Answer:	I'm guessing what you mean by mark is how deep will it detect. There are many factors involved in how well a detector performs, i.e. The ground mineralization in the area you are detecting, Electrical interference (EMI), How well you know howto use the detector and how to optimize it for what you are searching for. For example, in my area, I can detect a dime at about 8 to 10 inches fairly accurately (small non-ferrous target), an aluminum can or large iron target, you could detect that at a foot or more. As with most high performance detectors, expect a good 3 to 6 months learning the machine. Online videos and detector forums are a great source for learning and setting up your detector for the type of searching you want to do. Your question doesn't have a simple answer, it depends on your detecting area and how well you know how to use the detector. Not all detectors are created equally. With that said, this is a top of the line detector by this manufacturer, it will find things that other detectors won't and there are other detectors that will find things that this one won't.

Size of target, metal conductivity, mineralization of the soil, and coil size. On this particular detector for example, a soda can could be detected at approx. 12 to15 inches or a coin size target 6 to 8 inches.

Question:	Roughly, how deep can this penetrate through rock
Answer:	Mineralization of soil/rock and size of the nugget are what determines depth. The Fisher Gold Bug 2 is the most sensitive detector made to the smallest gold nuggets able to find them sizes smaller than a pepper seed but only a few inches at best. A nugget the size of a quarter probably closer to a foot depending on soil conditions and skill of the operator. A nugget the size of your fist much deeper.
