Question:	How hot will the bottom get? I’m worried about the wood deck I want to put it on
Answer:	The unit is made of steel and sets about 7-9 inches off the ground. The bottom will get naturally hotter because air can easily pass underneath the unit. I have not been worried about heat radiating below the unit since we placed ours on a 6-inch base of crushed rocks. The height of the flame can be limited if you keep the screen cover on. We do this most of the time. We also carefully monitor flying sparks since we live in a dry climate, experience blustery winds, and have a wooden fence about 10 feet away. Nonetheless, I believe the recommended installation would be to place a firepit on the bare ground, on crushed rock, or on a stone base and away from any combustible materials (including wooden decks). You might consider installing a rock platform on which your unit can rest. Hope this information helps.

Answer:	A common problem with some woodgas stoves is that the air holes in the burn chamber can get clogged with ash. One designed for wood pellets will have even smaller holes but this isn't a problem for pellets as they burn down to find ash that easily falls through. Logs may work for a bit of time but as they burn down their larger clumpier ash will clog the holes restricting air flow. You could use a poker to try to clear things. Even fire pits for logs can run into this problem so some have another set of holes drilled around the bottom a few centimeters up for some side air flow to address this issue.

Answer:	Depends on how much you burn but lasted about three hours in my pit but I only used two pieces at a time some lasted longer because of the different sizes of the wood .

Answer:	Yes the pieces are about 24 “ so should fit
Question:	So the outside diameter is 42”, but the actual fire pit is 34”. Correct? It’s a little misleading as advertised as a 42” fire pit

Answer:	I don’t think heat would be an issue. I would not trust it where it is exposed to wind. It is not very sturdy with the three legs.
