Answer:	the detail information says it's set by "intelli-time". That is NOT the atomic clock in Colorado, so NO, it's not an atomic clock setting.
Question:	Does this device require internet access? Does it pull in data from a weather service
Answer:	Does not require internat nor receive info from weather service. You hang a wireless sensor outside, this sensor communicates with the unit inside and give you pretty accurate info. Future weather is calculated internally using barometric pressure readings, not really reliable but useful if you lose all other sources, like in an emergency. I use mine mostly for outdoor readings that are easily viewed. I would buy it again.
Question:	I know the sensor can be mounted nearly anywhere, but can the weather center be wall mounted
Answer:	You have the option of wall mounting or setting it on a desk. You have to be careful when wall mounting and place it in a position to where you can see it dead on and nor at an angle.
Question:	How long is the cord if there is one
Answer:	I just measured and it is approx. 5 1/2 feet. The cord was a little curly and hard to measure but it was a bit over 67 inches. Hope this helps!

Answer:	It's been a while since we installed this, I believe the individual internal wires are solid

Answer:	When I ordered my box in August it was cat6. Said so on the box and the wires were marked as such. However I do not recall the description stating cat 5. I am sure if you ordered it and it was wrong Amazon would allow free shipping for the return. One thing to be mindful is that the order may not come with the crimped and ends (mine did not). Nevertheless when I called Amazon to complain they refunded me 20 bucks. Btw my Ethernet run in buried conduit spanned about 110 ft. No issues; everything works great.

Once you have verified that you are using recommended batteries, perform the reset below. Please follow the steps carefully as the order is crucial to the success of the reset. Hard Reset: 1. Bring both the sensor and display unit together and power down by removing all batteries from each and/or removing the power cord. 2. Change the A-B-C switch on both units to a new, matching channel. 3. Reinstall the batteries in the outdoor sensor. 4. Reinstall batteries and/or power cord into the display unit. 5. Let the units sit within a couple of feet of each other for approximately 5 minutes or until you see a solid sensor signal. Question:	Does the acurite 06014 work with a 01036a1 display? my current exterior weather sensor goes through batteries in a week
Answer:	It only updates every 18 seconds. That's just crazy. Do you know how often the wind changes in 18 seconds ? So the accuracy is a totally zero !! You may step out your door into 30 mile an hour winds but your display shows only 6 miles an hour. Other than that, yep it displays the wind speed albeit from who knows when.
Question:	Can I pair this with Alexa
Answer:	Riley, we have the sensor about 40 feet away from the receiver. My husband mounted the sensor on top of an 8 foot board at the edge of the deck which is 7 feet above the ground to get wind speed, too. It works very well.
Question:	Will this unit handle winter weather
Answer:	Yes, but not as bad as some other units. 5-6 degrees versus 20 degrees.
Question:	Does this need to be mounted on a pole
Answer:	It is very easy. The sensor needs to be 5ft off the ground minimum, in an open area away from buildings and roads (anything that will interfere with wind flow and temperature). We mounted ours on a 6ft pole in our backyard and it works great. Also keep in mind how shade can affect temperature readings. Basically the further away from shade, ground, buildings, and roads is the way to go. And no roof mounts because shingles absorb heat. The description of the product gives you the diameter of an acceptable "pole". Higher the better. The sensor has a lock bolt that allows you to mount it on any pvc, steel, aluminum, or iron pole to the specified diameter. The instruction booklet of this product goes into great detail of where and how to mount the sensor. Again, very easy. This was a gift to my meteorology major wife, and she loves it. Hope this helps.

Question:	How do I calibrate the units
Answer:	I have bought several of these and found no need for calibration. When I got the first two, I placed them next to each other near an existing device, and when they settled down, all the readings were the same. So, however they do it, it works -- unless a unit is faulty, it will read correctly. (And, if it's faulty, you can't change/calibrate it.)

Answer:	Cord by itself is 34 inches. Plug on one end and probe on other end makes it a little longer.Be careful placing the probe in the meat. It is too easy to position it wrong and get erroneous reading.

Question:	Do you leave the probe in the meat the whole time it is cooking? Wouldn't the end of the probe melt? I've never used one before
Answer:	Yes, you leave the probe in the meat while it is cooking without any danger of it melting.I bought three of these; one for myself, two as gifts.Two failed immediately, one lasted two weekends. Nothing to do with the probe or batteries. The readout went blank.Personally, I would shop elsewhere.
Question:	Is the probe waterproof and therefore suitable for sous vide cooking
Answer:	I don't think this probe was designed for that type of cooking. I use it for internal temperature of the roast on a grill. I am careful that the wire back to the base does not contact any hot surface. The probe itself can be washed, and therefore withstand water. Good luck if you try it. I'll stick to the conventional ways of using this temperature probe.

Question:	Replacing batteries on a roof-mounted unit is a pain. I have power there, so can it be modified easily
Answer:	You can convert "anything" battery powered to a AC converted application. Just match your voltage and amperage and seal the hole wire comes through. Easy. Just find a wall wart to match, solder additional lead wires, as required for length. Heat shrink the soldered connection. Given the 4 AA required, and I don't have this unit, my guess is something 5-6 volts with about 800 -1000 mA would work, just check the stats on it.
Question:	I know the manual says batteries in the display are for backup only, but does anyone know about how long it can survive on batteries
Answer:	I bought mine in 2016 & just had to change the batteries today 2/28/2020
Question:	What is the maximum distance between the outside unit and the display? Does the sensor need to be in the shade
Answer:	The distance is 330 ft. However be careful where you place the display from the station. Walls and other things can weaken the signal. It depends on what your house is made of. My house is primarily wood. The signal has no problem reaching the other end of my house (about 150 ft I believe). Also don't place the display near computers or radios or other electronic devices. It can cause interference with your station. Now the outside station it self is does not need shading. I actually recommend you place the station as high as possible (like on a pole on your roof, if you can't, place it no lower than 5ft-6ft from the ground) This ensures that your wind readings are accurate. The thermometer and hydrometer sensors are in the sensor and a internal fan circulates air past the sensors from outside, allowing the temperature readings to stay normal in the sun. Also make sure that station is in a wide open area with nothing around the sensor that could block the wind reaching the station. Typically I would say 50 ft from obstacles but I'm not sure how close. A lot of writing a know but hope this helps you!

Answer:	The display looks as it is shown in the picture. It is a color transparent overlay that the data is displayed on. It is bright and easy to read.

Answer:	The same thing happened to me with the outdoor temperature reading. It stayed on 71 for a week. I changed the A-B-C button on the display unit to B for 10 seconds and then switched it back to A. The outdoor temperature then began to display on the unit. I have a 75077 unit.

Answer:	No. It is concave in the back with a slight curveture which really restricts wall mounting. Also, this particular model is very hard to read from any distance. I went with the larger model which can easily be read from across the room.
