Question:	Do i have to set the time manually or can it get its atomic time from fort collins, i do not see this model on acurite's website which concerns me
Answer:	I manually set mine. I did not see anywhere in the instructions where it says otherwise or if it can get the Atomic time. The only sensor it has on it is the wireless sensor to work with the outdoor portion of the kit so I'm pretty sure you can only manually adjust it. It was smart enough to adjust for daylight savings a couple weeks ago, but that's the only automatic part of the clock portion that I know of.
Question:	So the only way you see the data remotely with an iphone/ipad is if it's hooked up to a computer
Answer:	Yes, otherwise it just displays it on the Weather Station Display. If it is hooked up to the PC, the software is loaded that comes with it and you have an internet connection you will be able to view it anywhere you can access a PC that is also connected to the internet or a smart phone that also has internet capability.
Question:	Does this station need to be mounted on a pole, or can it be mounted right onto a flat surface
Answer:	The bracket for the 5 in 1 sensor has the short pole type top for the sensor to mount to and the base of the bracket can mount on top or on the side of a post. I screwed mine down to the top of my pasture fence post. Hope this helps.
Question:	Can I use this with out a pc and will is save data like year to date rainfall
Answer:	The display will save some data then you have to download it to a computer. Or you can get the Internet bridge which uploads to a free Acurite account and link it to Weather Underground as a personal weather station. That is what I did, no computer required other than setting up your account and you can view the data from a smartphone app.

Answer:	I didn't see your question until just now and I believe you have enough to go on based on the answers you already have. However, my guess is that, yes, you could order a second receiver and it would pick up the signal the same as the first one. However, it wasn't clear if you could order just a receiver from the Acu-Rite website. Suggest you contact them. The phone number on their web was (877) 221-1252 for support or there is a place on the web for you to do it via email.

Answer:	I have had mine for 5 years. It has worked well. it takes two batteries (AA) in the display and two (AA) in the sensor. Its hard to believe that some people have reported this incorrectly.

Answer:	I read all of the different reviews, but decided to buy it for my mom. It never worked out of the box! Never came on. All suggestions were tried (take out both sets of batteries, then place units side by side, place batteries in outdoor sensor first, then display unit, allow units to sit side by side until they connect....NEVER connected, display unit never came on. I called the company and was told I was call 22 and it would be umpteen minutes, would I like a call back. Left a message and never received a call. I'm returning this product today and will look for a different brand. VERY frustrating!

Answer:	I use this in a gun safe at about 70 deg. But I tested it from about +30 to about +100 degrees and it was right on. Maybe someone can help more.
Question:	Celsius & Fahrenheit
Answer:	Celsius is from 0 degrees (temp of ice) to 100 degrees (temp of boiling water) and so goes on higher. This scale is normally used in science experiments and in many countries as the ambient temperature. Fahrenheit 32 degrees (temperature of ice) and 212 degrees (temp of boiling water). Normally use for ambient temp in the US and sometimes in scientific work. For house temp, use Fahrenheit.
Question:	Accuracy
Answer:	I checked both temp and humidity (against another unit I trust) when I installed it along with a golden rod heater and a few silica packs. It was dead on for temp and a hair off on humidity. A couple months later I checked again and it was again right on for temp and humidity.

Answer:	To turn the alarm ON or OFF, press the ALM button to enter alarm mode, press the ALM button again to ON or OFF the alarm. The “🔔 ”symbol should show next to the clock display when alarm is set to ON. Press the ALM button again to turn off the alarm, when the alarm is set to OFF, the “ 🔔” symbol should not display.
Question:	Can you see the display when operated with battery
Answer:	Yes you can see the display with battery power, you just have to push the button on top of the unit to make it "light up". The backlight only stays on for about 15 to 20 seconds then goes off to conserve battery power, but even when it's off you can still see the information on the display. Question:	Can i use 2 separate display consoles with the ambient weather ws-2902? i'd like to see readings in 2 different areas of the house
Answer:	I have two display consoles and it works great. One upstairs and one on ground floor. I can see both on-line and on phone via app. I set alerts in case HVAC issues, which is great benefit as well. I ordered WS-2902A-CONSOLE-KIT which is what you need.
Question:	Can it only be line of sight
Answer:	Wireless devices transmit a radio frequency (RF) signal, generally in the 400 – 900 MHz range. The manufacturer will rate the maximum transmission distance as line of sight. However, the signal will transmit through walls and other obstructions. The following is a table of reception loss vs. the transmission medium. Each “wall” or obstruction decreases the transmission range by the factor shown below. Medium RF Signal Strength Reduction Glass (untreated) 5-15% Plastics 10-15% Wood 10-40% Brick 10-40% Concrete 40-80% Metal 90-100% RF will not transmit through metal barriers. If you have aluminum siding or a metal roof, it is unlikely the RF signal will transmit through this barrier. RF will not transmit through earth. For example, if the receiver is placed in the basement, and the earth or ground is obstructing the line of sight transmission, it will not receive the signal. Interference can be an issue. In general, wireless internet, phones, security systems and other low power devices have little interference effect. Ham Radio and other high power applications may lose data when transmitting. Helpful Hint: Wireless phones transmit at similar frequencies and power levels as wireless weather devices. If you have a wireless phone (not a cell phone), place the receiver where you would place the weather station receiver and attempt to use the phone where you would place the transmitter. If you can not use the wireless phone, it is unlikely the weather station will work either.
Question:	Is the outdoor sensor "hi quality"? I have had 2 Acurite outdoor sensors electronics fail in a 1 Yr. I am a full time Rv'r / camp in any weather
Answer:	My Accuwrong failed in the 13th month and support from Accurite was horrible at best. I had an Amibeint for over 10 years but the ws 2902 is not working, they sent me 3 replacement units all with the same issue, NOT TRANSMITTING.
Question:	What differentiates this from higher priced options like the ws-1002-wifi? Software connectivity doesn't matter to me. Are the sensors lower quality
Answer:	No, they are of equal quality. The console on the WS-1002-WiFi is much nicer with multiple screens and TFT display. This is LCD with color film. The WS-2902 is a very capable unit.

Answer:	Check that your batteries are charged to 1.5. If you don't have a way (voltage meter) to check, try brand new batteries that are new off the store shelf. For the sync-up process, the batteries must be 1.5 or better. It's the #1 problem we see.
Question:	Hello. . . i love this weather station but the aa batteries in my remote die very quickly. what batteries work bet for you
Answer:	All outdoor sensors should use Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries. Alkalines will freeze, rechargables start at a max of 1.4 v and drop to 1.2 v fairly quickly and do not like extreme cold. They do not work in Iowa winter. All my external sensors use AA Ultimate Lithiums and last the entire winter, even at -15 below zero F. I change them out every Fall.

Answer:	If I may say, you might want to reconsider a product from LaCrosse. I have had an s85814 weather station for about 3 years and it currently serves as the night light in my bedroom. It never worked and LaCrosse wasn't much help. The temperature outside was always off by close to 20 degrees. Don't do it, you'll regret it!

It also includes an Indoor comfort range: Too DRY (1-25%), DRY (26-39%), Comfort OK (40-75%), Wet (76-83%), Too Wet (84-99%), and a 300 foot wireless transmission range. The 308-1414B has a humidity range: 19% to 97% RH, and a 200 foot wireless transmission range.

Troubleshooting Tips!

Dashes for Outdoor temp

1) Hold HEAT/DEW button for 3 seconds to search for outdoor sensor. Reception icon will flash while searching/solid when received signal.

2) Weak battery power - check low battery indicator on station. You may change batteries in your sensor, then immediately hold HEAT/DEW to search for signal again!

Weak/Low Power

Low battery next to Indoor Temp = weather station back up batteries are weak/low

1. Continue using power cord, and remove old batteries.
2. Recommend using Brand Name, Standard Alkaline batteries (Exp Date should be 7 years ahead of current year)
3. No action required after

Factory Restart: Remove Residual electrical current

1. DISCONNECT: Remove all power (batteries and AC power cord) from weather station and sensor (bring near station)
2. Press one of the buttons on the weather station at least 20 times to clear all memory
3. Leave both units without power for 15 minutes

Reinstall with Fresh, New Batteries

1. Insert fresh batteries into the outdoor sensor.
2. Insert the AC power cord into the wall outlet then into the weather station.

The console receives wireless wind speed, direction, rainfall, temperature, humidity, UV and Solar Radiation from the outdoor sensor array. It can also receive barometric pressure, humidity and temperature from the optional indoor sensor (sold separately). The wireless sensor array connects to the console via RF (915 MHz) up to 330 feet line of sight in open air (100 feet under most conditions). The wireless signal will not pass through solid metal, earth, or ground. The sensor array's primary power source is a solar panel which charges the super capacitor, with optional battery backup (batteries not included).



The sensor array mounts to any pole between 1 and 2" diameter with adaptive mounting bracket and U-Bolt design that can be tightened to your mounting pole (not included).

Question:	the model numbering confuses me: this 2000 model seems to have more features, better screen than the 2902A that Amazon also has? any other differences
Answer:	The only external antenna terminals are for AM. You say "dipole", so it sounds like you want to listen to FM. On the other hand, even though the FM antenna is only 22.5 inches long when fully extended, the review here indicates that it works better than the longer antennas of other portable radios (ref. - https://radiojayallen.com/c-crane-cc-3-cc-2e/). All that said, I would rather not take a chance and, instead, get a radio with the same 5 star FM rating (on RadioJayAllen) that has an external FM antenna connection. You can check out the others, but I do own the Sangean HDR-18 and it is a great radio for distant reception on AM and FM. But, it only has one speaker. If you want stereo, you would connect to the REC OUT jack and run it into amplified stereo speakers.
Question:	If a portion of the Osprey goes bad, can it be replaced, or do I have to buy the whole thing? For example, the rain gauge goes out

Answer:	People buy 5 or 6 hundred dollar phones and spend a hundred or more on service - that isn't 'free.' I have a dumb phone so my listening is via radio. Nothing will replace an over the air radio in my mind so the one time cost is not a big deal for years and years of listening.
