Question:	what are the inside measurements of a shelf on the bookcases
Answer:	Yes, it is. All of the exposed parts (excepting the handles) are the same wood. It looks the same from all sides.

Answer:	It is a beautiful brown. It does not resemble black in any way. The photo, as displayed on my computer's monitor, looks just like the real table.
Question:	Are the bookshelves and firebox seperate units, or does it all hook together
Answer:	The top piece which is the lid comes already assembled. You need to attack the 4 sides to the bottoms, the legs and then the top to the back side. Very easy IF they send you the directions. Luckily I bought the coffee table as well and the assembly was exactly the same. Overall I love the product! Perfect height for my couch and lots of extra storage! Is give it four stars because of no directions and mine didn't have predrilled holes for the handle. My coffee table did though.

Answer:	First I should say I did not assemble mine myself. I had someone who is mechanically inclined do it for me. I own two of these type units and I found that the last one you were inquiring about was probably more straightforward of the two. The item comes shipped in two parts, the wooden frame and the electric heater. The individual pieces to be assembled are all numbered. The instructions have to be followed exactly to make things fit properly. It took the expert an hour to an hour and a half to assemble the unit. I would say if your son is not mechanically inclined that it's going to be a bit of an effort for him to assemble it. However if you follow the instructions exactly he should be able to accomplish it. Hope this helps.
