12 best blue wave pool alarms

Blue Wave pool alarms are safety devices designed to enhance the security and safety of swimming pools and hot tubs. These alarms are intended to alert pool owners or guardians to potential water-related accidents, particularly involving unsupervised children or pets. Here is what you need to know about Blue Wave pool alarms:

  1. Purpose: The primary purpose of Blue Wave pool alarms is to detect and notify you when there is unauthorized access to the pool area. This is crucial for preventing accidental drownings, especially among children who may wander near the pool without supervision.

  2. Types of Alarms: Blue Wave offers a variety of pool alarms, including gate alarms, surface wave alarms, and sub-surface alarms.

    • Gate Alarms: Gate alarms are typically installed on the gate or fence surrounding the pool area. They sound an alert when the gate is opened without proper authorization.

    • Surface Wave Alarms: These alarms are placed on the pool's surface and use motion sensors to detect disturbances on the water's surface. They trigger an alert when someone or something enters the pool.

    • Sub-Surface Alarms: Sub-surface alarms are installed underwater and rely on underwater sensors to detect any movement or displacement of water. They can alert you to any activity in the pool.

  3. Audible Alerts: Blue Wave pool alarms are equipped with loud audible alarms that activate when they detect unauthorized access or pool movement. These alarms are designed to be easily heard from a distance, ensuring a quick response.

  4. Remote Notifications: Some Blue Wave pool alarms offer remote notification features. This means that in addition to sounding an audible alarm on-site, they can send alerts to your smartphone or other devices, allowing you to respond immediately even if you are not near the pool.

  5. Installation: Installing Blue Wave pool alarms is relatively straightforward. Gate alarms attach to the pool gate or fence, while surface and sub-surface alarms are placed directly in or near the water. Proper installation is critical to ensure the alarm's effectiveness.

  6. Battery-Powered: Many Blue Wave pool alarms are battery-powered for ease of installation and maintenance. It's important to regularly check and replace the batteries to ensure the alarm remains functional.

  7. Compliance: Pool safety regulations vary by location, so it's essential to check local codes and requirements. Blue Wave pool alarms are designed to meet or exceed safety standards and may help pool owners comply with relevant regulations.

  8. Supervision: While pool alarms are valuable safety tools, they should not replace proper supervision of children and pets in and around the pool. They serve as an additional layer of protection but do not replace responsible adult supervision.

In conclusion, Blue Wave pool alarms are essential safety products designed to prevent accidents and enhance pool security by alerting you to unauthorized access or pool movement. These alarms play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of children and pets near swimming pools and hot tubs.

Question: Its work in 10m x 6m pool
Answer: Yes
Question: How does this mount to an in-ground pool? Permanent mount? Any drilling required
Answer: yes you have to drill, you can use plugs that you put into the ground around your pool so it can be removed in the winter or you can get screws in home depot that is mad to go into cement and you can removed them also in the winter. Hope this helps
Question: Is this NY state verified
Answer: don't know you have to check with ny state
Question: Can this detect motion from a dog that weighs 10 pounds
Answer: Depends on how close to the alarm set dog falls in, if it doesn’t cause a wave enough to move the floating cone then it won’t sound the alarm
Question: How come this doesn’t work in polls below the ground
Answer: It just doesn’t work. Don’t buy us unless you have an Indoor pool because a slight breeze will sound the alarm

User questions & answers

Question: I have a small Yorkie about 8 lbs. If she slips in the water, not creating a big splash would the unit go off
Answer: I don't know if it will detect her going in I suspect no, but- it might once she starts splashing and moving in the water- When we put ours in it did not detect the waves created by a gallon jug of water from across the alarm dropped in about a foot above water level (so about 8-9 pounds) (but it did when we did 2 at same time) . The manual also notes that gradual water entry might not be detected. It would also be affected by size of pool and number of alarms. Their customer service is 800-242-7163- they might be able to tell you- or if they have other options
Question: What are the dimensions? What's the length of the arm that goes in the water, as measured from where the pool deck would be to the bottom of the arm
Answer: 9.5" x 11"From the deck, the arm goes 11" down. Adjust your water level to ensure that at least 2.5" of the arm are in the pool.
Question: Will this work with a Zodiac pool cleaner thats in motion 8 hours a day
Answer: I'm not familiar with the zodiac but I have a navigator pool cleaner that runs 9 hours and it has NOT triggered this alarm. This was one of my concerns that I researched in pool alarms. Hope that helps!
Question: Can this be used on a pool that has an electric cover
Answer: There is nothing operationally that would prevent that. But. You need at least 5 inches clearance between the deck and the bottom of the cover.... Not likely. But, it can be picked up easily when you decide to deploy the cover. If the cover is on... I assume you do not need the guard
Question: Will this alert you to a 6 pound dog falling in
Answer: Sadly I doubt it would- I believe it had to be like 19-25 pounds to sound the alarm. Can you install a gate? This is scary for you… I wish Good luck with your dog!!
Question: How does it connect to the alarm in the house
Answer: It connects through wifi to another transmitter you charge in house. It's really loud regardless. You won't miss the alarm.
Question: does it have to be tethered ,or can it float free
Answer: it comes with a long tether that can be easily shortened without cutting it, but you could let it float around without it. If it is free floating be sure it is alarming properly. Its alarm sensitivity is also very adjustable. Note: rain will also likely set it off.
Question: Will it work if a small, 8-pound dog falls in
Answer: I believe it will work. Our cats, 10# and 11# both fell in and it went off. Also, my husband forgot it was in and just dangled his feet and it went off. We have been really pleased with it.

Product features

Sensitivity Adustment

Turning the black flotation base clockwise or counterclockwise raises or lowers the sensing ring with respect to the water. stops. Do not force it. This is the most sensitive position and the position that was used to pass ASTM testing. Moving the float from this position will no longer meet ASTM requirements The closer the sensing ring is to the water, the more sensitive the alarm. Turn the black flotation base gently clockwise until it.

Sensitivity Marks

The “Sensitivity Marks” can be used as a general indicator for the sensitivity position. Should the sensitivity need to be adjusted start making adjustments by turning the float only a ¼ turn at a time. Test the alarm after each adjustment. We do not recommend turning the float out more than three full turns.

Alarm Placement for pools 20x40 ft or smaller

One pool alarm can be used for all pool types. This includes aboveground, in-ground, inflatable and soft side pools.

Alarm Placement for pools larger then 20x40 ft

It is recommended that more than one alarm should be used in pools larger than 20x40 ft.

RECEIVER

Your receiver works with the pool alarm allowing you to monitor your pool from within your house. When the floating alarm is activated it sends a signal to activate the receiver.

Transmission Modes

The receiver has two modes of operation: Serial Number mode (SN mode) and ID mode. When the receiver is in SN mode it will accept the transmission of any Pool Patrol transmitter (this is the default setting). The serial number is common to all transmitters. When the receiver is in ID mode it will accept the serial number plus the ID number of the transmission. The ID number is unique to each transmitter.

RECEIVER PLACEMENT

It is best to place the receiver next to a window or wood door adjacent to the pool with-in 200 feet from the transmitter. Do not place the receiver near steel walls, cabinets, on or alongside an electrical appliance, such as a computer, or on a metal surface as this may affect signal reception. The pool alarm will not transmit its signal through the ground.

User questions & answers

Question: Will this alert you to a 6 pound dog falling in
Answer: I have 4C hair and it works great on my hair, without flakes or residue!...The key is to only use a small amount each time you use it. How I use this gel, is I first spritz my hair with a little water then I apply a small amount of gel in the palms of my hands and rub it through my hair and scalp....I repeat this process 2-3 times a week. I love this product because it's aiding in my hair growth!
Question: How does it connect to the alarm in the house
Answer: Hicks is not better than Murray's edges control.. I've purchased both products and Hick's is $16 in beauty supply stores here in Memphis... Should t more like $3.99...Hick's works more like jam because I still had to apply Murray's edge control over the Hick's edge control for my hair to lay down ...I have a nice grade of hair of a curly texture....don't waste your money on Hick's edge control... Murray's edge control is better ....
Question: does it have to be tethered ,or can it float free
Answer: They’re all the same product. The colors represent the different scents. I believe there are two different holds regular and extra. Otherwise, no difference. Only downside is it turns white after a day or two. I like others have recommended using a dark gel, or jam over it. It’s amazing for natural hair to hold it in place.
Question: Will it work if a small, 8-pound dog falls in
Answer: This is the only edge product I own that doesn't revert my edges. This stuff is thick and holds edges straight and slick. Use a little first and build as needed because it can go white very fast if you use too much.

Question: Does this have an off switch or just delay switch my town requires that it can not be turned off for my pool permits when i upgraded my pool
Answer: For security reason, there is no switch for turning off the poolguard, just delay function only.
Question: can it be attached to a fiberglass door
Answer: We used Scotch permanent mounting tape on our metal door. It has only been up 4 months, but it is holding up so far. It comes with screws for mounting. I wouldn't think you could use them on a fiber glass door. Hope this helps.
Question: Can you bypass the alarm on either side of the door or only from the inside
Answer: Only from the inside where the bypass button will be mounted. Keep in mind that there is a five second delay from the moment you open the door. This allows you to enter from the outside and press the bypass button as you walk though the door.
Question: UL 2017 stamped on the alarm

User questions & answers

Question: how many pieces of this cove do i need for an 18x33 above ground pool
Answer: All I attest to is that I love this product. There is no flaking and as far as matte there is texture to the point that my edges stay in place and it goes on smoothly. Not too shiny but matte in that sense. I hope this helps. This gel smells great and overall one of my favorite.
Question: How many Do I need for 12x18 inches oval pool
Answer: I really like it for my hair which is probably 4a I think. I only use it on my side and back edges. Once I put it on my edges, I add a little bit of water to make it shine, and lay down better. It Smell's good, and last a good while on my hair.
Question: is this the high density foam, or economy that I have heard crushes over time
Answer: I have never experienced any flaking.
Question: I am considering installing this cove moulding, does this stuff compress and slide down over time due to water pressure
Answer: Yes! It works on all hair types. Here are the other products we recommend for type 4 hair: Honey Miracle Hair Mask, Green Tea Super Moist Leave In Conditioner, Butter Cream Daily Moisturizer, Miracle RepaiRx Strengthening Shampoo, Miracle RepaiRx Curl Food, Anti-Breakage Serum, and our Honey Curls Custard

Product features

48-in Peel and Stick Above Ground Pool Cove

Make sure to place pool cove around the bottom, inside circumference of your pool wall before installing your new liner. Pool cove will help prevent excessive stretching and premature wearing, adding years to the life of your new liner. Peel & Stick pool cove has an adhesive backing for quick, easy installation. Available in 48" lengths. Why density matters in pool cove: Water pressure on the cove is directly proportional to the depth of the water. The deeper the water, the more pressure on the cove. The higher the density, the lower the amount of air in the cove. Air will compress over time, resin won't. If the cove flattens over time, the liner will become stressed and possibly even pull on the wall structure

User questions & answers

Question: Not to many details provided on amazon...is this alarm simple to turn off when maintaining/ cleaning pool? Also, any indication when battery is dead
Answer: I'd have to see pictures of the door to be sure I'm offering a good suggestion. But, assuming the doors meet in the middle and slide away from each other into their pockets, my guess is that you would need to either order an additional sensor set from Poolguard or buy two complete alarms and use both sensor sets, one sensor set on each door, but then wire them both to the same alarm module on one side of the door or the other. Or you could put a complete separate alarm on each door but that would be a pain having to hit the button on both each time you go out or in.
Question: is there an alarm that hooks to ladder
Answer: The alarm is intended to be installed on the house door as is a requirement for many areas on edteruor door with direct access to the pool. The alarm will sound at the device itself. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Question: Does this work with an above-ground pool liner? Would the alarm go off at any movement of the liner
Answer: Perhaps you can ask the company directly. I have not returned this product.
Question: Can this be used in in ground pools
Answer: Sadly I doubt it would- I believe it had to be like 19-25 pounds to sound the alarm. Can you install a gate? This is scary for you… I wish Good luck with your dog!!

Answer: The pool alarm is set off by the movement of the water. The tube is suggested to be adjusted to be 10cm (3.9") deep. If the water near the alarm is moved around that depth it will be set off. I would say yes the sucker can set off the alarm when in use. You would need to test with your specific pool to confirm if it is effected.
Question: I have an odd shaped pool. It is in the shape of a fidget spinner, so will this work on it or is this more for a normal shaped pool
Answer: This will work on any pool. The Pool Alarm offers sub-surface wave detection so the tube must be immersed 10cm deep. Entry into the pool will be detected by the Pool Alarm’s electronic sensor.
