occasionally,. meaning every few months, I take it out and rinse it. It does very well at keeping scum off the sides of the hot tub. I only use one and I have a 4 person hot tub.

Answer:	I have use these and the dirty duck they both do the same thing. None of mine has ever fell apart I think they recommend to replace them every 3/4 mos. depending on the use. We use ours almost every night till it gets way to cold won't be cold in water but freeze going to door. I don't replace mine that often When they look oily or dirty I take them and wash them out by hand only with a mild dish liquid and very warm water then I throw them back in when they stop obsorbing the usually sink then I replace them normally once a year sometimes 2x if we have a lot of company coming over using it too. I have used several products these are my favorite. They help with scum line on hot tub too.
