Answer:	I have both, and I see no difference in power. Certainly more voltage should mean more powerful cutting, but only if the motor is also upgraded to a more powerful one. I suspect that wasn't done. - I've noticed the same thing with the Black & Decker sweeper/blower. I have both the 18 V and the 40 V sweeper/ blower, and the 18 V is noticeably more powerful than the 40 V. The only instance with these Black & Decker tools where I have noticed that the 40 V is more powerful than the 18 V, is the string trimmer. The 40 V string trimmer is MUCH more powerful than the 18 V.

Answer:	The best way to sharpen hedge trimmers and other like equipment is with a Dremel tool with their 453 5/32 grinding tool. You really don't need to do any disassembly but you do need to be able to move the blade from the closed to open position. Just grind each face of the cutting surface. These stones are great on bandsaws, too. My saw has a 144" blade on it and I can sharpen all the teeth in about fifteen minutes. Use these stones on hand held clippers and lawn shears, too.

Answer:	As @cbro says, the flashing red light means that the battery needs to cool down before charging. All of the "bad battery" comments had me scared, but I waited 20 minutes and felt that the battery was no longer warm and when I put the battery back on the charger, it started blinking green again and charging normally. Thank you to the one person with patience who gave me hope and a good outcome. By the way, this is probably my 6th time using the charger and I have never had this problem, but I did use it longer this time and it was 90 degrees outside.

Answer:	YES, IT DOES. It's very simple. You press the button on top of the trimmer. Once you press the hand grip and the top button simultaneously, you NO LONGER have to hold down the top button with with your thumb. Once you release the hand grip, you must depress the top button again. This is a SAFETY measure, so the trimmer doesn't run without a contribution from the operator.

Answer:	Lithium batteries can hold a charge longer than a year. I have done it several times and the batteries do not run down. I have multiple tools that use the B&D 20V batteries and have used them for about three years.

Question:	How hard is it to assemble
Answer:	It’s not hard at all. The only two things to assemble are the front guard and the handle that goes right behind it. The guard snaps in place, and the handle you snap in place and secure with the 2 screws that are supplied with the trimmer. The handle will only fit on the trimmer one way as the two ends will only match with the unit in one direction. The same is true with the guard.

Answer:	You must be using B&Dbranded wimp batteries and the cheap charger that comes with the standard units. There are much better third party batteries for the B&D products on Amazon, plus the B&D supercharger is well worth the extra price. The supercharger will charge the third party batteries in about an hour, and you can charge a second battery while you are using the first. That said, I rarely use up the first battery even when I switch it from a task like string trimming to using the blower for clean-up. Admittedly, though, that is because I am a female senior, and my own battery runs out after about an hour--requiring a long rest-stop.

Answer:	It is close to 10 pounds and worst of all, very unbalanced with most of the weight towards the front, where the motor and blade are. Since it does not have a mid tube "handle" like other long reach and pole trimmers do gas and electric, it is very difficult and tiresome to balance. I returned mine and instead bought a 40 volt Ryoby, which can use several attachments, such as string trimmer, edger, pole chain saw and the pole hedge trimmer I needed. Oh, and besides, for some reason they are shipping them with an underpowered, super slow. meager battery charger instead of the faster charger and when I tested mine it actually took over 7 hours to charge the 20 volt battery, whereas my Ryobi 40 volt charges in less than 90 minutes from a full discharge. Turn the unit upside and down in one hand and push the blade cover gently by the other hand. then slide the blade cover like the photo.

SECOND STEP TO CHANGE BLADES

Remove the blade gently by lifting the end tip of the blade off of the grass shear +hedge trimmer unit.

THIRD STEP TO CHANGE BLADES

Align the gear shaft in the middle of the blade with the gear in the middle of the unit. So that the blade lays flat against the housing for a secure fit.
