Answer:	Capsaicin and Capsaicinoids 0.35%. Other ingreds contain Petroleum Distiiate 99.65%. This stuff works very well and is effective. I do recommend this product and carry it whenever we walk our dog.
Question:	How is this any different than standard pepper spray? Just branding
Answer:	It's not, other than the potential for strength differences between products. Mace is a brand that uses capsaicin pepper spray as well as tear gas. I'm not sure if tear gas can cause any complications for dogs or not.
Question:	Does this product have an expiration date? If so, how far out is it
Answer:	I sent www.halt.com an email 11/10/14 and as of this comment, no response back - yet. Nothing noted on containers for shelf life or expiration date.
Question:	How many shots can you get from one can
Answer:	Don't know yet, hope I never find out. But I have "fired" 4-5 short bursts so far and there seems to be plenty left in the can. Each time the barking stopped and the dog left. My rule is that a barking dog behind me is in an attack position; if it closes it gets a shot. A dog that actually attacked would get a facefull, not a warning shot.

Answer:	I put this on a rug that my dog kept peeing on. I had to soak it almost but it works. And he still use the rug as it was intended which I thought he would try to avoid because of the smell

Answer:	I use it on the pots on my patio because my three dogs are all male and they hike their legs on anything. They are small dogs so it works very well in that regard. I haven’t used it on plants because what I have outside doesn’t spill over and hang down. If I were you, I’d spray it on a few leaves and see what happens. Plants are all different about what they will tolerate.

Answer:	This is not a very big bottle. I did spray a little on particular spots of my lawn and didn’t notice any damage. Unfortunately, this spray did not detour my dog at all. He did not see where I put the spray, when I let him out he went right to the usual spots, I was trying to keep him from.

Answer:	Personally? I wouldn’t. I’m sure that after numerous sprayings hit would have to do some kind of damage to the area I’m actually not happy with the product as it really did not work anywhere near what I expected.

Answer:	Yes. It repeatedly tore apart the trash and the lock to the shed it was in. We were beginning to worry that it would break the door to the house down so put some decoy trash in a bag in front of the shed. Heavy sprinkle. No more bear. Works for raccoons also. Answer:	While cat sitting for my neighbor, I trained the cats NOT to jump up on her kitchen counters. I only used three scat mats plus a variety of kitchen items to block the other areas. They were very stubborn and it took a few days, but by the time she returned in a week, they had learned that ANYWHERE they jumped up was not pleasant. (Used low and sometimes medium settings. Also repositioned the mats to new areas every 2 days, therefore repositioning the kitchen items. They learned that there was a potential shock anywhere. My dogs won't go near the scat mats now. I sometimes think I should try to replace them sometimes with a "dummy" (like a clear carpet runner from Lowes, etc.) I'm betting they won't test it either. They have great respect for the scat mats. I did test all three settings on myself first. Lowest is like the shock we sometimes get from static electricity. Med slightly more intense. Even high does not really hurt. I only used it once on one mat for a few days because of Mr. Stubborn (medium weight dog). Company recommends lowest for cats and puppies, medium for small-medium adult dogs and high for big dogs. Easy to clean, mostly invisible, battery and battery pack easy to place and remove. Love that they have a variety of sizes. Of the 4 I own, I have three sizes for various locations and purposes. Be sure to ROLL them up if storing for more than an hour. You don't want a crease in them. Eventually works its way back to "flat." I'm placing this answer in the reviews as well and giving it 5 stars. No problems at all with any of them.

Answer:	If they make one for deer, then there must be a different ingredient in it to repel deer ? But if a deer sniffs around like a dog, and gets a whiff of the dog repellent, I would think it would not be pleasant for the deer and maybe could work to repel the deer. After all, a deer could be compared to a large dog like a great dane or st bernard ? I'd give it a try, just make sure area does not get wet from rain or sprinklers, it can dilute it and wash it into dirt, making product less effective or useless.
Question:	I don't mind friends who visit to bring their dogs over, I just don't want their dogs crapping. Will this prevent dogs from even hanging out on lawn
Answer:	The only way to "prevent" dogs from doing their business on your lawn is to have a fence to keep them out. That said, I don't have a fence on the front of my property, and I use this product as an an animal deterrent. I use it in the spots where dog/cats have gone and it keeps them away. Keep in mind that a treatment won't last forever and it is degraded by the weather (rain/snow), so you have to determine when to reapply it. Hopefully, they will find another place to do their business but there's no guarantee, unless they are physically prevented from accessing your lawn. I hope this helps you out.

Question:	Directions say shake, move a piece then spraying. Anyone had trouble with being able to spray it quickly
Answer:	No. In fact, one time I wasn't prepared and it was on my belt (be sure to get the one with belt clip) and I was able to get it off my belt, shake it (just 2 shakes does it) , move the lever and spray before the dog got to us. I always give a warning shout (NO! or STOP!) to the charging dog, thinking if I run into that particular dog again, I can just give a warning and they'll know what's coming. Heh.
Question:	My dog becomes reactive when larger dogs attempt to dominate her. Would this spray get them to back off
Answer:	my dog is reactive when a loose dog approaches her because she's been attacked twice by loose dogs, and yes, it definitely has kept dogs away. You don't even have to actually spray the dog - i just spray the air at the dog and they hate the smell and run away. i think it works great and carry it on all our dog walks.
