12 best tomcat mole repellents
Tomcat mole repellents are products designed to deter and repel moles from invading lawns, gardens, and other outdoor areas. These repellents are a part of the pest control category and are used to prevent moles from causing damage to the landscape. Here's what you should know about Tomcat mole repellents:
Types of Repellents: Tomcat offers various types of mole repellents, including granules, sprays, and sonic repellent devices. Each type of repellent works differently to discourage moles from burrowing and digging.
Granules: Tomcat mole repellent granules are typically spread over the affected area. These granules emit a scent or create an unpleasant taste in the soil that moles dislike, encouraging them to move away from the treated area.
Sprays: Mole repellent sprays are applied directly to the soil or surface. They often contain ingredients that create an unappealing environment for moles and can deter them from digging.
Sonic Repellent Devices: Some Tomcat products use sound waves or vibrations to create an unwelcoming environment for moles. These devices emit sound pulses that disrupt the moles' sensitive hearing and encourage them to leave the area.
Natural Ingredients: Tomcat mole repellents often use natural ingredients, such as castor oil, as the active ingredient. Castor oil is known to irritate moles, making the treated area less attractive to them.
Ease of Use: Tomcat mole repellents are designed for easy application. Granules can be spread by hand or with a spreader, while sprays can be sprayed directly onto the ground. Sonic repellent devices are placed in the ground and emit sound waves automatically.
Coverage: The coverage area and effectiveness of Tomcat mole repellents may vary depending on the product and application method. It's important to follow the manufacturer's instructions for proper use.
Non-Harmful: These repellents are typically considered humane and non-lethal, as they aim to encourage moles to leave the area rather than harm them.
Effectiveness: The effectiveness of Tomcat mole repellents can vary based on factors such as soil type, weather conditions, and the severity of the mole infestation. Some users may find them to be effective, while others may need to combine repellents with other mole control methods.
Environmentally Friendly: Many Tomcat mole repellents are designed to be environmentally friendly and safe for use around pets and children when used as directed.
In summary, Tomcat mole repellents are products designed to deter moles from causing damage to lawns and gardens. They use various methods, including scent, taste, and sonic technology, to make the environment less appealing to moles. These repellents are typically considered a humane and environmentally friendly way to address mole infestations and protect outdoor spaces.

How To Use Instructions
DAY 1: Spread granules over the undamaged lawn first, preventing mole damage in these areas. Also start treating the damaged lawn nearest to the undamaged lawn. This will start the process of moving moles away from your lawn. Water granules for approximately 20 minutes on a light shower setting. Water and Ground Penetrating Technology (GPT) allows the repellent to absorb into the soil more thoroughly.
DAY 2: Continue the movement of moles by spreading the granules away from undamaged lawn and towards the boundaries of your lawn. Spread the granules over the second area; water the same area as Day 1 plus the second area to get moles moving. Each watering allows the granules with GPT to penetrate more deeply.
DAY 3: Spread the granules over the third area. Water the same area as Days 1 and 2 plus the third area.
DAY 4: Spread the granules over the fourth area. Water the same area as Days 1, 2, and 3, plus the fourth area to push the moles out of your yard.
Mole & Gopher Detection
Moles: A clue that you might have a mole problem is your lawn will look like raised, brown, grassless streaks which are created when moles tunnel below. The other thing to look for are "mole hills" which are seen above ground and are created when the mole pushes soil and debris to the surface.
Gophers: Burrowing pocket gophers (Thomomys spp. and Geomys spp.) throw out low, fan shaped mounds on either side of their underground tunnel.
Baits – Mole Killers
Moles eat bait and leave to die underground.
Mechanical Trap
This non-toxic option provides effective kill without use of baits. It holds the mole for proof of kill.
Repellents
Spread or spray over the lawn as directed and you'll discover that when Tomcat moves in – moles move out.

User questions & answers
Question: | I don't see any information on the pkg about watering it in. Do you need to water after applying |
Answer: | I share your concern. I sprayed 2 days ago and sprayed more heavily in infested areas, but after spraying my yard the bottle felt very full and I wondered if I had sprayed enough. It would be helpful if they would put a "window" on the bottle to see the level. Now 2 days later, I have not seen evidence of fresh activity in the areas that I totally soaked with product, but now it's raining and I wonder how often I will need to reapply. |

Product description
Stay a step ahead of mole and gopher invaders with Victor Mole & Gopher Repellent. It uses a dual action formula to target the senses of burrowing animals, such as moles, gophers, voles, armadillos, and more. It’s formulated with castor oil, so it’s safe to apply on lawns and gardens when used as directed. Plus, the 10 lb bag offers up to 10,000 square feet of coverage. For your convenience, this repellent comes in a resealable bag for easy storage. After applying, water the product into the ground to activate the granules. Once watered in, the granules will penetrate underground tunnels, making the ground smell and taste unpleasant and drive them away before they have a chance to do further damage around your yard. Avoid treating the entire lawn in one application – this may cause moles to tunnel wildly in any direction to escape the repellent. Applying the granules over the lawn in stages will steadily herd moles away from the treated lawn area.
- Effectively repels moles, gophers, voles, armadillos and other burrowing animals with a tunnel penetrating formula
- Dual-action repellent drives animals away by scent and taste
- Resealable bag allows for easy storage when not in use
- Non-toxic and poison-free formula
- Safe for use around children and pets when used as directed
User questions & answers
Question: | Is this a Sweeney's Product |
Answer: | Yes. You water all areas it's been applied to for 20 minutes a day for up to four days. If you apply it to four zones, you apply the first zone and water it. Next day, you apply to zone 2 and water zones 1 and 2. Day 3, apply zone 3 and water all three zones, etc. The zone application is intended to force them to leave as successive areas become unpleasant. If you really get excessive rain, the bag states that reapplication may be needed. What it doesn't say is how often it should be reapplied to keep moles out once they've gone. |
Question: | How often do you apply victors mole and gopher repellent |
Answer: | I spent a lot of money on Tomcat and used it exactly according to the instructions. It prove to be a total waste of money. If it had worked, I would have successfully pushed the mole to my neighbors yard, but Tomcat enabled me to keep the mole in my lawn (sorry for the sarcasm). |
Question: | Is it safe to use to use in our vegetable garden |
Answer: | My experience dealing with them has been that any one product applied may not move them out of your area. This one is only a part of the products I use to get them out of our yard. Think it may have helped. Good luck. |
Question: | will this work for chipmunks |
Answer: | I believe it is....BUT this stuff DID NOTHING to rid my yard of voles😠😠😠 |

Victor Mole & Gopher Repellent - 10 lb Bag
Stay a step ahead of mole and gopher invaders with Victor Mole & Gopher Repellent. It uses a dual action formula to target the senses of burrowing animals, such as moles, gophers, voles and more. The granules penetrate their tunnels, creating an unpleasant environment, which drives them away before they have a chance to do further damage around your yard. In addition, it’s easy to use. Simply apply the granules to your yard to gradually to drive them out. For your convenience, it comes in a resealable bag for easy storage.
Dual-Action Repelling
Victor Mole & Gopher Repellent works by slowly driving burrowing animals away in stages. The fast-acting formula targets multiple senses for dual-action repelling. Once inside the tunnel, the granules make everything in the tunnel smell and taste unpleasant, sending the unwanted pests scurrying to find a more favorable place to live.
Tunnel-Penetrating Formula
Made with specially engineered castor oil pellets, this repellent is easily absorbed into the ground, allowing the granules to reach the tunnel quickly. The trick is in the application process – daily watering of the granules allows them to penetrate further into the tunnels. The 10 lb bag provides up to 10,000 total square feet of coverage.
All Natural
Not only is Victor Mole & Gopher Repellent effective and easy to use, but you can also feel confident in the knowledge that it’s all natural. It is non-toxic and poison-free! In addition, this repellent formula is safe for use around your family and pets, as well as the environment when used as directed.
How to Apply
Every mole invasion is different, so it is important to think about your strategy before applying the granules. You should first identify the mole areas with the most activity and decide which direction to herd them out of the yard. Note: Application may require more steps depending on the size of your yard.
- Day 1 - Spread the granules over the first area and water-in with a sprinkler for approximately 20 minutes. Watering allows the concentrated granules to penetrate deeply into the lawn.
- Day 2 - Spread the granules over the second area. Water-in the same are as Day 1, as well as the second area to get the mole moving. Each day’s watering allows the granules to penetrate more deeply.
- Day 3 - Spread granules over the third area. Water-in the same areas as Day 1 and 2, as well as the third area to keep the mole moving.
- Day 4 - Spread the granules over the fourth area. Water-in the same areas as Days 1, 2, and 3, as well as the fourth area to move the mole out of the yard.

Question: | When the moles go away where do they go? Maybe to my neighbors lawn |

Each pound of granular will cover approximately 1,000 sq. ft., so 7 lbs. will cover 7,000 sq. ft. and 24 lbs. will cover 24,000 sq. ft. with a single application. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any other questions regarding this item, We would love to assist you. Very Respectfully, Tempus & Co. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this work for gofers as well |
Answer: | No. Gophers are vegetarian so they want roots mostly. There are products designed for gophers, but gopher traps are a good choice with some practice. |
Question: | if the product poisons the mole and kills it and another animal eats the mole will it kill the other animal |
Answer: | I do not know. I have no data. I have not seen any dead moles on the surface of my lawn. That being said, I would think the affected mole would die in its habitat (underground tunnels) and therefore the risk would be minimal to other animals, unless the other animal digs it up and eats it. |
Question: | Not sure i'm understanding this. do you use this with a trap as bait or is this some sort of poison you use by itself |
Answer: | It is a poison. You find active tunnels then poke a hole and insert the bait. When i find an area of activity I flatten all the surface tunnels then watch closely for new activity (I wait an hour then check every 30 minutes). Once some new tunnels pop I insert bait that way I don't waste bait. I have a 1 acre yard and had activity in 3 spots. Two have ceased but the third is stubborn. 66% is pretty good IMO. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Inside my box was a congratulations you won with a website. That website does not exist. What's that all about? I even tried 3 different sites |
Answer: | This absolutely has an odor when it dries. It doesn't stink like a skunk, but if you smell where you spray you can smell it. If you get it on your hands you will definitely smell it. |
Question: | Will this work for squirrels or rabbits or just underground pests |
Answer: | I used this to get rid of an armadillo near my oak tree, and it did work. Haven't seen the animal since. |
Question: | How many stakes come in a pack |
Answer: | I did not use this in grass, only mulch. I did not have any luck with this. Still looking for something to get rid of moles. |
Question: | Is this product effective for gophers |
Answer: | Castor oil does not kill moles. Rather, the oil is an ingredient in various home remedies and commercial products that will merely evict them. Castor oil upsets a mole's digestive tract and causes stomach upset. Topically, it makes them itch. It does not cause permanent irritation or damage, but in theory, the moles will reroute their tunnels and feed elsewhere. If you mix the solution yourself, purchase oil marked "unrefined" to cut costs. Pour one gallon of water into a bucket. Mix 6 ounces of castor oil and 2 tablespoons of an oil based or vegetable based detergent into the water. The detergent acts as a carrier for the sometimes sticky oil. Pour the mixture into a spray bottle or a hose sprayer. Turn on the lawn sprinkler or hose. Saturate the target area with approximately one 1/4 inch of water. Saturate the soil where the moles appear with the castor oil solution. Spray the roots of freshly transplanted flowers and shrubs in frequently attacked areas. Follow immediately with another inch of water to thoroughly soak the solution into the ground. |
