Answer:	On a Nikon, the sensor is 24mm across, 1/3 smaller than 35mm film (36mm across). When you capture only the middle 2/3 of the image generated for 36mm film or sensors, the effect in the same sized print appears to be a 50% enlargement, or magnification factor of 1.5X. So, people say... 15mm has a DX equivalent of 22.5mm. 30mm times 1.5 would look like 45mm. This applies only to crop factor. i.e. 15mm on a DX camera would not render the same image as 22.5mm with this lens on a "full frame", but the subject included left to right would be the same width. The picture would still differ the way wider-to-narrower images always do. Sorry. Maybe too detailed, but I have trouble saying "equivalent" when it is not fully accurate.

Answer:	It can be used on both. However if using on a crop sensor camera it will effectively be a 22.5-45mm assuming a 1.5 crop factor. If you are a Nikon shooter they have wide angel lens designed for crop sensor bodies I think it is a 10-24mm. It is a great lens regardless and I tend to shoot around 24mm for landscapes so doesn't really matter on crop or full frame.
