User questions & answers
Question: | Works for golden pothos |
Answer: | You must keep your pets off the lawn until you water it in and the lawn completely dries. I gave it a few extra days because the pellets do not all dissolve at the same time. I had better luck using a product with a hose and sprayer and liquid product. Also children should stay off the lawn the same amount of time. |
Question: | Does this work on orchids outside |
Answer: | I experienced no problems around my plants. I have found all the Bonide products work as well or better than advertised. I went to their website. It's very informative. |
Question: | Does this kill the thrips |
Answer: | I don't know what Rollie pollies are and don't recall ever seeing them in my area. I live in Michigan and I have slugs when it's very wet and humid. This product is the best thing I've ever found for riding them from my yard. I'm sorry I've never seen these in my yard and I've been here over thirty years. Must be found in a warmer climate then here, our winter's are long and cold. Sorry I couldn't be more help. |
Question: | Can you use this in conjunction with bti, or will the bonide kill the bti? have both to use to eradicate fungus gnats |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does it work for Magnolia Scale? Thank you |
Answer: | I use it to kill scales on my citrus plants but not sure this is Magnolia scale. Be careful not to put too much as this will 'shock' the plant and it will lose all its leaves and possibly die - I found this out the hard way. Best to use a modest amount and wait a week to see if scales are turning brown and thus dying. I recommend this product and will buy more |
Question: | Does this product get rid of scale |
Answer: | Only insects. If scale is caused by any non-insect disease, it won’t work. Google scale to find out. |
Question: | does this product take care of red spider mites |
Answer: | No. Spider mites are not insects they are mites. Regular insecticides will not kill spider mites and sometimes makes them worse. You have to use a miticide, neem oil but watch what you put that on it will kill or burn some plants or try Murphy's oil soap or dish soap mixed with water. Reapply in about 5 days to kill any newly hatched eggs. |
Question: | Why do I still see fungus gnats flying around after one week post-application? I thought it killed anything that ingested the pesticide |
Answer: | Treating fungus gnats requires a multi-prong approach to address all stages of its lifecycle (egg, larvae, pupae, adults). Treatments are not a "one-time only" kind of thing. What you see flying around is the adults whose main goal is to lay eggs in the moist soil. The adults do not feed on the plants so this insecticide does nothing to kill them. Adults generally live about a week but will lay approximately 300 eggs in that time. When the larvae emerge, they live in and feed on the organic matter in the soil for about 2 weeks. My understanding is that most types of fungus gnats do not feed on the plant roots if there is sufficient organic matter in the soil. So, again, this systemic insecticide won't kill the larvae if they are not eating the roots. It is not until they become adults that they emerge from the soil and then the cycle begins again. Here is what I do to address fungus gnats: - Provide gentle airflow in the room and use well-draining potting soil to allow the soil to dry out sooner. I add extra perlite to almost all bagged potting soils for my indoor plants. Try not to overwater. - Keep yellow sticky traps around my plants at all times. These catch and kill the adults. When I had a bad infestation, I put lots of the sticky traps in my pots and changed them as they filled up with gnats. Now I just keep one trap near the plants as a way to monitor for the presence of any pests. - Use "Mosquito Dunks" or other similar products that contains BTi (Bacillus Thuringiensis subspecies Israelensis) as a soil drench. BTi is a naturally occurring bacteria that kills the larvae of both mosquitoes and fungus gnats but is safe for people and pets. Soak half of a "Mosquito Dunks" donut in a gallon or so of water overnight. Use this solution to water the plants. Make sure to thoroughly drench the entire soil surface, especially around the sides/edges of the pot. With an active infestation, it is necessary to reapply the solution at least weekly for a minimum of 6 weeks to stop the lifecycle. You will initially see a decrease in fungus gnats but do not be deceived! If you only treat 1-2 times, they will return. The "Dunks" can be reused many times. - As a preventive measure, I use the "Mosquito Dunks" soil drench at least once a month to replace one of my regular waterings. Between doing this and monitoring the sticky traps, I no longer have problems with the annoying little creatures. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the active ingredient? The picture of the bottle is too fuzzy to read |
Answer: | Depends on how big. I can fit a small Gatorade container in it. That's what I put my needles in. Hope that helps |
Question: | Does this product kill foliar mealy bugs |
Answer: | I agree with the sellers answer from 3/18. Make sure it's in the close position and pump until the needle starts moving. Sometimes if the cuff isn't on correctly it takes longer to see the needle start moving. If that doesn't work, it may be defective. |
Question: | Will this kill Spit Bugs |
Answer: | 6" x 9" |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can this be used for muhly grass outside |
Answer: | I have not tried it but as long as you dilute it I don't see why not.I would try a small hidden area first to test it out. |
Question: | Is this good for dwarf canvendish banana trees |
Answer: | I use this product for my dwarf fig trees it works well . I have dwarf fig on my balcony. |
Question: | Why does the bottle say not to store diluted product |
Answer: | I read that too and wondered the same. I thought maybe by making the solution and store it the water would evaporate and the fertilizer would be stronger and harm your plants That was my guess anyway. When I make the solution in a gallon jug, i just make sure to use it within a couple days. BTW, all my indoor plants love it! I hope I helped. |
Question: | How many square feet does this give you |
Answer: | We used 1 kitchen teaspoon per gallon of water. So it all depends on how much water you use on the plants. We also stored leftover feed in an old milk jug written on all four sides for what it contains. Hope this helps. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can this be used on adults hair for sm. Black and white bugs these bugs bite and I can't get them out of my hair , apartment and all my clothes |
Answer: | This may be fleas. Our area has a huge problem with them and we had a nightmare of a time with the rental we moved into. They are white and crawl like any other bug when first hatched and looking to feed. As they mature, that is when they are dark brown to black and hop everywhere. I cannot tell you how much research I had to do to find out what on earth was biting us in that house. No official info on pests clarifies this! We thought they were multiple kinds of bugs here, freaking out and getting bitten and crawled on the entire time. Moving again was not an option and none of the pesticides in stores work! So, I can understand the desperation. Like the bed bug epidemic, these are becoming immune to most pesticides as well and require a meticulous whole home overhaul, multiple times in a row to get rid of them. It is insanity. You will need a high percentage permethrin (try Martin's) and all natural 100% neem oil. These can be used for dilution in shampoos, lotions, hair creams, homemade cleaning products and sprays--everything. I recommend making your own and investing in other essential oils that kill/repel these monsters like peppermint, tea tree, rosemary, and lemongrass oil, which smell great, to boot, and mixing different combos of them into castille soap for basic skin, hair, and cleaning products. Soak laundry in hot water and ammonia (I use lemon ammonia, lavendar cleaning vinegar, and baking soda combo) prior to wash then dry on high heat. Next wash, soak in permethrin. This lasts for several washes afterward and helps make things like linens and towels bug repellant for weeks. For vacuum powder, mint and geraniol added to diatomaceous earth and/or baking soda. Brush into carpet. Leave 24 hours, then vacuum up and discard bag, tied up in outside trash can, immediately. Mop with the ammonia mix daily. Spray home with loaded permethrin concentrate dilute and neem spray (two different sprays) weekly or however often it says is safe. The neem bottle may or may not tell you how much to use for each intended purpose, but you can look this up. And always go for natural, cold-pressed, virgin oils. I use this neem oil around my home, but it says that if it comes in contact with the skin, to rinse immediately for 15 minutes and contact poison control! So, given that there is clearly a bunch of other stuff in this, I'd pass on homeopathic use. Sounds dangerous. Go for a therapeutic grade with no other ingredients, check number of review stars before choosing, and go with the largest bottle for your dollar. No doubt you are already going broke trying to fight these things. And you are going to need a lot as you will want to put it in everything. I mixed some of the Bonide concentrate into a spray bottle with lemon ammonia and water for cleaning a room that suddenly made me itchy (I recently cleaned out our clutter closet and think I unleashed another of their apocalypse hiding spots for when the exterminator comes through and during winter) and immediately the itching stopped. And I didn't even spray myself! Just the bed and carpet right in front of me. So it definitely works. But, don't resort to using it on your body! There are alternatives, but you will have to make them yourself. Good luck. |
Question: | Description: "32 oz., Concentrate, Neem Oil." Actual Ingredients: 0.9% "Clarified Hydrophobic extract of Neem Oil," 99.9% "other ingredients." LEGAL |
Answer: | This information was at a greenbook website: Section II - Hazardous Ingredients/Identity Hazardous Components (Specific Chemical Identity: Common Name(s) Pyrethrins Piperonyl Butoxide, Tech. Clarified Hydrophobic Extract of Neem Oil Other Inert Ingredients |
Question: | If you spray it right from the container without diluting, is it really a concentrate |
Answer: | You are confused. This product has been diluted and is ready to use. That is why t is in the spray bottle. It is not a concentrate. Furthermore oils and water don't mix so one should not add water to it nor if you are mixing Neem oil with something else, it has to be an oil not water. If you look up Neem oil , you can use Soybean oil or coconut oil if using the mixture on yourself to keep away mosquitos. In this product the inactive ingredients are not listed, but since they are inactive they don't have to be. |
Question: | Has anyone had problems using this on vegetable plants? I'm growing veggies this year and I don't want anything toxic |
Answer: | While neem oil may be harmless, I have contacted the company to find out what the rest of the ingredients are. After all, if I am concerned about what I use in my garden, I should be entitled to know what is in it. This is the response I got: "The other 30% is inert ingredients. Inert ingredients are classified as confidential by law, so I'm not at liberty to give them out." To me this rings alarm bells! I ended up purchasing pure neem oil. You still dilute it, as you would this product. This way I do not have 30% of undisclosed ingredients to deal with and neem oil is the only active ingredient anyway. The product I chose is Coastal Scents Neem Oil, 16.90 Fluid Ounce, for $13, on Amazon. I like that it is fare trade and not tested on animals. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does it kill thrips |
Answer: | Yes it on the list of insects on the label. I use it for Japanese Beatles |
Question: | Is this product organic |
Answer: | I use the recommended ration on all plants because the bugs I use it for are little skinny white worms that eat up the roots. If you don't get the answer you are looking for then I would suggest trying a slightly diluted formula first as a test. We use Neam oil on our rose foliage. Neam oil needs to be shaken constantly as you spray it since oil and water rapidly separate. |
Question: | Does this work for fungus gnats |
Answer: | I looked at the label it will kill over 100 different insects but I didn't see squash vine borer |
Question: | Has anyone used this to prevent squash borers? My zuchinni squash yield has been very poor for the last two years when only using insecticides |
Answer: | I am a certified pesticide applicator here's the best advice any one can give you: Read the label including all safety rules, harvest restrictions, what pests it will kill etc.; you can get it for free online from bonide products; if its not labeled for it do not use it. This product is highly effective against a wide variety of bugs but is especially effective against beetles & other hard shelled insects such as fleas & ticks. If worms are your issue this will work too but there are other products that work on worms such as BT & pyrethroids (bonide products sells these as well). The chemical is Permetherin; many products contain Permetherin; they are not all the same strength & thus are not used (labeled) for same things. Always read the label & use the correct amount of any pesticide & do not use the same pesticide all the time. Following label instructions & changing products (modes of action) minimizes the changes of resistance to the product & ensures satisfactory results. |

Question: | Does this kill ticks |
Answer: | I live in Florida and this usually held up for a few rains. It will eventually have to be replaced, but we find the Bonide line of products do really well as an organic option for us. User questions & answers
Question: | Will this kill/ control white flies on hibiscus |
Answer: | I used this for whiteflies and scale on a new palm tree, along with a systemic insecticide. I think the combination worked and they’re pretty much gone. The Bonide would probably do well for your Hibiscus. Just make sure you cover the whole plant with it-including undersides of the leaves. |
Question: | does this kills whiteflies |
Answer: | Yes, this product controls whitefly |
Question: | How many gals of spray does it make? What is the water to chemical ratio |
Answer: | This varies based on the type of plant. You can find the dilution and application instructions on the label: https://www.bonide.com/assets/Products/Labels/l210.pdf |
Question: | how is this different from Neem Oil |
Answer: | The all season's oil coats the insects and smothers them as insects breath thru their skin. Neem oil does similar and also when is taken in by the insect while feeding it makes the insect not want to eat. Neem also prevents some plant diseases Both are safe organic insecticides. |

User questions & answers
Question: | would it work on deseased lyland syber trees |
Answer: | This is a natural sulfa mineral powder. It is anti-fungal agent. If a lot is ingested it would probably give the cat the runs, however if used properly and your cat like mine simply was around it, then no. I have 2 indoor cats who stray into our backyard and a feral cat which is adopting our deck. I've used this for several years without any noticeable ill effects. |
Question: | What is the difference in Bonide 611 and |
Answer: | I live on two treed acres and we are surrounded by forrest. This being said we have a lot of deer and other critters. The only thing that I have found that works 100% of the time is garlic or garlic juice, I buy spikes filled with garlic juice and nothing touches my bushes or plants. |
Question: | Does this work for lantern flies |
Answer: | Our tomato and pepper plants were completely wiped out the year before, so this last season when the leaves started to droop, we did research and found this product on Amazon. We received the Bonide in three days, dusted them, and never lost a plant. The plants were healthy and we grew large crops. I highly recommend this product. . . . . I bought two new dusters, but the simple one by Hudson works best. |
Question: | What is the % concentration of Imidacloprid |
Answer: | Instructions are inside the attached label packet. Concentration depends on desired use. A good product ! |
