Answer:	When replacing the line, use only 0.065 inch (1.65mm) diameter round line. Other diameters or shapes may degrade performance or cause damage to the trimmer. Unplug trimmer. Remove the empty spool from the trimmer. Remove any remaining cutting line from the spool. Make a fold at the end of the cutting line at about 3/4 inch (19mm). Feed the cutting line into one of the line anchoring slots. Insert the 3/4 inch (19mm) end of the bulk line into the hole in the spool adjacent to the slot. Make sure the line is pulled tight against the spool. Wind the cutting line onto the spool in the direction of the arrow on the spool. Make sure to wind the line on neatly and in layers. Do not crisscross. When the wound cutting line reaches the recesses, cut the line. Fit the spool and cap onto the trimmer.

Answer:	I have arthritis in my large joint of my thumb, and after using this for about 30-45 minutes - my hand is screaming at me. The issue is that you have to squeeze two buttons simultaneously. The top isn't that bad, but the bottom button does take a bit of effort (for a 40+ yr old woman). Coupled with the weight of the motor, it is a noticeable difference from my prior small electric weed eater. It would stop me from buying it, but I think it should be a consideration in designing the next model.

Answer:	it is pretty easy ..there is a spot on there fill to anchor the string then you just wrap it very carefully ,,make sure that you keep it straight.. there are YOU TUBE videos on it...

Answer:	yes - my LST136 will not autofeed with the newer slightly different version of AF100 spools that lack the chamfered spindle hole, old 18v model still autofeeds a champ with same spools
Question:	Does this one come with the high speed charger? or the regular one? how long does it take to charge
Answer:	Regular charger I believe. For me it seems to take about three hours to recharge. I have two because I also bought a hedge trimmer. They seem to last about 25 minutes each, which is more than I can last.
Question:	What's the difference between this 140c model and the current lst136 model? autofeed
Answer:	There is actually not much difference between the two. By the way, the LST136 is a discontinued model, while the LST140C is a current model...I think it just came out this year.They both have the same autofeed, and use the same spool, and of course, the same size line. The LST136 will pull 40v at max power, and 36v at normal/lower power...I noticed that someone has claimed that the LST140C is just on/off, but pages six and twelve of the manual says it's a variable speed control. I experimented a little, and it appears that the trigger's range of motion between off and full power is very, very short, as opposed to the LST136 (I really hate the bastard who stole mine--I'd either have to spend a lot more, or travel to another city to get another). I just now checked the B&D website to see what they say, and the LST136 is supposed to spin at 6500-8500 rpm, while the LST140C is supposed to be just 6500 rpm. Either their manual is wrong, or their website...take your pick.The LST136 uses the LBXR36 battery pack, and the LST140C uses the LBX1540...but aside from minor style differences (including rubber on the bottom of the LBXR36), and the LBX1540 having a three level charge indicator vs. the four that the LBXR36 has, they are identical, including charge/use time. They are interchangable, which is the very first thing I tried out, once I'd put my 140C together. By the way, that battery has been off the charger for about a year, give or take a few months, and it appears to still have a full charge on it...awesome!My LST136 came with the fast charger, and the LST140C I just bought came with a slow charger, which is likely part of why the LST140C is cheaper. The fast charger is a lot bigger...the battery fits into it, while the slow charger is a little thing that clips onto the terminals.On the LST140C, the plastic runs around a foot further down the shaft, with the handle snapping onto a pair of spring-loaded buttons, one of which has indentations which lock the position of the handle...a great improvement over the handle design of the LST136. The handle on the LST136, if I recall correctly, can be moved up and down the shaft, and can easily be accidentally turned out of line with the control switch, which isn't all that helpful. Also, the LST140C's length adjustment is mounted on the lower end of the plastic, as opposed to being somewhere between the handle and the head.If there is any difference between in the head/guard, it isn't much at all.I wish the LST140C's switch had a bit more play, but I suspect it won't really matter overall.

Question:	What’s the grass height of the mini mower
Answer:	we read before buying a guy used it on 10 inch grass on a slope. We also used it on a slope that slopes right to the lake, it does work on any height, if the grass is higher( over 12 ") u start higher going to the bottom . It is a great little mower, I use it for everything in our yard. We have close to an acre and it is on a slope like I said that goes right into the lake. It is to hard on my rider so I have this for those dangerous places and when I have to mow the grass in the flower bed w/o harming the flowers. the batteries are good, it works as they advertise it, worth the money and it is not that expensive to be so good. The best I have seen or had.
Question:	Is this considered light weight

Question:	this here is longer then the Wg160 right
Answer:	I'm not familiar with the WG160. What I can tell you is I can shorten the shaft to be used at maybe 3' long and it has been lengthened to be used by a 6'6" man who tired it. The adaptability for anyone is why I bought it. Adjust the angles, adjust the length, adjust the handle to ease for me to move it in different directions. For those adjustments - it is awesome.
Question:	What is difference between 170 and
Answer:	The Trimmers are the same. The difference is the batteries. The 170 comes with two 20 volt 2.0 Ah batteries. The 170.1 comes with two 4.0 Ah batteries, which are suppose to give you more power and run time. That's why the 170.1 is more expensive.

Question:	I have a small patch of lawn, about 2 feet by 10 feet. Can I use this to cut it? It is pretty dense crab grass and weeds
Answer:	I would think it should unless its just a jungle. Go at it in small patches. It has easily done everything I have asked it to do. I am quite satisfied.
Question:	Can I use my other black and decker 20V batteries? (type 3, 30Wh) without damaging the motor
Answer:	Yes, our 20V batteries and chargers are interchangeable within our 20V product line.
Question:	This trimmer has the choice of batteries but the 3.0Ah is actually less $$, which I would think is the longer lasting one
Answer:	That is accurate. Higher Amp hours the more capacity of the battery. With the 3 Ah you get one battery. With the 1.5 Ah you get two batteries. Should equal out to the same amount of run time. Only difference is the 3.0 Ah battery is physically larger and heavier than the 1.5. So if you have a bad shoulder or older you might opt for the two 1.5 batteries and just swap them when the first goes dead. If you're not having issues with the weight, go with the 3ah single battery.
Question:	anyone have experience with the 3.0 vs the 1.5Ah batteries? does the 3.0 literally last twice as long? trying to figure out best deal
Answer:	Yes, theoretically a battery with double the amp/hour capacity CAN last twice as long with a whole bucketload of IFS! IF the ‘Speed’ adjustment is EXACTLY the same; IF the thickness of the weeds/grass is exactly the same; IF the ‘duty cycle (on time vs off time) is exactly the same, etc, etc. From a practical standpoint suffice to say that battery life between charges WILL be noticeably longer BUT, when using the same charger, recharge time MAY also be noticeably longer. Im sure that, by now, you’ve noticed all the “IFS and “MAYS” in my short reply. This only goes to illustrate the very large number of variables involved in reliably estimating battery time between charges.

Answer:	The 10 Amp is certainly the more powerful of the two. The 4 Amp is quite adequate for normal household use.
Question:	I am female senior, had to take over yard duties, do I have to assemble this when it arrives
Answer:	Yes you can. Winding the sting is not a problem. Putting the spool back into the trimmer is not as easy as your B&D.
Question:	Which pe-wound replacement spool does it use? i don't find any listed for b & d st8600 -- thanks
Answer:	Don't know exactly (can't get at it to measure right now) but the handle can be extended so it is a comfortable distance so a medium height person can hold it so the bottom (guard and cutting lines) reaches the ground. I would estimate 36 to maybe 44 inches.
Question:	Can you replace the trimmer line with a different line? Instead of buying pre-made spools of trimmer line already wound up
Answer:	It is a dual line and you can get replacements by searching for PA66-G30 which is in the spool. Just bought an extra 6 pack on amazon for 9.99.
