2 best lightweight chainsaws
Lightweight chainsaws are a type of outdoor power tool designed for cutting through wood and other materials. These chainsaws are specifically engineered to be easy to handle, making them suitable for a variety of tasks, such as pruning trees, cutting firewood, and performing general maintenance around your yard or garden. Here are some key points about lightweight chainsaws:
Portability: Lightweight chainsaws are designed to be compact and easy to carry, allowing users to move them around with minimal effort. This portability makes them ideal for jobs that require mobility.
Engine Types: Lightweight chainsaws can be powered by different types of engines, including gas-powered, electric, and battery-powered (cordless). Gas-powered chainsaws offer more power but can be heavier, while electric and battery-powered models are lighter and more environmentally friendly.
Bar Length: The bar length of a chainsaw determines the maximum diameter of wood it can cut. Lightweight chainsaws typically have shorter bar lengths, which makes them suitable for smaller cutting tasks. Common bar lengths for lightweight models range from 10 to 16 inches.
Safety Features: Many lightweight chainsaws are equipped with safety features such as chain brakes, handguards, and anti-kickback mechanisms to help prevent accidents and injuries during operation.
Ease of Use: Lightweight chainsaws are designed to be user-friendly, with features like ergonomic handles and easy-start systems to reduce user fatigue and make operation more comfortable.
Maintenance: Like all chainsaws, lightweight models require regular maintenance, including chain sharpening and oiling, to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Noise and Emissions: Electric and battery-powered lightweight chainsaws are generally quieter and produce fewer emissions compared to gas-powered models, making them more environmentally friendly and suitable for use in residential areas.
When choosing a lightweight chainsaw, consider the type of cutting tasks you need to perform, the power source that suits your needs, and the overall build quality of the tool. Additionally, always prioritize safety by wearing appropriate protective gear, such as gloves, goggles, and hearing protection, when operating any chainsaw.

User questions & answers
Question: | does this model use a lot of oil |
Answer: | The model number 20262 will come with a smaller reservoir than most standard 12" chain saws. Be sure to always check the oil before and after each usage. |
Question: | Is the blade detachable |
Answer: | Hello, Yes, the bar/chain can be removed from this tool. |
Question: | How long does the battery last when in use ? Please say whether you are using the 2ah or 4ah battery. Thanks |
Answer: | 12" 40v 2ah. I spent 3 days cutting down and cutting up a 25-foot flowering pear tree. Cut all the limbs off the first day ( about 60 limbs ) on one battery. Put the battery on the charger overnight and then cut down the 14" trunk and cut it into small enough pieces to throw in the truck on one battery. The next day I cut up all the limbs into bite-size pieces to put into the fire pit, on one battery. I would say they last long enough to do almost anything around the house. So unless you're a lumberjack I would say this is plenty for small to medium size jobs. |
Question: | will this product use other GreenWorks 40V batteries |
Answer: | Not all Greenworks Batteries. Only the G-max batteries listed. For instance, the batteries listed with my Greenworks lawnmower is a 29302 for one of them and it is not listed as one that works. |
