Answer:	I ordered a GOLDENROD 496-3/4 WATER-BLOCK FILTER (56591) Bowl Fuel Tank Filter with 3/4" NPT Top Cap to use with mine, along with an Apache 99000233 3/4" Fuel Swivel. I went down to the local hardware store and got a 6-inch, 3/4" galvanized threaded steel pipe. I used the 6-inch pipe to connect the fuel filter to the elbow fitting on top of the pump, then used the swivel to connect the hose to the fuel filter. So far, it's been working well.

Answer:	It is economical to run and if you place it at the correct depth, I'll guess it will provide the aeration you need. Since you did not mention the size of the pond (approx gallons or dimensions) and you also did not say if you have fish or not it is difficult to say if it will provide the oxygen that the critters may require. Providing water movement will deter mosquitoes from breeding there and will keep the water oxygenated more than not. My pond, with six pumps, is 18,000 gallons with two waterfalls and a stream. the water is always clear and clean.

L x W x 0.25 x 7.48= Water in transit (WIT) L represents the length of the waterfall and streamway; W is the width of the waterfall and streamway; 0.25 is the depth of the streamway in ft.; 7.48 is the number of gallons that 1 cubic foot can hold. This average does not account for pooling areas. Pooling areas do not flow through the system the same as WIT. The volume of pooling areas should be measured separately and factored into basin volume as a “one-time fill”.

Example (refer to illustration above): 5' in Length (1' + 2' + 6" + 1' + 6") x 2' in Width x 0.25' Average Depth x 7.48 Gallons / ft.³ = 18.7 Gallons (WIT)

Calculating Your Basin Size

Your basin should be sized in relation to the amount of water in transit. To keep the pump from running dry and to compensate for the water lost due to evaporation, the basin will need to hold 1.5 times the water you have in transit. Using the formulas provided will ensure that your Basin Total ft.³ either equals or exceeds Minimum Required Basin Total cuft.

WIT x 1.5 = Total Minimum Gallons of Water Required in Basin

Total Minimum Gallons of Water Required in Basin x 7.48 Gallons per ft.³ = Minimum Required Basin Total cuft.

Length of Basin x Width of Basin x Depth of Basin = Basin Total cuft.

We recommend using 2.5 times the WIT in the formulas above and to use MatrixBlox to account for any and all variables. MatrixBlox will be used to build the basin area and will be included in the majority in our kits. Each block will hold 31.5 gallons. Take 2.5 times your water in transit and dividing it by 31.5 will tell you how many blocks to use in your basin. While other options are available to use when building the water containment, we recommend using the MatrixBlox.

The pump works on battery, but it's not controlled by the switch. When you turn it off, LED/pump both turn off. But if you turn on the switch, LED/pump would NOT turn on immediately. It needs to charege for sometime as the battery voltage is low. Once charged, the voltage gets ok, it would work again.



Q: You can feel the vibration of the pump motor, but only a low pressure trickle of water comes out.

A: It may be clogged. There are four screws in the bottom corners then need to come out to check for filter clog.



Q: Only works in bright sunshine, battery backup does not function at night

A: The sunshine is not enough, let the solar panel charge in full sun for 8 hours

Answer:	I wouldn't use this is anything. I've had two. The first died after 3 months and the second lasted a week. If you want to try it anyway, you should know that it is a submersible pump, which means it goes in the water it's pumping. It is in a housing that is around 15 inches in diameter and maybe 8 inches tall. Unless you have a really huge aquarium, this thing will take up most of it. It's really designed for ponds and water features. I bought it for my 1200 gallon pond, but like I said, it didn't last very long.
Question:	Will this pump work installed upside down? My circulation pipe comes up from under the sand so the pump will have to be upside down
Answer:	No. And be aware that the pump is not that really strong. It bogs down easily/quickly when the mesh bag starts to clog

Answer:	Yes, it can be laid on its side as long as you don't cover the intake filter

Answer:	There is no mechanism to connect an in line filter to where the water goes into the unit. I put my pump inside a plastic box that has holes and is lined with mesh screen to keep leaves, etc. from getting trapped into the inlet. My old one lasted 15 plus years running 24/7 using this system
Question:	how does this kit compare with the 83001kit that uses aquablocks (vs aquabasin) and pump vault
Answer:	It has a grille type inlet that catches debris. No pump this small has any “filter” these are simple type of pumps. This pump works great for my usage on an outdoor fountain. Water speed and force is great. It lifts the water about 40 inches and creates a great flow. I highly recommend it but depends on what your needs are and what the pump is being used for.
Question:	How long before the product actually ships? I ordered weeks ago and there has been no update
Answer:	The pump will work upside down, as long as it is fully submerged. Use a filter to prevent sand from clogging it up.

Question:	I have a 4200gph pump with 2 discharge lines. I was thinking about using 2 of these spillways for a pondless waterfall. Will I run into problems
Answer:	I returned the unit because didn’t need, seemed to be overkill. I suspect you could cut a hole on the back side - I placed my pump inside one of the res-cubes. Pump gas been running non-stop for a year
