How Do I Properly Start My Torch Kit?

Starting with everything off and closed (Propane tank and needle valve) slowly crack the knob of your propane tank about ¼ to ½ of a turn. This will provide plenty of propane flow, depending on the level of propane in your tank, to provide a large usable flame. Next, you need to wait about 5-10 seconds for the propane to fill the hose. You will then slowly crack your adjusting needle valve about ½ a turn, and then proceed to light the torch. Following this procedure (also listed in your torch kit's instruction booklet) will prevent the safety valve from engaging and prohibiting your use. If you find that you have turned your kit on too quickly, shut everything off and give the P.O.L. safety feature time to reset (about 1 minute). See also instructions for clearing your Torch Kit's orifice. Hint: Neither the tank valve nor the needle valve on the torch needs to be opened all the way to get a usable flame.

Answer:	I would say it is about half as loud as a small torpedo heater. I generally have a safety headset/radio on when I use it. BE CAREFUL how close you get to items that can burn or melt. I had my Loop-Lock pool cove folded up about 5 feet away from some weeds I was "cooking." It wasn't until a month later I discovered I melted four panels! Close to $500.00 to fix!
Question:	How long would a patio grill tank last with this full on
Answer:	Probably only about 2 hours or so. Full on is extreme heat and a ton of flame. At 500,000 BTUs it is, at maximum output, 10 times more than your average grill on high.
Question:	Is the handle long enough that you can stand straight up to use this on patio weeds, or do you end up having to bend over slightly? I have a bad back
Answer:	The entire metal part is 36" long. My husband is 6' 3" and I do not believe that he has to bend over. I am about 5' 8" and have no trouble at all with it. Hope this helps

Answer:	Just measured it, 2 inches exactly
Question:	Can the gas pressure be controled away from the tank end (near nozzle) and does it go up to 40 psi
Answer:	Yes, the amount of pressure can be controlled by the handle (away from the propane tank). I'm not sure of the psi, but it seems to allow a good amount of propane to flow through.
Question:	How long did the weeds stay down
Answer:	There's a seed bank in the soil that will germinate when exposed (which is why tilling can initiate a flush of weeds). With multiple treatments the seed bank will be exhausted, so whether they "come back" depends on your specific situation, but eventually it should be less and less.
Question:	Can this be used to set fire to someone’s place of work/office? Asking for a friend
Answer:	Yes it would work... But don't forget to pour lots of high grade gasoline on everything first...I learned this in the last few places I burned down with a propane torch... By the way it also works well to light your cigarettes on those windy arson days if you're a smoker like me ...Heck I even smoke em in the shower...

Answer:	The tank is empty and can be filled at your local propane provider.
Question:	is it OK to attach the Red Dragon to a gas ball used for a grill and tied to a dolly behind you
Answer:	Hi Diane. We just got our Red Dragon back pack unit this week and used it for the first time yesterday. We started out with it connected to a grill tank attached to a dolly to get a feel for how the unit works. This worked out well for us just remember the hose will be a little short and you shouldn't have a problem. Make sure to strap the tank securely to the dolly.
Question:	Do the weeds grow back
Answer:	Other weeds will grow back, but not the ones you torched.
Question:	How does it do on english ivy
Answer:	Love my Dragon! This will kill anything. Some weeds, mostly perennials, you may need to flame twice to totally kill an energy left in the roots. What I like about flaming weeds is that the result is immediate. I usually wait until a light rain then go to town around the house with no risk of mulch catching fire. Good luck.

Answer:	It does not come with a propane tank. The ideal size is 14 oz to 1 lb propane cylinders that can be purchased at most Hardware stores.

Answer:	The tool or the fuel? If you take care of it it should last a long time. Hardly any moving parts. As far as gas, that depends on your usage. It’s pretty efficient on fuel use from my opinion. Just be sure to take the fuel canister off when storing it.

Question:	Why not use a battery powered weed whipper, that recharges for years and actually cuts the weeds off so you can remove them
Answer:	Kills more of the root rather than just cutting which will re grow. I've got gravel areas as well which can get flung around by weed whackers. Both tools have their uses.

Answer:	depends on what you are burning, I melt gold on maybe a quarter tank for say ten minutes, so basicly you have to know your metal and how to work it. other metals take less time because the intense heat is not required as gold melts at 1100 to 1200c.

Answer:	There are two primary differences in the torches; the first is that the TS8000 generates a much higher temp than the TS4000. If you're just doing soldering for plumbing, or extremely light brazing on very thin materials, the TS4000 is probably adequate. If you also need higher temps for the occasional light brazing of something like a lawnmower/snowblower part, then definitely go with the TS8000 with MAPP gas. If you want to do any cutting or heavier brazing, you'll need a different unit that injects oxygen from a tank.The second difference is the TS4000 is either on, or off with no control on the amount of heat, where the TS8000 does have a valve to control the burn level.I own both the TS4000 and the TS8000 and would always recommend the TS8000 for the extra few dollars. While the TS4000 works quite well, it's level of control & functionality are definitely limiting.

Answer:	I wouldn't refer to it as a 'pilot'...you turn the gas tank on...you turn the Mag-Torch wand on to the level you feel comfortable (low is good!)...you flick the 'igniter' @ the end of the wand & when it ignites, you can adjust the torch up or down according to your needs...keep in mind that at FULL output it's 500,000 BTU's!!!

Answer:	It is made to be used with the 16 ounce bottle which is 8 inches tall and about 4 inches wide. However I have heard of people who hook up a large propane tank using a hose to attach to this for a longer burn without having to refuel. Answer:	I am not a propane expert; but since I use the torch on a regular basis the propane bottle stays on until empty as a matter of convenience (more than anything) and I have never had a problem.

Answer:	I would put the burn tip to the weeds to make sure its lit mine u can barely see when lit. If thats not the answer open the valve a full turn and then try to light it. It's not going to hurt opening the valve more than an 1/8 turn. Just don't have it near anything combustible when lighting.
