| Answer: | I have owned above ground pools since 1978. The seller of the first pool I purchased said not to use a pillow. He said it raises the cover out of the pool and expose it to the sun and wears it out. I took his advice and never used a pillow. I am on my second above-ground pool installed 1998. I have had many pool covers over the years and the majority of them wear out within about 3-5 years. I have had many types expensive 20 year warranty and cheaper ones. They all last about the same 3-5 years. I live in Southwest Ohio and have a 28 foot diameter pool. I have had this cover for about 2 years and so far it shows no wear. I purchased a leave cover a few years ago and put the leaf cover the solid cover. I helps hold the solid down during winds. When I get a nice sunny day in the first three months I take the leaf cover off and empty the leaves and sometimes I put it back on to hold it down during the Spring rains. During the winters I siphon the water off by using garden hoses. I have done this procedure for the past 5 years. I would provably purchase this cover again. My neighbor uses a pillow but he has only had a pool for about three years. He tries to secure the pillow but it come loose and floats to one side. I see this year he is not using a pillow. You are welcome to try my way or keep fighting with the pillow. Your choice. Wish you well. |

Unfortunately because we bought it in November I can't exchange it. If I go that route then hopefully I can sell it and get what I paid out of it since it's been used for not even a week. (2+ years without covering) Someone mentioned the regular cover keeps the water cleaner. I didn't find that to be true, plus a shock treatment clears up any green water. |

| Answer: | personally, I use just one 4ft x 4ft , to each his own. I've been doing this for 15 winter seasons now and not had a bit of trouble. The biggest piece of advice I can give is to only fill the pillow with about 1/2 to 3/4 volume of air. It doesn't need to be fully inflated as it's used as an expansion space for surface ice build-up. Inflate the pillow and then press it down...if you can compress it in the middle to where it almost touches itself, stop....that's enough air. |

| Answer: | D.L. Bungee cords can absolutely be used. Been doing that for 15 years. Actually have wire running thru the pool supports and the bungees attach to the wire. Since we engineered this method we have not had one winter of worrying if the cover will hold. Best if you put the hooks of the cord through both grommets at each location so as not to create stress on one grommet alone. |

| Answer: | I can't tell you exactly. We just put it to the water hose nozzle and filled so there was some slack left in the tube. I live in South Florida so we don't have to worry about freezing, but if you are in a cold climate you will definitely need to leave room for freezing expansion. I was also concerned about filling it too full so that it put stress on the seams causing them to break. Also, these can be very heavy to move around when full of water so keep that in mind. | Answer: | Easiest way we have discovered is by using a carwash brush and soapy water. Soapy water is just hot water and dishsoap. The carwash brush is a long handle/wand with a brush on the end and it was $20 at Autozone- You connect it to your hose and when you slide the button, water comes out behind the brush. After we scrub and rinse, we hang them over the fence for a few hours. |

| Answer: | it depends on how much water you put in. One gallon is 8-ish pounds. I don't fill mine up because of ice. I'm guestimating that my weighed 25 pounds. They seem to be doing their job of keeping the corners down (but you do need the edge pieces along all sides - using these on the corners and nothing else will not do the job). |

| Answer: | I would not waste my money on this product. It didn't stay on my pool for 24 hours before the wind carried it over into the cow pasture. Use SS clamps with rubber tips from Harbor Freight. Held cover on 33 foot diameter pool, like a pit bull, all winter long, even in strong winds! |
