| Answer: | I have both, and I see no difference in power. Certainly more voltage should mean more powerful cutting, but only if the motor is also upgraded to a more powerful one. I suspect that wasn't done. - I've noticed the same thing with the Black & Decker sweeper/blower. I have both the 18 V and the 40 V sweeper/ blower, and the 18 V is noticeably more powerful than the 40 V. The only instance with these Black & Decker tools where I have noticed that the 40 V is more powerful than the 18 V, is the string trimmer. The 40 V string trimmer is MUCH more powerful than the 18 V. |

| Answer: | The best way to sharpen hedge trimmers and other like equipment is with a Dremel tool with their 453 5/32 grinding tool. You really don't need to do any disassembly but you do need to be able to move the blade from the closed to open position. Just grind each face of the cutting surface. These stones are great on bandsaws, too. My saw has a 144" blade on it and I can sharpen all the teeth in about fifteen minutes. Use these stones on hand held clippers and lawn shears, too. |
