Answer:	I haven't had any problems with the straw but the bottle itself is not durable. Dents easily when dropped on any surface. And it doesn't keep drinks cold at all. In my opinion this bottle isn't worth the money.

Answer:	There is no need to bite down to open a valve on this straw, just suck on it like a regular straw. If the top is screwed on properly, it does not leak upside down or on its side. It really is great. The only time we had spillage was when I used a Nuun electrolyte tab in my bottle and the pressure built up. When I flipped open the spout, water came up and out. My error, not the bottle's.
