Answer:	We bought this product for the exact same reason. It does help with the static but we always re-treat the deck once the static starts building up again. We apply to the deck with a power washer, "swab" the deck and then let it air dry. I also treat the deck furniture (also composite) and doors/doorknobs too/from the deck with it. We do not have metal railing but one of the doors to/from our deck has metal and treating the deck does make a difference - not perfect but better.
