If you're going to buy and use your own equipment, you need to learn how to clean out anything it sucked up. With my pine trees, I might have to clean it once a week. To the other people replying--don't blame the product if you don't know how to use it. And yes, if you can't figure out how to clean it, do take it to a pool store. Picks up leaves, berries,small sticks and sand that occasionally comes out Sand Filter. This is my 3rd unit I've had. The first I purchased was one that was said to be new but was used and had leaky hoses, returned for refund. Second One that arrived was brand new but was damaged in shipping had to returned for refund. This last one is perfect so far and has updated single hose instead of the put together one. I Leave it running when grandkids aren't in the pool have not had to skim floor or water since. Note as others said you need a strong pump. I upgrade my pool to a Sand Filter,Saltwater Chlorine Generator, In Wall Skimmer and 1 1/2 Hp Pump.

My husband wrote the following: How to troubleshoot an Intex Auto Cleaner which will not reverseWe recently bought an Intex Auto Cleaner. When we first used it, it would move across the floor of the pool, hit a wall, and then stop. It turns out that it was improperly assembled at the factory. Here are the steps to follow to fix this problem:1. Disassemble the Auto Cleaner and open the drive assembly. There is a good YouTube video on how to do this.2. After disassembly and careful removal of the cover of the drive assembly, you will notice that there is a large gear on the left side of the drive assembly. If you manually rotate this gear, you will notice that a plastic piece that resembles an upside down "U" will move to the right, stop for a bit, then reverse direction and move to the left.3. On the cover of the drive assembly, you will notice a small lever which operates a flapper valve. This flapper valve should operate freely by hand.4. CRITICAL STEP! As you reassemble the drive assembly, ensure that the small lever is placed within the upside down "U". Answer:	The Intex is a fairly decent pool vac, but it will only pick up loose dirt and debris, like any pool vac will. Get your chemical balance right and use a hard pool brush (no metal!) to loosen up the algae, then use the pool vac to clean it up. I did learn that the standard 1500 GPH pump does not have enough output power to make this pool vac move. You'll need the 2500 GPH pump (which runs about $85 here on Amazon) and a clean filter to make it run good. You'll also find that the 2500 GPH pump does a lot better job at filtering your pool water.

How long can I leave my Dolphin in the pool?

We recommend taking your Dolphin out of the pool after each use to empty and rinse the filters and to rinse off any excess chemicals. It is ideal to keep your Dolphin out of the pool and stored away when not in use. If your Dolphin has a weekly scheduler, you can keep it in your pool for a week, but you will need to make sure the filter is cleaned.

How to take the robot out of the pool?

Gently pull on the blue floating cable to bring your Dolphin to the edge of the pool. Once your Dolphin is in reach, grasp the handle to pull the robot out of the water. Place the robot on the edge of the pool to let the remaining water drain out. Do not pull the Dolphin out of the water using the cable.

How to use the power supply

Make sure the power supply is placed at least 12 feet from the edge of the pool. Connect the floating cable to the power supply, align the lug on the connector with the notch of the plug on the power supply, then turn clockwise. Press the ON/OFF button on the power supply to begin cleaning. The power supply for your Dolphin is not waterproof- it is water resistant. When in use, make sure it was either stored on the caddy or far away from the pool, so it does not get pulled in. Always use an electrical outlet protected with a Ground Fault Interrupter (GFI) device; this will protect your Dolphin from surges in power. Do not use an extension cord or surge protector to power your Dolphin.

How to store/roll/operate cable

When you Dolphin is in use, only release enough of the cable for your Dolphin to properly cover your pool. Leave the excess cable loosely rolled outside of the pool. When storing your Dolphin on a caddy, carefully wrap the cable so it does not have any kinks and place it around the top of the caddy. Once a week, unplug the cable from the power supply and unwind the tangled portions of the cable, straighten it out and leave in the sun for a few hours. This will help remove any tangling or kinks.

At that time the Tiger Shark was the king but there are better designed models out there unless Hayward re-designed the unit.

How long can I leave my Dolphin in the pool?

We recommend taking your Dolphin out of the pool after each use to empty and rinse the filters and to rinse off any excess chemicals. It is ideal to keep your Dolphin out of the pool and stored away when not in use. If your Dolphin has a weekly scheduler, you can keep it in your pool for a week, but you will need to make sure the filter is cleaned.

How to set the weekly timer

When the power supply is switched on, you can press the weekly timer button to select one of the following cleaning schedules for the week ahead: One click: The robot will automatically work every day for a full cycle. This cycle will have the robot clean seven times in a week. Two clicks: The robot will automatically work every other day for a full cycle; that is four times in a week. Three clicks: The robot will automatically work every three days; that is three times in a week. A fourth click will cancel the cleaning schedule program. After selecting one of the schedule options, the robot will start to operate at the next occurrence of the programed start time. If the robot is working in the weekly timer mode, the weekly timer button will constantly blink between cycles. At the end of the week, the power supply will automatically switch off and you will need to reschedule the robot.

How to take the robot out of the pool?

Gently pull on the blue floating cable to bring your Dolphin to the edge of the pool. Once your Dolphin is in reach, grasp the handle to pull the robot out of the water. Place the robot on the edge of the pool to let the remaining water drain out. Do not pull the Dolphin out of the water using the cable.

How to clean the filters

Cleaning the filters are simple. Just remove the filter(s) from the robot, release the latch to let the dirt and debris fall out, and then hose off any remaining debris. Do not let the filters dry out before cleaning them. Clogged filters reduce the effectiveness of the cleaning. We suggest cleaning your filters every two months. Bag filters can be washed in the washing machine at 30 degrees, using a synthetic wash cycle, and allow to air dry. Cartridge filters can be clean in the dishwasher at 30 degrees. Although the filters may look clean, small particles may dry into the filter material and clog the filters.

Question:	Can this be used for a koi pond
Answer:	Wouldn't suggest it. I don't think it would do really good with too much very fine powdery silt like what's in a pond, it goes right thru the bag even with a knee high hose attached inside for extra filtering. That's when we use the manual vac on the pool to vac to waste. Try at your own risk.
Question:	Do I submerge the blaster halfway and then turn it on? Or do I turn it on and then put it in the water
Answer:	You must turn it on just before you submerge it and don't turn it off till it is out of the water. When you turn it off it opens the cap covering the battery compartment, and you don't want to get water in that.
Question:	What is the output voltage for the charger
Answer:	According to the data plate on the charger it's 10v out. Input ranges from 110-240v.
Question:	I have a Hydro Tools 8351 extension pole. Will that work or do I need a different type
Answer:	I don't know what a Hydro Tools 8351 is but if It is a standard poll it should work. Mine fits on the same poll I use for the leaf basket and bool brush.

Question:	We have a 30' round above ground pool with "wedding cake" pool steps. Will the cleaner move around them without getting stuck
Answer:	Jennie, What happens is the Pool Rover will stop when bumps into something and reverse direction. Remember to lock the wheel axle at an angled position so it will continue in a circular pattern. This unit is excellent!! My pool is 18' round above ground and it cleans my pool when it has leaves and debris in about 15-30 minutes. It really is amazing. One tip I have learned about cleaning the bag: if possible, let it dry out a couple days then, empty it out, then rinse it clean in COLD WATER ONLY. Do not use any chemicals or detergents. Good luck. Answer:	This means a relay has gone out inside the power supply, and it will not engage for more than two so three seconds. Do not expect warranty service from Aquatic Distributors out of Mahwah, New Jersey - this is the company Pool Rover has contracted with to fix all of their defective products. I have been waiting for a call regarding my pool rover for 3 months from the fools over at Aquatic Distributors, and have since decided to deal with the Better Business Bureau. Next will be a false advertising claim levied against the manufacturer for contracting with Aquatic Distributors in order to fulfill their legal requirement of a warranty - even though they (Aquatic Distributors) do not have the prerequisite infrastructure to complete repairs. 5 People cannot service 5k machines a year. The first time I called I was on hold 50 minutes, the second time I called I was on hold an hour and 20 minutes, and the third(and final) time I called, I was on hold 2 hours and 10 minutes, just to get someone who was devoid of English - spoke in Ebonics and did not offer me any assistance. I will never purchase another pool rover, or deal with the inebriates over at Aquatic Distributors/Aquatic Degenerates ever again.
