Initial Operation:

1. Open Weather Station battery compartment cover.

2. Insert 2 x AA batteries observing polarity [ “+” and “ –“ marks].

3. When you insert the batteries, all the icon on the LCD display will briefly light up for 3 seconds, and you will hear a beep tone, and detect indoor temperature & humidity.

4. The Weather Station will now start to make a connection to the outdoor remote sensor. This operation takes about 3 minutes and is displayed by a flashing reception RF antenna symbol in the “OUTDOOR” display area on the receiver.

5. This now, replace Wireless Outdoor Sensor battery compartment cover ,Open Weather Station battery compartment cover ,Insert 2 x AA batteries observing polarity [ “+” and “–“ marks].



Display Temperature/Humidity/ Barometric Pressure and Temperature/Humidity Trend:

The current indoor temperature/humidity/barometric pressure and the temperature/humidity trend (indoors) are shown in the LCD display.

After successfully connecting with the outdoor sensor, the weather station can display the outdoortemperature/humidity and the temperature/humidity trend (outdoor).

You may see the following displays:

The temperature/humidity is rising.

The temperature/humidity is remaining constant.

The temperature/humidity is falling.



RF Transmission Procedure:

The weather station automatically starts receiving transmission from outdoor thermo sensor for outdoor temperature& humidity after batteries inserted.

The outdoor sensor will automatically transmit temperature and humidity signal to the Weather Station after batteries inserted.

If Weather Station failed to receive transmission from outdoor sensor (“- -”display on the LCD), press and hold “▼”button for 3 seconds to receive transmission manually. RF icon “ ” flashes on the LCD，The Weather Station to receive the outdoor sensor.

Question:	Will the system work on a local home network only? Without a connection to the web/cloud. If my internet goes out,can I still see data while at home
Answer:	Yes! Once it's set up, your Smart Weather Station transmits weather data over Bluetooth and across your local WiFi network. That means (as long as your Hub has power) you can still see data from your station through the app if your Internet connection goes down. If power to the Hub is lost, the AIR & SKY devices will continue to collect and store data, sending it along once power is restored.
Question:	When the batteries powered by the solar panel need to be replaced is it easy to do or does it require replacement by the company
Answer:	It’s easy, just twist the case and the battery case is exposed. The instructions said if you use solar attachment...don’t need batteries
Question:	What is the recommended pole height
Answer:	If you are able to mount the SKY above nearby objects you will get a better wind fetch. However, it's important to keep the mount and mast sturdy, free from vibrations as any motion will be detected as rain by the haptic sensor which can become pronounced in strong winds on unstable mounts.
Question:	Does this unit come with the solar panel as shown in the photo? And, with the solar panel, will the batteries last longer than 1 year
Answer:	Yes the station kit includes a solar panel accessory! The solar panel's rechargeable battery should last approximately 5 years. On a full charge, the battery in the solar panel will provide power to the SKY unit for about 30 days in full overcast conditions. AA batteries are not supposed to be used in tandem with the solar panel accessory. SKY can use 8 AA batteries or the solar panel accessory. The AIR unit requires 4 AA batteries.

Answer:	The weather station gathers outside temperature and humidity for real time viewing and retrieval from archive -- both accessible by means of the internet-based app. Not sure if that answers your question -- it sounds like you would like a local mode free of the "cloud" connection.
Question:	is this compatible with La Crosse Model C
Answer:	If that's your main need, you might consider the Nest thermostat. It installs very easily, and from your phone or computer, anywhere, you can monitor your indoor temperature, and the turn on the air or heat, and put them on a schedule if you want, or of course, set it for minimums and maximums. It's very well designed and simple, for around $200, I believe.
Question:	will this work with the c87030 model
Answer:	The inside unit is powered over USB using a 110 AC adapter. The outside unit uses AAA batteries. I've had both units running over 45 days w/o any issues. The outside unit still shows 100% battery life. I'm very satisfied with both units.

Question:	Can i use 2 separate display consoles with the ambient weather ws-2902? i'd like to see readings in 2 different areas of the house
Answer:	I have two display consoles and it works great. One upstairs and one on ground floor. I can see both on-line and on phone via app. I set alerts in case HVAC issues, which is great benefit as well. I ordered WS-2902A-CONSOLE-KIT which is what you need.
Question:	Can it only be line of sight
Answer:	Wireless devices transmit a radio frequency (RF) signal, generally in the 400 – 900 MHz range. The manufacturer will rate the maximum transmission distance as line of sight. However, the signal will transmit through walls and other obstructions. The following is a table of reception loss vs. the transmission medium. Each “wall” or obstruction decreases the transmission range by the factor shown below. Medium RF Signal Strength Reduction Glass (untreated) 5-15% Plastics 10-15% Wood 10-40% Brick 10-40% Concrete 40-80% Metal 90-100% RF will not transmit through metal barriers. If you have aluminum siding or a metal roof, it is unlikely the RF signal will transmit through this barrier. RF will not transmit through earth. For example, if the receiver is placed in the basement, and the earth or ground is obstructing the line of sight transmission, it will not receive the signal. Interference can be an issue. In general, wireless internet, phones, security systems and other low power devices have little interference effect. Ham Radio and other high power applications may lose data when transmitting. Helpful Hint: Wireless phones transmit at similar frequencies and power levels as wireless weather devices. If you have a wireless phone (not a cell phone), place the receiver where you would place the weather station receiver and attempt to use the phone where you would place the transmitter. If you can not use the wireless phone, it is unlikely the weather station will work either.
Question:	Is the outdoor sensor "hi quality"? I have had 2 Acurite outdoor sensors electronics fail in a 1 Yr. I am a full time Rv'r / camp in any weather
Answer:	My Accuwrong failed in the 13th month and support from Accurite was horrible at best. I had an Amibeint for over 10 years but the ws 2902 is not working, they sent me 3 replacement units all with the same issue, NOT TRANSMITTING.
Question:	What differentiates this from higher priced options like the ws-1002-wifi? Software connectivity doesn't matter to me. Are the sensors lower quality
Answer:	No, they are of equal quality. The console on the WS-1002-WiFi is much nicer with multiple screens and TFT display. This is LCD with color film. The WS-2902 is a very capable unit.
