Answer:	I didn’t fill it all the way up and it didn’t bust over the winter and was still strong enough to hold.

I imagine it will hold your umbrella fine. It’s heavy, but can be emptied and then lightweight and easy to move. I have mine filled with water and it does great. I live in Florida so my umbrella is up 24/7/365 and even in wind storms and some pretty nasty storms, the umbrella has never fallen over. (Full disclosure, it did get tucked in the shed during the last hurricane so I cannot attest to hurricane strength winds!)

Answer:	It has not led to cracking at this point. It is colored exposed concrete on top.

Question:	Can it be left out all year round in northern climates? Live in Chicago area
Answer:	There was no instruction sheet. You just put the umbrella in the stand and tighten the nut.
