Question:	What size are the hose connections
Answer:	It can hook up to 1.25 intex or 1.5 hose. You need gaskets though.
Question:	How would this work for heating my 40 gal hot water heater
Answer:	I'm presently heating 60 gallons. Keep in mind it only heats as long as is on the unit. You will need a pump to circulate the water and dual shut off valves to isolate the water while it is heating. I heat a jacuzzi with mine and in the peak of summer I got over 120° incoming water. Good luck.
Question:	Can you connect several of them together easily
Answer:	Yes, it has a connection hose and clamps with each one to tie one, two or more together. Hint: make sure you silicone the caps and threaded fittings. I did even with the Teflon Tape to insure no leaks. Work great.
Question:	Doe it work with a sand filter
Answer:	Yes it works with a sand filter. It also works with salt water systems. I installed mine downstream from the filter on the inlet line to the pool and before the chlorine generator. I would not install it upstream from the pump and filter because you don't want any debris that gets past the skimmer to get into the heater to potentially cause blockages. It doesn't have to be before the chlorine generator either, that's just how mine worked out.

Answer:	As to the 15 pound dog, yes if properly set and tested. The sensitivity changes according to how high or low from the water surface the sensor is. As to a thermal blanket, I have no idea.

Answer:	Don't see why not, it attached to our ladder to our inground pool but should work for you as long as you have something similar to attach it to.

Answer:	It connects through wifi to another transmitter you charge in house. It's really loud regardless. You won't miss the alarm.

Answer:	it comes with a long tether that can be easily shortened without cutting it, but you could let it float around without it. If it is free floating be sure it is alarming properly. Its alarm sensitivity is also very adjustable. Note: rain will also likely set it off.

Answer:	I believe it will work. Our cats, 10# and 11# both fell in and it went off. Also, my husband forgot it was in and just dangled his feet and it went off. We have been really pleased with it.

Sensitivity Adustment

Turning the black flotation base clockwise or counterclockwise raises or lowers the sensing ring with respect to the water. stops. Do not force it. This is the most sensitive position and the position that was used to pass ASTM testing. Moving the float from this position will no longer meet ASTM requirements The closer the sensing ring is to the water, the more sensitive the alarm. Turn the black flotation base gently clockwise until it.

Sensitivity Marks

The “Sensitivity Marks” can be used as a general indicator for the sensitivity position. Should the sensitivity need to be adjusted start making adjustments by turning the float only a ¼ turn at a time. Test the alarm after each adjustment. We do not recommend turning the float out more than three full turns.

Alarm Placement for pools 20x40 ft or smaller

One pool alarm can be used for all pool types. This includes aboveground, in-ground, inflatable and soft side pools.

It is recommended that more than one alarm should be used in pools larger than 20x40 ft.

RECEIVER

Your receiver works with the pool alarm allowing you to monitor your pool from within your house. When the floating alarm is activated it sends a signal to activate the receiver.

Transmission Modes

The receiver has two modes of operation: Serial Number mode (SN mode) and ID mode. When the receiver is in SN mode it will accept the transmission of any Pool Patrol transmitter (this is the default setting). The serial number is common to all transmitters. When the receiver is in ID mode it will accept the serial number plus the ID number of the transmission. The ID number is unique to each transmitter.

RECEIVER PLACEMENT

It is best to place the receiver next to a window or wood door adjacent to the pool with-in 200 feet from the transmitter. Do not place the receiver near steel walls, cabinets, on or alongside an electrical appliance, such as a computer, or on a metal surface as this may affect signal reception. The pool alarm will not transmit its signal through the ground.

Answer:	We have a 24 x 52 above ground pool and the 110v keeps our pool in Seattle area at a cozy 84. Adding a solar set up would make it even better, but it just may be extra work that is not necessary. We would rate this heater a 10 if we could.

Answer:	Hello, use an extention cord will cause power consumption, If you really need to use an extension cord, Preferably not more than 3 meters, and it needs to be a big enough gauge to handle the amperage. Preferably a 14 gauge, hope this helps, thank you.

Answer:	No, there is no thermostat on the unit. I bought it to warm the water in a stainless steel Tank and it works wonderfully.

Answer:	I have found that it heats 5 gallons in about 20 minutes or so. It does depend on how cold the water is to start.
Question:	My heater in my small hot tub has gone out. The circulating pumps still work. Can I use this in the hot tub if it is removed before anyone gets in the
Answer:	We use it in a small bapistry and it works great. Keep in mind with that much water it takes a couple of hours to get hot.

Answer:	I believe so- we have a 15 foot by 30 foot oval pool and I think that is 15,000 or 17,000 gallons of water. We have had our solar cover since last summer and we are very happy with it. It is a good quality cover.

Answer:	It works for both in-ground and above-ground pools. You connect it to the pool pump so you will need a diversion valve.

Answer:	I have not used this for an inground pool, but the pool type should not matter. As water is moves through the panel, it picks up a little heat on each pass. The amount of heat is determined by the number of panels. The only difference between inground and above ground pools that would be an issue is heat loss, which would depend on your environment and pool materials.

Answer:	Don't know but it isn't much as heating tubes so small. Never seems to be too much water that drains out when I put away for winter

Answer:	I think he/she is asking what are the dimensions and weight of the box that the cover is shipped in. I would also like to know the answer.

Answer:	It will be safe for at least a year. I have had the cover for exactly 13 months and the cover is starting to fall apart and is leaving small blue bubble debris in my pool. If you have fish in the pond, I would be concerned that the debris could harm the fish if they tried to eat it.

Answer:	They claim there is but when we had an issue with all of the bubbles falling off and clogging our filter leading a brand new pump to burn out they claimed the bubbles separating from the cover isn’t under warranty! Answer:	Hands down clear is the better cover for solar gain. Yhe Department of Energy say the following. Question:	have a kidney shape pool underground, which one should i get
Answer:	I have a round, 24 foot wide and 5 foot tall above ground pool. The solar blanket probably warmed our pool up 5° - 7° and kept the water from cooling off too much at night. With an in-ground pool, you probably don't have to worry as much about the nighttime cooling. The cover also reduced bugs and leaves. I've been happy with it.
Question:	I've never purchased a pool cover before. If my pool is 12 ft (round), do I buy a 12 ft. cover or do I need to purchase a larger cover
Answer:	The cover is left on the surface of the water. So exact would be ok. However, I have a 24 foot round above ground pool. I buy a 21 foot cover which allows it to ciculat around with the water flow and have room not to catch the ladder. It one gets the exact size they usually cut out for the ladder but don't let it circulate with the water. I found the cut out a bother with the water flow circulation and went with a smaller size which misses the steps.
Question:	how do you get it on and off the pool
Answer:	I have tired reels and a couple other things, but the best is a simple Solar Saddle system. They are PBV pipes that attach to the side of the pool. Simply pull the cover over and lay it in the saddles. Answer:	Yes I think you should be able to cut it down. This item does make the water warm and too hot for us so after 2 days we stopped using it. this is a solar heater not a cover.

Answer:	This cover is made for 12' pools but the actual cover dimensions are approximately 10'. The cover has air filled pockets or bubbles that may deflate with constant pressure since it is designed to rest on top of the water. Hope this helps!

Question:	I have a 16 foot diameter pool. Would the 15 foot cover fit, or can the 18 foot cover be cut to size
Answer:	I have the 18 ft cover and an Intex pool, the cover touches all the sides with a couple of inches left over. I never trimmed mine, as it finds it way down naturally and lays pretty flat. I am not sure if a 15 ft cover would be as generous as this one, if it were, I would say you are probably safe. I have a lot of bunching up in areas that aren't laying flat. Ironically, that is where the water is the warmest. Just know, personally, I think trimming it would be a pain. It is a very large piece of plastic and even standing in the pool, as you cut, you might end up with those little bubble pieces.
Question:	I live in Texas. My issue is not keeping the water warm. This has to do will it help prevent sunlight breakdown of the chlorine

Answer:	No, unless you are the sole cover operator, cover cleaner, cover puter back oner. I have a salt water system and skimmer also run a sweeper once a week. The dirt, grass and salt chips on top of the cover are minimal. I wanted maximum coverage to heat and hold in warmth. Excess air trapped under to escape, not inflate. The surface tension holds the cover firmly on the water even in high winds, you may lose that with extra cover. I think most covers are cut from straight stock and glued, mine was 6" to 12" to large and egg shaped when I received it. They work great.

Answer:	No. It only increases the temperature 6-10 degrees. If the water is hot then it may retain the heat & increase a little but would not be good as a main source of heat.

Answer:	I purchased the kit with 2 solar panels. It comes with pvc caps for one end of the panels. A rubber hose to connect the two panels together on the other end, as well as hose clamps. 2 pvc fittings for input and output flow to the panels. These are made to connect the filter hose to the panels. (although we bought new fittings to use all pvc pipe) It doesn't have any mounting hardware or rack to mount the panels to. So don't expect to have everything you will need. The picture on this ad shows more than what you will get. But performance of this heater has been very satisfying

Answer:	I do not have the manuals but here is the answer to connecting the hoses. The connection is for 1 1/2 hoses. Do NOT use the hoses that come with the dome no matter what.

Answer:	The hoses that come with it aren't long enough, and your filter pump probably isn't strong enough to pump the water up to roof level. IIRC, it does recommend not putting it higher than the water level.

Question:	I have a 10,000 above ground pool would I need more than one of these
Answer:	I used it on a 10 foot diameter, 30 inch deep Intex above ground pool, one of those with the blow-up ring around the top. It would heat it up a little on a warm sunny day. My pool is probably 1,000 gallons. So yes you would need more than one. If you can control the flow of water through the panel with a valve then you could regulate it to get maximum heat by slowing down the flow.
Question:	Is having it installed for an extra fee an option? I'm a senior citizen, and not confident to hook this up by myself
Answer:	As long as you can bend over for a short time, you can handle it! I'm 54 (almost senior), but have a spine injury with a great deal of nerve damage. I was able to install alone. Just make sure you have the suggested lube to get the tubing into the unit, or you won't be able to get it in. That makes it a breeze! Good luck!
Question:	Will this work on my dough boy pool
Answer:	It should. Depends on how much sun etc your yard gets. We have an above ground pool (18 ft around) and normally temps are in the high 60s ( like 68-70) when we open the pool and we freeze when we get in or can't swim at all till mid June. We installed one of these and it's been a big help with raising temps. our yard is semi sunny and our temps have jumped up to 83 in our pool.
Question:	I have 2 conected ro a 1.5hp motor and am not getting much if any heat thru the 2 heaters at all i have it setup just as the directions show
Answer:	How long do you run them? We are in Wyoming. Warm days, cool nights. We run ours from 9 am until about 5 pm. The heater is in the sun the entire time. Our pool, 18 foot round, 4 foot deep, gets to 100 in July. Now with cooler nights and daytime temps, it is at about 90.
