User questions & answers
Question: | Can the projection be turned off |
Answer: | Yes, you can turn off the projection light with the knob on the side of the unit. There is a slider knob for "on/off". Please contact us at 800-853-8883 or [email protected], if you should have any further questions or concerns. Thank you |
Question: | Is there a way to focus the projection mine is blurry on my ceiling |
Answer: | I’ve had no problem with the focus on my ceiling... and I don’t think it is adjustable. Maybe there is a protective film covering the projector. You may have to return it. |
Question: | Does it work in the mountains |
Answer: | Assuming the clock can receive the signal from the US atomic clock, it should work in the mountains. The clocks have a time-zone setting on them. |
Question: | Does this clock automatically change between standard time and daylight savings time? if not, how does the owner adjust it |
Answer: | it is supposed to, but we would have to take it to another part of the house to pick up the radio signal. We just change the time zone back and forth from mountain time to pacific time. Much easier than resetting the clock every six months! |

Housed in high-tech blue plastic, this alarm clock is far more sophisticated than its cute appearance may lead one to believe. Whether you check on the time by consulting the clock's LCD screen or by looking at a large red-light projection of the time beamed onto a wall or ceiling, you'll know it's accurate. That's because the clock is equipped with a radio receiver tuned to the U.S. Atomic Clock, and keeps time with split-second accuracy by automatically adjusting, if necessary, to the Atomic Clock's signals six times every 24 hours. From those signals, the 5-1/4-by-4-1/2-inch clock (2-1/2 inches thick) not only shows the precise time, but also displays the date and day, with automatic adjustment for daylight-saving time and leap year, according to the North American time zone for which the clock is set. (The day can be shown in English, Spanish, or French.)
The red-light projection makes it possible to check the time without squinting. If the clock is in battery mode (two AA batteries required but not included), pressing the clock's snooze bar will beam the time onto the ceiling for five seconds--and also backlight the LCD screen. If the clock is plugged into a wall socket with an AC adapter (included), the projection and backlighting will be available either for five seconds with the snooze bar or continuously if a continuous-beam control is set. As a backup, you can set the time, day, and date manually as well as automatically. --Fred Brack

User questions & answers
Question: | I've had this clock for a year now. The projection light will no longer stay permanently on - it used to. What's broken |
Answer: | I can only say that we have had about 5 different Oregon Scientific RM 313 PNA self setting projection clocks and after about 6 months the projection light goes out and we have to re order another one because we don't know what to do about it.we also need an answer |
Question: | once it rings, I can turn alarm off pushing alarm icon; but I can't deactivate the alarm pushing same icon. clock alarms at 5 a.m. every day. help |
Answer: | Pushing the alarm button once turns it off for the day. Pushing it twice turns the alarm off, period. (Look at the display & you can see the alarm is not set.) To set the alarm again, push the button. Look at the display, & the alarm will show as set. |
Question: | Can the projection light be repaired |
Answer: | I have no idea. I have had it several years and have never had a problem with it. My hunch is that it would cost more to repair it than to buy a new one, but that is just my quess. |
Question: | if the power goes off in the middle of the night will the alarm still go off in morning |
Answer: | Yes, presuming that the batteries are in and working. When the electrical power goes off, the ceiling projection light goes off but the clock, face illumination and alarm still work. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Many travel alarms fold into a clamshell to protect the clock face from scratching during travel. Does this clock, folded, cover the LCD display |
Answer: | No. You can see in the photo that the stand has an open area in the center. That opening leaves the digital display visible when the stand is in the closed position. The control buttons, however, ARE covered when the stand is flipped over the front. I suppose it could be considered unprotected in the closed position, but it is exactly what I needed for the application that prompted my purchase. It would be easy to slide a piece of thin protective cloth or other material between the stand and the face, if there is a concern about scratches during travel. |
Question: | Can you set the time manually i.e. over ride the atomic feature |
Answer: | Yes! In the normal mode, press and hold "CLOCK" key for 2 seconds until the time zone flashes. Press "UP" or "DOWN" key to set the desired time zone. Press "CLOCK" key again until the Year digit flashes and repeat the same operation that was used to change the time zone. Continue to press "CLOCK" until the calendar and time areas appear. Use the "UP" and "DOWN" until you reach the desired settings. Press and hold the "CLOCK" key for 2 seconds to save and exit the settings. You have manually set the clock. If you do not want to receive the radio signals that will automatic set the clock, there is a switch in the battery compartment on the right side that should be moved to the off position. |
Question: | How long will the battery last with the night light on all night |
Answer: | I've had mine for a few months and it's still working like it did on Day 1. |
Question: | Is the background color always yellow with black letters or do you have to push backlite button to get this color |
Answer: | You must push the backlight button to get the clock to look like like the picture. Normally it is gray background with black numbers. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How do you flip the time around on the projection |
Answer: | Not sure I understand the last part of the question but they are light enough to wear under a cycling helmet. They are made of light, solid stretch fabric, and not a mesh fabric like other brands. |
Question: | How many countries will this sync with |
Answer: | I use a c-pap and bought these skull caps specifically to wear while sleeping. My c-pap gear mats my hair in a weird pattern so I wanted something to prevent that and this skull cap works for this purpose. Also, like you said, it helps to keep the c-pap straps from slipping. One thing to consider is that these are pretty big. I fold up the skull cap a bit on the back of my head, otherwise I'd have to wear it over my ears. It's not a problem for me though. |

Question: | Does it show seconds on the screen and does it project seconds |
Answer: | It does show seconds on the screen, but does not project them. |
Question: | how do you flip so the date is showing correctly on the ceiling |
Answer: | We show only the time of day on the ceiling. The time also shows AM or PM. We have elected to not attempt showing the date. |
Question: | How big is it |
Answer: | Hi John I can guestimate ...it's about 4" in height and about 5" width and2" deep. I recommend it |
Question: | Is the projection angle adjustable? In other words, if the clock is on the nightstand, can I set it to project the time above the middle of the bed |
Answer: | I'm able to angle it. But, when you get it too far away from you (like across the room), it distorts the numbers. I like it on my night stand because it gives a nice, crisp reading. And, I don't have to move my head much to see it. |

Wake up to your weather. Accurate atomic time & date featuring projection onto your ceiling or wall with arm rotation and automatic focus. View your outdoor temperature and/or alternating time along with alarm features and display of indoor temperature (F/C). Has LCD backlight and includes ac adapter and wireless outdoor temperature sensor that transmits within 300 ft. First, use name-brand alkaline batteries dated at least 7 years in advance. Test the battery voltage to ensure it is at least 1.48 on a voltmeter that reads in numbers Second, Outdoor Temperature Shows Dashes and not syncing A: Dashes means you have lost connection between the display and the outdoor sensor. Batteries are the most common problem. A: Check channels. You may be reading your sensor on a different channel. A: Please confirm that the frequency on the sensor and the frequency on the display are the same. This display is sold with a 433MHz version A: Distance/Resistance can cause loss of sensor signal. Avoid having more than 1 wall, window, tree etc., between the display and the sensor. UV coated windows may actually reflect the signal. Stucco walls will absorb the signal. A: You may find it helpful to orient the Display 90 degrees towards the Thermo sensor for better reception. A: Try repositioning your sensor or your display for better reception. A: Complete a restart for display with the temperature sensor: • RESTART DISTANCE: For best results please bring the outdoor sensor in the house and place 5 feet from the display unit. • REMOVE POWER: Remove batteries from the sensor and batteries (and/or a/c cord) from the display. • DISCHARGEELECTRICITY: With the power removed, press one of the buttons on the display at least 20 times to clear all memory. Please do this even if the display is blank to remove any random electricity. Verify the display is blank. • UNPOWERED FOR 15 MINUTES: It is important with most of our displays to remain without power for at least 15 minutes. • NOTE: Failure to allow a display to rest for 15 minutes can result in failure to connect with the outdoor sensor or missing segment on the display. The instruction manual describes a setup for a new unit that has not had time to build up residual electricity. • BATTERIES: Please be sure you are using fresh batteries testing to a minimum of1.48, on a voltmeter that reads in numbers. • SENSOR FIRST: Place batteries into the outdoor sensor first. Make sure they are installed according to the diagrams in the battery compartment. • DISPLAY NEXT: Install batteries (or a/c cord) into the display according to the diagram in the battery compartment. CONNECTION: Allow the sensor and display to remain 5 feet apart for 15 minutes to establish a strong connection. Do not press buttons at this time. You should see a reading on the outdoor temperature area in the first minute. Transmission range: Up to 200 Feet. Sensor: 2.5 L x 1.42 W x 3.98 H Inches

User questions & answers
Question: | How do you get the time to display on the wall? When i replugged it in, the display only portrays onto wall a few minutes after pressing/holding alarm |
Answer: | Absolutely. I've washed mine several times as I have pets (shedding). Also, because they are so lightweight, they tend to loosen up around the brim after a good stint of wearing and washing brings them back to the normal snug fit. I'm actually planning to buy a few more, a couple in different colors and then a couple more black ones so that when one is being washed, I will have a 'fresh' black one to wear as that is my go-to color. |
Question: | Outdoor temp does not work. changed batteries . do I need a new unit or a new weather station |
Answer: | It would depend on the type and strength of the hat clip. The material of the beanie is quite thin so an alligator clip might damage the beanie, especially if it gets moved around a lot. |
Question: | How do you fix when numbers are backwards |
Answer: | yes |

This is displayed in the bottom right corner of the wind area on the display. Question: | when will the lightning sensor be fixed? It shows 100's of lightning strikes when it sunny and clear, and I am using Alkaline batteries |
Answer: | There is a wire routing issue in some early units that causes the asperating fan to activate the lightning sensor. I had to send mine in for it. It sucks to send it in, but they paid shipping and the fix is covered under warranty. |
