Question:	How many plunger valves and hose adapters does this pump take
Answer:	Depending on your pool model I have just two plunger valves that came with my pool and if you use the plunger valves you do not need adapters looking at my pool there are two different types of plunger valves there is one that is a “T” that the two inlet hoses connect to and one that is just an elbow that is for the outlet the hoses that comes with this pump will connect to those plungers I hope this helps out

Answer:	Keep pressing the pump button, it will go through the number of hours, 1 through 12 and then FP follows 12

Answer:	From the research I did prior to buying this,yes you can. I think, from what I have read, that it would be better with 100 lbs of sand and topped off with the de. It holds up to 120lbs. I have the 100lbs of sand in mine and am happy with it for now.

Question:	I ran 4 cycles with 4 oz. each time with bleach/dishwasher soap in between. There are no black specs only a green tub ring. R the jets clean yet
Answer:	Hillary. It doesn't do any good to run bleach/dishwasher soap in between cleanings with Oh Yuk. Bleach and/or dishwasher detergent can't remove the type of soiling in the jetted tubs plumbing system. It sounds like your jets are clean since you don't see more debris or specs in the tub. On the green tub ring, I'm not sure what could cause this. Do you have an acrylic tub? You could try different cleaning methods to remove the green stain. Try 409, rubbing alcohol, Lime & Scale or CLR. DO NOT MIX THE CHEMICALS TOGETHER, try them separately.
Question:	Should I keep using this if I am halfway through my third bottle and have used this each time consecutively? Brown-green sludge comes out each time
Answer:	What I understand is the method to clean, is to first fill tub will hot water above jet line and drop in 2 doses of dishwasher soap and run for at least 30 min (since this is dishwasher soap, low suds). This loosens the gunk / sludge. Drain the tub and refill with hot water. I follow the bottle directions and use 1/4 of the Oh Yuk bottle and run the jets for 15-30 minutes. Drain. Then fill with cooler water and run for 15 min. This is the rinse cycle. Then it should be good. I have used Oh Yuk for some time and clean my tub every 10 uses. Since I am the only one using the tub, I know the residue is just body oils and and sludge that grows in the jets. I also run my bath exhaust fan for 1 hour after using the tub to help in drying the water in the jets. I hope this helps.

Answer:	The smaller the particles the better it is. It will filter out more bactiria and keep.it clearer. Try and stay at the minimum range size.

Answer:	Just use a pre-filter on your intake tube
Question:	is one 50# bag enough for a standard 55 gallon aquarium
Answer:	I used mine for exactly that purpose and will post a pic of it in my review. One 50# bag will fill a 55gal tank to an avg depth of about 2 inches. For most people, this is sufficient, however, I think I need more for planting and aquascaping. It is really beautiful and cheap silica sand for aquarium purposes.
Question:	What color is the sand. I'm not using it for a pool. Im using it as aquarium substrate
Answer:	That's a great idea. I have a refugium in the sump that grows plants and the sand actually grows a little algae making it have a natural peppered look. I'd have to take a close up of it. Answer:	That is exactly what I purchased this pump for, to replace a cartridge filter. This is a great pump. I hooked it up to my skimmer and also used it to vacuum the bottom of the pool. While vacuuming the bottom you can bypass the filter & discharge the water from the pool to eliminate very fine particles.

Answer:	My pool is 18 ft round by 52 inches deep and holds about 8,000 gallons of water. Filter works great for this size. 28,000 gallons is probably too much for this filter to handle.

Answer:	Don't know if this is what you're looking for, but this pump I got from Hayward through Amazon uses 150 lbs. of sand. On the issue of converting from cartridge to sand, iot you still have your manual for your cartridge pump, there are probably specifications listed on its capacity, GPM, etc. Then you could Google to find a sand filter of comparable capacity. I will say this for Hayward - I have owned their pumps for over 30 years, and I only had to call their customer service people 2 or 3 times...but each time they were EXTREMELY helpful. If you know your capacity, I bet they could tell you which Hayward pump is a equal. Maybe even a local pool dealer might know that??

Answer:	Nope. The required pounds of sand are in the specs and on the label. It will be at least 200 lbs.
Question:	What is difference between this and de
Answer:	There are two basic differences between a sand filter and a DE filter. First is filtration. A DE filter can filter debris down to 5 microns in size; the sand filter can remove debris down to 40 microns in size. The second difference is required maintenance. For either filter this is usually done every six months or when the pressure gauge reads ten pounds above the pressure reading when it was cleaned. The DE filter most be disassembled and each filter element cleaned. Once cleaned, the elements are inspected for damage. If otherwise okay, the filter is reassembled, the equipment is turned on, and the filter is checked for leaks. After this, DE is introduced to the filter through the skimmer. Then you have to clean the mess the cleaning made. Total time to do: 45 minutes to and hour and a half, depending on the mess. The sand filter is cleaned by running the discharge hose to the sewer cut out, rotating the multiport valve to back flush, and turning the equipment on for a few minutes. The equipment is turned off, the multiport valve is rotated back to filter, and roll up the discharge hose. Total time to do: 10 to 20 minutes, depending on how long the discharge hose is.

Answer:	Sorry, I can't answer that. I do know the one I bought is a piece of junk. Just had it for a couple of weeks. Been more trouble than I have had with any of the pool fixtures. The handle on top will not turn to anything except filter. So I can't backwash or waste. I notified Amazon and get I no answer.

Answer:	I have 1.5 HP pump. I did have to replace a hose, but it has worked just fine and the filter has done a good job. Hopefully this helps.
