Question:	Does it attract/kill the tachinid flies that have been killing my monarch caterpillars
Answer:	I've been having a battle with tachinid flies as well. Along with putting a mesh cage over a milkweed and transferring freshly laid eggs onto there to keep the caterpillars safe, I use these bags and I see the nasty tachinids crawl in there.
Question:	How far away from your living space do you have to hang them? I live in a city and worry that my backyard isn't large enough to escape the smell
Answer:	I dont think they will work for you. I hang them on the fence by my manure dumpster. Once they get ripe, I can smell them from at least 100 feet away. Since I live in a rural horse & cow neighborhood, it just blends in with all the other animal smells. The other problem is, they attract flys. Flys from all over will smell them and come to them. That works for me because the bags are hung out by the manure dumpster and they are killing flys coming from all my neighbor's houses too. If you are in a normal city neighborhood, it will probably be too stinky and gross.
Question:	Does anyone know if the ones with the attractant works better than the one without
Answer:	We have bought this one for 4 years and it works great. We keep it to the rear of the yard as it is very stinky and when that bag gets full - yes, it does have 20,000 flies in it. We are happy to be killing future generations of those dirty flies!

Answer:	Purchased 7.10.19. NO, it does not have a locking cap ... it also does not come with a hanger. The top pulls up and provides access to add water to the attractant. The top has a hole to loop a hanger (not provided) through. It has a powerful odor so put it a ways away from your sitting area. When the bag is full DOUBLE bag it to dispose. I did not and had to disinfect my garbage can to eliminate the smell. The big box store item is better - for pennies more uou get a locking top and hanger.

Question:	Any ideas on where I can hang these in my back yard since I have no trees? I have a patio and gazebo but we eat there and don’t want horrid smell
Answer:	It depends on the bait you are using. After all, the flies will be consuming it and bathed in it. This product states the attractant is non-toxic and insecticide free. As long as that is true, it is perfectly safe to feed to your chickens in reasonable quantities. (Don't dump a full trap of flies at once for a handful of chickens.) And maggots, YUM, are just fly larvae that have hatched inside the trap. They are a bonus the chickens will adore.
Question:	Can I just throw it away once filled? I'd rather do that than deal with the stink
Answer:	I didn't look for a fill line. I simply filled the jar half full of water and added the attractant packet. You just need sufficient water to drown the flies that enter the trap. Around my backyard chicken coop (6 hens) the jars fill with flies within 2-3 weeks in the summer and have to be emptied. This product works extremely well.
Question:	Anyone know the effective range of this trap? How many should you have on your property per 1000 sq ft for example
Answer:	I added the packet to the water in the jar while outside. I never noticed a really bad odor. Each day for several days I swirled the solution containing the flys to keep the fluid over the dead flys per the instructions. I didn’t notice a bad smell while doing this.

I read through these reviews before I bought these, drove 3 hours to fly them on the plane and they were not accepted because they actually have holes on the bottom half of the crate so there can't be any holes on the bottom half of the crate. Answer:	Can't imagine "why not"... It worked absolutely fabulously in my backyard! Because there are lots of flies around livestock, your jars will likely fill up with little "corpses" fairly rapidly!

Answer:	Not advised for house flies. I just got these and while within the first minutes a couple house flies had landed on it. I checked back later and there were zero flies on it. They escaped.

Answer:	Yes, they work for all flying insects the size of a fly or smaller. I use them myself to catch flies, fruit flies and mosquitos. They work very well. To help attract the flies, I put a small piece of fruit in the holding cup at the bottom.
